## What is Control Tiempos Eclipse?

Control Tiempos Eclipse is a spoken director for solar eclipse photographers. During an eclipse, every second counts and every glance at a screen is a photo you lose. The app announces each moment out loud — filter off, bracketing, diamond ring, totality, filter back on — so you never need to look at your phone.

HOW IT WORKS
Choose an eclipse, set your observing position (GPS or manual coordinates), and the app computes your exact local contact times — C1, C2, maximum, C3, C4 — using an embedded astronomical engine. Then build your photographic program: a sequence of timed voice cues anchored to those contacts. When the day comes, press start and listen. The app speaks; you shoot.

ENTIRELY OFFLINE
Everything runs on your device. The eclipse dataset (2025–2035) is built in, the timing engine needs no network, and the voice announcements use the system's own speech synthesizer. No signal on a remote hilltop? Perfect — neither the app nor you need it.

REHEARSE BEFORE THE DAY
A rehearsal mode lets you run your full program in accelerated or real time, so you can practice your camera movements and refine your script days before the eclipse. On eclipse day, nothing is improvised.

DESIGNED FOR THE FIELD
- Precise timing engine with sub-second announcement accuracy
- Programs built around the real contact times of your exact position
- Clear execution screen with the next cue always visible
- Works with the screen locked in your pocket
- No account, no ads, no data collection — see our privacy policy

Built by a photographer, for photographers, with the August 12, 2026 total eclipse over Spain as its first mission. In English, Spanish and Catalan.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-08-08

Explore the map before you commit to a spot
You can now pan across the verification map and see, at any point, whether the eclipse will be total or partial, its magnitude, how many seconds totality lasts, and the Sun's altitude. Found somewhere better? Save it to your locations with a name — no more writing coordinates down and typing them back in.
Free translation for your cues
Translating your cues no longer requires a paid key. Choose between Google Gemini, which has a free tier, and Claude. Settings explains how to get each key and which one costs money.
Translation is faster and more reliable too: the whole programme travels in a single request, and camera settings (F8, 1/500, ISO 100) come through untouched. If something goes wrong, the app now tells you instead of staying quiet.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-08

Check your horizon before the eclipse.

The results screen now has a PeakFinder button next to the Jubier one. It opens a panorama from your exact coordinates, aimed at the Sun at maximum eclipse and showing its path across the sky that day, so you can see whether a ridge, a building or a line of trees will block your view. It matters this time: on 12 August 2026 the Sun is only a few degrees above the horizon across northern Spain.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-04

New welcome screen with a guided tour. Press and hold any button for half a second to see what it does, without leaving the screen you're on. The full tour is always available in Settings.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-04

No release notes.
