## What is Contraband?

You've got 30 days, a pocket full of cash, and a city that doesn't care if you live or die.

Contraband is a fast-paced drug-trading game inspired by the classic street hustle. Buy cheap, move product across six cities, and sell high before your time runs out — or someone runs it out for you.

TRADE ACROSS AMERICA
Six cities. Six different markets. Weed's cheap in LA. Coke moves fast in Miami. Meth flows out of Albuquerque. Learn the routes, read the prices, and exploit every edge you can find.

CHOOSE YOUR FACTION
Seven criminal organizations. Each one plays differently — different starting cash, police heat, buy/sell advantages, and loan terms. The Independent and the Syndicate are yours from the start. Unlock the Mafia, Outlaws, Cartel, Yakuza, and Red Network for $0.99 each.

SURVIVE THE STREETS
Every move carries risk. Police chases. Corrupt officials. Informants. Street jackings. Undercover busts. When trouble hits, you choose how to handle it — fight, bribe, run, or take the hit. Having a pistol, rifle, or bodyguard on hand changes your options. So does being broke.

MANAGE YOUR OPERATION
Take loans from your faction's loan shark — but pay them back in time. Stash cash in the bank before a seizure wipes you out. Stock up on med packs, tourniquets, and steroids to stay alive. Weapons in your arsenal shift the odds every time things go sideways.

NO ADS. NO TIMERS. NO NONSENSE.
One price gets you in the door. No energy bars. No forced ads. No pay-to-win. Just you, the market, and 30 days to make your name.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.2 — 2026-08-12

Drug prices completely reworked — Snow runs highest risk and highest reward, Tabs are cheap and wildly volatile, Brown stays low and steady. Each drug now carries its own cop risk on the road.

7 new drug-specific events: hard-partying benders on Snow, junkie robberies on Brown, LSD strangers and accidental dosing on Tabs, tweaker confrontations and meth house chaos on Ice. Each with custom artwork.

Faction deals now carry risk — selling in the same city where your faction gave you a discount triggers faction-specific consequences.

Reputation history — tap your REP score to see a full log of what built or cost you street cred.

Jail art now displays while you're locked up instead of the city banner.

Bug fixes: non-weapon beatings now correctly apply health damage. iPad drug detail back button fixed.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-07-15

1.2.1 brings two big additions and a handful of fixes.

CITY ART
Every city in the game now has its own illustration. New York, Miami, Albuquerque, Detroit, Baltimore — all 12 locations have a unique scene that loads when you arrive. The street feels different depending on where you are.

GAME CENTER LEADERBOARD
Your final net worth is now submitted to a global leaderboard after every run. Compare scores with friends from the History screen. Tap LEADERBOARD to see where you rank.

FIXES
— Jail sentences that outlast your remaining days now end the game immediately instead of forcing you to wait out the clock
— Images no longer overlap the back button and drug name on the detail screen
— Yakuza faction events now correctly reference US law enforcement

### 1.2 — 2026-07-11

This update is all about atmosphere.

Every drug and every street event in the game now has original artwork — gritty, high-contrast illustrations that put you in the moment. Whether you're watching the police close in, stumbling onto an abandoned stash, or sitting across from a corrupt official, you'll see it.

We also fixed an issue where images were overlapping the navigation header on the drug detail screen. Everything is clean and sharp now.

Under the hood: purchase timeout extended to give Apple's payment system more time to complete, and the app now correctly clears error messages when a purchase is verified in the background. If you ran into a "purchase timed out" message after a successful buy, that's gone.

Thanks for playing.

### 1.1 — 2026-06-23

Version 1.1

Health System
You're no longer just managing cash — you're managing your survival. A health bar now tracks your HP throughout each run. Fights, police encounters, and jail time all take a toll. Stay operational with new consumable items: eat a Steak for a quick boost, patch up with a Med Pack, run a Steroids cycle for sustained healing over time, or keep a Tourniquet on hand for when someone pulls a weapon and things go sideways fast.

Jail Events
Doing time is no longer dead time. Every day you wait in jail has a chance of triggering a faction-specific event. The Mafia gets meals sent in by the family. The Yakuza trains and meditates. The Outlaws receive packages from the chapter. The Cartel has the warden on payroll. Independents get taxed by everyone with no one to call. Some events earn you cash or cut your sentence. Others cost you.

Health History
Tap the HP bar at any time to see a full log of every health event — what happened, when, and by how much.

Quality of Life

Bank balance now visible in the main header
Buying and selling drugs is blocked while in jail
Share your score directly from the History screen
