### 4/5 — Great App AND

*2026-08-12, version 2.2.10*

This is a great app. I’ve been using it for years, so it’s easy to go back to especially because people seem to eat the same so your meals are already there. But something that would make it most excellent is if I could sync exercise apps, instead of having to do it manually. Thanks. 👌🏻

### 3/5 — Solid basic tracker

*2026-04-25, version 2.2.10*

I've used the app for years when I'm off my game. It is easy to find where I'm eating too much fat or not getting enough water, and being able to enter my own recipes is helpful

That being said, it lacks a lot of entries, is very focused on particular brands, could be far better with PB foods, the scanner does not work. Take what you can.

### 4/5 — Nice App

*2026-03-06, version 2.2.10*

It’s a good app for tracking my carbs. I just wish it was easier to add multiple item to a meal. The meal copy feature helps with that.

### 4/5 — Very useful, Australian based

*2026-02-11, version 2.2.10*

It’s easy to add your own recipes and foods. Good graph of weight. Room for improvement: The database of foods needs updating as there are a lot missing. The exercise tracking requires all manual input. Good price though for lifetime use. No annual fee.

### 3/5 — App sync

*2026-01-13, version 2.2.10*

Would love to see this app sync with Apple health and pull data from that. Like exercise minutes water ect I have a smart water bottle that logs water but it won’t come into this app from what I can see

### 3/5 — Please include Australia

*2025-10-15, version 2.2.10*

Suggested by my dietician but barcode scanning is only for the USA. Very disappointed.

### 2/5 — No connection to external apps.

*2025-10-11, version 2.2.10*

I rely on the connection with external apps to input my exercise and activity. Having to enter it manually myself is a pain. So unfortunately, though I prefer this for the tracking information, I have to delete the app.

### 5/5 — Great for Type 1 Diabetecs

*2025-09-06, version 2.2.10*

Being able to calculate foods in so many different serving sizes/volumes makes carbohydrate counting much easier, especially for diabetic patients on an insulin pump

### 3/5 — Record keeping what I eat

*2025-08-10, version 2.2.10*

I like the app. I like keeping track of what I consume. I have more motivation to avoid sweets and monitor my Bread ( my favorite staple) intake

### 5/5 — Visual Help for Low Protein Diet

*2025-07-26, version 2.2.10*

Recently diagnosed as Stage 2 Chronic Kidney Disease, Prediabetic. I already had Osteoarthritis and Eczema and focused on losing 30lbs gained since moving to a new state. This free mobile app has been a godsend. It's so helpful to actually see where my numbers are at any point, as well as the visual graphs that track overall performance rather than guessing or having to log into a desktop app. It is critical that I lose weight and specifically know where my protein and carbs numbers are to manage and ultimately improve my health and lose weight. Thank you for sharing this free version to assist me with my goals. This is life changing.

### 5/5 — Heart Cent

*2025-07-13, version 2.2.10*

I am very happy with this app. Easy to use easy for me to track my calorie intake.

### 5/5 — Non judgmental buddy

*2025-06-29, version 2.2.10*

Just the facts. This app is all about the count. The info you enter can be modified along the way as you learn more about your diet changes. Whether trying to gain, lose or maintain, it gives you at a glance assessment of where you are at for your daily goals.

### 5/5 — Great free app

*2025-06-27, version 2.2.10*

Love this app very helpful

### 5/5 — Easy and effective

*2025-05-31, version 2.2.10*

This is so easy to use, remembers previous foods and amounts and can save meals for re entry. Only takes seconds to record your food and check calories consumed. The easiest way I’ve found to lose weight. I lost 6kgs in 6 weeks 10 years ago using this app and started using it again to lose recent weight gain

### 5/5 — Type 2 Diabetic

*2025-05-29, version 2.2.10*

Was able to bring my a1c down 1.5 in 90 days and loose 21lbs.

### 5/5 — App critical to success

*2025-04-26, version 2.2.10*

This app has greatly increased my understanding of both carb intake and calories for meal and day. I am learning carb counting in preparation for an insulin pump. It will greatly assist me when calculating carbs for meal

### 4/5 — Love it but

*2025-04-25, version 2.2.10*

Doesn’t link with apple health

### 3/5 — Bar code scanner

*2025-04-18, version 2.2.10*

The scanner feature would be cool, but so far, a week in, absolutely nothing I’ve scanned is in the system. The app overall is helpful

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Good calorie database, awful as a weight loss tool

*2026-07-28, version 2.2.10*

The user interface is terrible in every way. The weight chart doesn’t show numbers, you have no visuals to help you see where you are calorie-wise throughout the day, no pie chart for macronutrient consumed. The only good thing is the database, which is great and trustworthy. But any other weight loss app is better to manage intake.

### 1/5 — Disappointed User

*2025-08-14, version 2.2.10*

Glitchy, basic but useful if you can put up with it not working the same way everyday.

### 1/5 — Used to be a good app

*2024-09-23, version 2.2.10*

Unable to login and history for a week has didappeared. Whoever developed the idea was good but appears no one is watching the shop or fixing the issues.

### 1/5 — It does not allow me to describe my account

*2024-09-21, version 2.2.10*

I can’t use this app. I have been trying for several days to deactivate my account and the website will not do it. It just says sorry try again

### 1/5 — I love it

*2024-09-19, version 2.2.10*

So simple to use without all the silly bells and whistles. The only negative is goal weights and calories it wishes to set for you are waaaayyy to low but thankfully allows you to chance to suit. Wish that there was a calendar where you see your daily calories for the month at a glance, not just the bar graph. Edit: it logs me out every few weeks to months and I wait a few days for tech support, frustrating and no reason given as to why its always doing it. This time I’ve been logged out for 2 weeks and customer support is non responsive.

### 1/5 — Unable to log in

*2024-09-18, version 2.2.10*

Long time user, stopped by subscription 12 months ago and been using ad supported version, on iPhone and Mac. Was tossed out of my account a fortnight ago and unable to log in on any device. Logged the issue with developer but no response. Was going to resubscribe but unlikely to now.

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2024-09-10, version 2.2.10*

Can’t login, even creating a new email address and deleting the app. Useless now if using 2 devices.

### 1/5 — Ads are a problem

*2024-08-19, version 2.2.10*

Have been using this app for a few years and built up a large data base. As of august 5 2024 the subscription for no ads is applicable. Going to the settings menu an looking at the ad free options it shows 1 month,3 month or one year. However none can be activated! I dont need google ads popping up every time I want to enter data. The program has helped me keep track of trends and helped in losing 35# and keeping it off. I will actively start with another ap to avoid the google nonsense.

### 1/5 — Ads in a paid version, unimpressed

*2024-08-15, version 2.2.10*

I have paid for my copy, now there are ads everywhere - that is disgusting. I will delete this app and suggest others do too. If the subscription isn’t enough, put up the price, then I have a choice

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2024-07-28, version 2.2.10*

Look somewhere else. The app cannot create the user id in the backend database!! You enter your email and password to create the account and the app fails to do so. You get the error failed to create device; code 500. Contacting the developers is a total waste of time.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — 5 Star App

*2026-07-27, version 2.2.10*

I love this app, I have type 1 diabetes and it makes tracking all my meals a breeze. I’m also training for a half marathon right now. Seeing how many calories I have left to use keeps my training schedule on track!

### 5/5 — Finally, and easy to use calorie tracker

*2026-07-07, version 2.2.10*

Seriously, I can’t say enough about this app. I’ve tried so many others. They all want to control your diet. This app lets you customize your weight goes and your calorie goals without telling you what to do. Also gives you a clean view of your day. Amazingly simple!

### 5/5 — Takes self discipline and works 100%

*2026-06-09, version 2.2.10*

I bought this several years ago and the companion app. I lost over 25 lbs with it(that was my goal) If you take the time to count and log all calories and stick with it you will have 100% success. Also by using it one learns what foods to eat and quantities to keep your ideal weight. Highly Reccomended.

### 5/5 — perfect

*2026-05-28, version 2.2.10*

this app is perfect exactly how it is. no requirement to sign up no ads. absolute gem

### 5/5 — Love this app but…

*2026-05-19, version 2.2.10*

The app is great, user friendly & I love that you can add recipes to get nutritional value. The only thing I wish about the app was more updates more often when new products come out. It’s not enough for me to remove a star because I just add anything missing manually as a food.

### 5/5 — Best tracker without weight loss pressure!

*2026-05-18, version 2.2.10*

This is my food tracking app dreams come true!! I’ve been looking forever for an app that lets me to track/measure what I eat, drink, and do … AND THAT’S IT. No feature bloat, no motivational stuff, no community or coaching. Just the facts. Love this app so much. The UI is clean and easy. DON’T CHANGE IT!!!

### 5/5 — Helped me reach my goals

*2026-05-16, version 2.2.10*

ControlMyWeight did exactly that! After reaching a big Xmas break and far too long of not looking after myself the app helped me get my weight back to where I wanted it. With disciplined use of it it helped me understand the calories in food. In 3 months I had got to where I wanted to be and now use it as a check app. Great tool!

### 5/5 — Great. For tracking progress

*2026-04-03, version 2.2.10*

A very helpful tool in watching your calorie intake and keeping track of your weight and goals.

### 5/5 — Good data

*2026-02-03, version 2.2.10*

This app has a good range of Australian food and take away products which simplifies calorie counting. I love the carb and protein counts too.

### 5/5 — Put in your own recipes!

*2025-11-17, version 2.2.10*

This is the absolute BEST app for controlling what you eat. Not the easiest to learn, but has the best options and works 100% great for me. You still have to do some work on your own recipes- using labels and a scale. Most people eat the same things all the time so once your favs are entered in the database, you can just keep using them.
