I frequently have trouble logging in, which makes it frustrating to use. The previous version was much better in terms of performance. That said, when the app does work, it has great features—I’m able to control my thermostat and lights directly from my phone, which is very convenient. ### 2/5 — Pretty disappointing *2026-03-29* Meh. They missed the opp. After so many years, it’s just a basic functional dummy, master application/firmware. The business model requires certified technicians, most of them are poor. PLEASE add the x4 app to the amazon fire store. I am seriously considering ripping it out and replacing it with the Lutron system in our other house ### 3/5 — Buggy *2025-04-28* Issues on the consumer app side. ShairBridge not appearing under the listen tab on homepage without dealer deleting the service and adding it again for me (tried doing this myself). Routines often failing to download. You have absolutely no control. They've simply found a way to take control of your wallet. And what about the paint on the switches that's peeling off? A very bad investment to begin with a few years ago :( ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2026-03-29* All of their stuff works for a very limited amount of time and then quits out or has some sort of catastrophic system error which they then tell you that you have to buy an entirely brand new package to replace, spending tens of thousands of dollars to re-out fit the house It’s incredibly frustrating and not worth your time ### 1/5 — I wish I can give negative stars *2026-03-22* Installed this update about a month ago. We are sick and tired of your stuff not working correctly and consistently. We want this specific issue fixed for us or we want our money back and will give you your faulty freaking equipment back, which btw, had been rma’d multiple times. I want an engineer to come out and fix this - no more wasted hours talking with our installers - you need to he boots on ground with them and figure it out and fix it. Youve monitored it and pulled the logs and it still doesnt work. Fix it! ### 1/5 — Don’t update to OS4 stay with 3 *2025-08-21, version 425.31.0* Redesign and liftup went tottally wrong. App is a mess with many small buttons that noone really understand how to use also app crash on and on. It’s more reliable, more flexible, and scales way better across different systems. The interface is clean, easy to use, and gives integrators the control needed to dial things in properly. Big key: you need a solid network. When the network is built right, Control4 runs rock solid. Compared to Savant, you’re not boxed in—more freedom, easier to grow, and fewer limitations long term. Bottom line: dependable, scalable, and the platform I trust. ### 5/5 — Great upgrade *2026-01-21* The app is working well overall; the only issue is that sometimes it unexpectedly closes, I hope they can fix that issue ### 5/5 — A welcomed Improvement and worth the upgrade! *2025-12-11* My dealer recently upgraded my entire system so it runs on X4. My family really loves the updated look, the new home page and the ability to change all kinds of automation without needing to call a technician for every little thing. One thing we found is that the system is only as good as the company installing it. I recommend finding a dealer that specializes in Control4 and only Control4. One improvement we’d like to see Control4 bring back is the ability for each family member to be able to customize their app, favorites etc. on their mobile device. ### 5/5 — Convenience, Comfort, and Peace of Mind with Control4 x4 *2025-08-29* Control4 makes the whole house feel connected and easy to control. With one button, I can set lights, music, and climate just the way I want, whether I’m home or away. The app and touchscreens are simple to use, and I like the extra peace of mind with cameras and security features. It’s not a DIY system—you need a good dealer to set it up—but once it’s in place, it runs smoothly and feels seamless. ### 5/5 — Favorite’s Menu🙏 *2025-08-23* Title says it all, it’s so nice being able to favorite lights/etc so I can quickly get to them. Works sometimes…most of the time just flipping breakers and deleting and reinstalling the app. Now re-wiring the house to go to manual switches and controls.
