Otherwise everything works great. I was an installer and using this on my home system. Additional Info: there was a revision up to the the .24 so that when I attempted to update the app in the iOS 12.5 I would get a message that there was an older app that was compatible with the 12.5 version. The app, however, regularly fails, usually by being unable to find the system and controlling it. Recently did a reinstall for the app and can’t connect with either phone in the house. One star is one too many. ### 1/5 — App Stopped Working *2022-06-01, version 2.10.21* In just the past month this app has gone from extremely reliable to totally unreliable. It fails to connect to my project consistently - both on my phone and my wife’s. There’s no explanation for why the change would have occurred as nothing in our house has been changed. The issue must be on the side of the app or Control4 servers. But whatever it is it has made the app totally unusable and completely unreliable. It needs to fixed ASAP. ### 2/5 — When it works it is okay….it works 50% of the *2022-02-10, version 2.10.19* The program is fine. But I have to close it more than half the time and reopen it…and then 20% of the time it won’t connect at all unless I shut down the system and restart. Please fix! ### 1/5 — Terrible App Update *2021-09-14, version 2.10.18* I downloaded this latest app update and it wiped out all of my lighting scenes (the scenes need to be reprogrammed by my dealer tech which charges me heavily for tech support). I need to get my lighting control scenes back (without being charged for it)! How can I get the old App back. ### 1/5 — Total scam *2021-08-25, version 2.10.17* Customer service is terrible. Talk to 3-4 people just to find the right person for the issue. They say they can help or have solutions but they are only recommendations. I had a customer service rep call me and he just wanted to argue. They blame subs for cables not working properly. They want me to purchase an Apple TV component. They want me to purchase a wireless sub woofer component. They want me to put tape over the IR sensor. After spending all this money, I shouldn’t need tape or anything additional. Probably better off doin this yourself and NOT going through control 4 Pandora plays a couple of songs then stops. After looking at all these poor reviews, I’m shocked they’re still in business and there hasn’t been a class action lawsuit against control 4. They do not take any kind of responsibility or accountability. ### 1/5 — The Worst Audio / Video Product Ever Sold *2021-08-19, version 2.10.17* We have had a Control4 system for almost 10 years and have had nothing but problems since the beginning. The equipment constantly breaks and just stops working then you have to pay corrupt dealers to fix things all the time. We have a mister system in Arizona and the Control4 switch is on our roof. The switch failed and I had to pay $150 for a new one that didn’t work and had to be replaced. Then I had to pay an electrician to install a relay because the new switch is crap and cannot handle the load. Then the second switch would not connect to the zigby network. Then I paid for a zigby network extender and I still cannot get anything working. Control 4 has totally abandoned me and my only avenue left is to probably sue them. Inherited this piece of garbage “smart” home system when I moved into my current place. Terrible system and managed by contractors who overprice and try to rip customers off for this terrible system. IT IS NOT RELIABLE !! My husband had BestBuy set up original zones inside the house. He then wanted to add zones outside... BestBuy did not support the system anymore ... Red Flag!! We should have stopped there. He had zones added outside and it is totally unreliable. We paid $1000 for a Control4 remote control which is useless and should be updated according one of their "authorized repair companies". Agree with other reviews ... constantly having to refresh system and it won't connect at all some days. We pay an "authorized repair company" $200 to walk through the door and take our money to "fix" the system, which never lasts more than a day or two. We are inundated with tune-in commercials now and experience "dead air" frequently. When asked why I was told by one repair tech that "that question was above his pay grade". And I do expect to see the scripted response from Control4 like all the other negative reviews to upgrade ... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !!! We can never get it to work right and it is so overly complicated. This isn’t 2001, we can make apps that work well but this company clearly doesn’t have the resources to do it ### 1/5 — Can’t connect to system after the latest app update *2023-09-01, version 2.10.24* I’ve used the app without material issue for years. After the latest update, the app is unable to connect to my system. The progress bar loads and the process freezes at 100%. I can watch our security cameras and she has her Spotify going.
