## Newest reviews (15 of 55)

### 1/5 — Update doesn’t work

*2025-12-04, version 1.17*

Since the latest update it won’t let me arm or disarm my alarm on my house. My wife is on controlplus app the original blue one and hers works fine

### 1/5 — Fairly poor app

*2025-11-21, version 1.16*

This is a rework of the original control plus app. I’m not a fan of the new layout or limited sounds.
There is no notification to the app if the alarm drops offline.
The speed is much improved, but still has reliability issues.
The amount of times I’ve seen serial number not found in server as an error.
Don’t try to use the app after an alarm condition, you have to wait a few mins first.
Just poor design.

### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2025-11-14, version 1.16*

Ugh…I very rarely write reviews but this app is so glitchy I felt I should do. Currently haven’t been able to connect for the last two days due to some update error and, when it is working, it’s still hit and miss whether it connects or not. Love the idea of this but plagued with constant problems. Would love it to be improved.

### 1/5 — Setting alarm

*2025-11-14, version 1.16*

Downloaded the new version as instructed by my installer as the old one basically would not work and spent 5 minutes getting in the house as could not access the alarm.
Will post as I find faults as there was plenty on the old system, see if the delays and lags and lack of alarm activation after going out and returning home to find that the alarm was never set, even though it said it was. I wish there was another app to use as this one is by no short straw good at all.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-10-20, version 1.12*

Slow, sometimes won’t connect even when I’m in the same house as it. Looks like an 8yr old designed it. No offence to any 8yr olds

### 1/5 — Unreliable and often useless

*2025-08-31, version 1.12*

Most of the time the app fails to load onto the Home Screen. It just displays the spinning wheel and then gives up. My wife often can't bare it and simply leaves the alarm off most the time because the app is so useless.

### 1/5 — Not fit for purpose

*2025-07-09, version 1.12*

Push notifications on app stopped working on all phones in our household last October and orisec haven’t been able to solve it. Best they can come up with is to uninstall and reinstall the app. Cheers guys 👍

### 1/5 — Poor App

*2025-06-11, version 1.12*

It’s vey unreliable to connect. Have to shut it down and reopen multiple times before it connects.

### 1/5 — iPad

*2025-05-12, version 1.12*

App does not work on a iPad. It load up, but pages are all weirdly formatted. Impossible to hit ‘I agree’ to T&Cs question, so can’t get past 1sr screen.

Works Ok on iPhone. Would rate higher if it worked on an iPad.

No info on how to raise a support call, or report a problem.

### 1/5 — Bad UI

*2025-05-09, version 1.12*

User interface lets this app down, which unfortunately is its main and only use. Difficulty connecting, app crashes and generally not easy to navigate. If I knew this was the app I’d have to use, I’d have gone with a different system

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on IPad

*2025-04-24, version 1.12*

Have installed this on my IPad and it won’t even let me get past the first screen. Asks me to accept terms and conditions which are hidden behind the menu bar. Won’t let me scroll up to accept them so can’t use the app at all on IPad.

### 1/5 — Awful app that always crashes

*2025-04-15, version 1.12*

Literally the worst app ever. Doesn’t even let me open it without crashing, so I’m barely able to set my alarm. Maybe it will work 1/50 times but even then it’s useless as once it’s set I’m then not able to open the app in the morning to turn the alarm off

### 3/5 — Not great

*2025-04-11, version 1.12*

When that works it’s great unfortunately in order to arm or disarm the alarm. You have to keep closing the app down and reopening it which is an absolute pain.

### 1/5 — Buggy and lacking features

*2025-03-05, version 1.12*

My biggest frustration is how often the app simply closes when I try to use it.
Behind that, the interface and layout feels terribly dated and, whilst aesthetics are merely skin deep, the inability to use the app as a means of configuring the setup means I really only use it to switch my alarm on and off remotely - that is fine but I’d also like to be able to configure new part sets, but I can’t do that in the app.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work.

*2025-02-02, version 1.11*

App doesn’t connect the majority of the time. Neither on WiFi or Bluetooth. Unable to use the smart features of the alarm.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-07-07, version 1.20*

App crashes constantly or refuses to load pointless having an App to arm your alarm system if it takes 10 minutes to get into it!

### 1/5 — App crashes alarm system

*2026-06-01, version 1.18*

On many occasions, using this app has crashed the actual alarm system. This needs to be addressed by the developer as this has caused a lot of stress and false alarms. I’ve seen in the logs that a connection was made and then the alarm system reboots, powers up, and has to connect to the WiFi again and then re-set the alarms later.
That’s bordering on a security flaw; for about 3 minutes the whole security system is inoperable until it re-sets itself. And if you’re trying to arm or disarm the alarm system then you’re out of luck.

### 1/5 — Dated

*2026-05-30, version 1.18*

The app is purely functional with a dated interface, very laggy and inconsistent UX. IMO it’s time for an app overhaul.

### 1/5 — Barely connects or works

*2026-03-30, version 1.18*

It was great when it was first installed but woe betide if you change routers or passwords. Connecting it is a rarity even with engineer help.

### 1/5 — iPad problem

*2026-03-03, version 1.17*

Tried to install the app on a iPad, unfortunately it doesn’t work as you can’t get pass the first page(large app)
As it is supposed to work on iPads can you please sort this out and if not please let us know and remove the iPad link.
It would be nice for the developers to inform the purchases that they are working on the problem.

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2026-02-12, version 1.17*

When the app EVENTUALLY connects, the link is up for mere seconds before it hangs causijg you to quit. You have barely any time to do anything before it stalls. Can anyone tell me how this passed QA? What’s the point of this?

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2026-02-12, version 1.17*

App is a nightmare to use, have to shut it down multiple times before it lets me operate the alarm. Very frustrating

### 1/5 — Constant crashing

*2026-02-03, version 1.17*

App has worked fine for over 2 years as of the last few weeks it’s been unusable crashing everytime before I even get to my alarm menu.

### 1/5 — Fairly poor app

*2025-12-13, version 1.17*

This is a rework of the original control plus app. I’m not a fan of the new layout or limited sounds.
There is no notification to the app if the alarm drops offline.
The speed is much improved, but still has reliability issues.
The amount of times I’ve seen serial number not found in server as an error.
Don’t try to use the app after an alarm condition, you have to wait a few mins first.
Just poor design.

### 1/5 — Not for for purpose

*2025-12-07, version 1.17*

Like many others, experiencing a very unreliable app and connectivity.

Spinning wheel…
Close down.
Spinning wheel…
Close down.

Maybe it works.

Simply not good enough Orisec.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Notifications Not Good Enough

*2025-11-28, version 1.17*

The one problem I have is that when my home alarm is triggered I get a single notification on my iPhone. So if I don’t check my phone immediately I am not aware of the situation. It it not possible to make the phone “Wail” like a proper alarm?

### 5/5 — Latest update causing problems

*2025-11-12, version 1.14*

App has updated recently but now won’t connect to the system. Was running well before this. On IOS 26.1 if that helps

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2025-05-15, version 1.12*

Really useful and easy to use app one thing I would like to see is maybe make it so I can add widgets so I could add the panic button to my Home Screen or Lock Screen this would be super handy in emergency’s

### 5/5 — Much improved

*2025-01-04, version 1.11*

Connecting much quicker now. Many new additional functions

### 5/5 — Excellent App and System

*2024-04-25, version 1.9.7*

App is really simple to use and has lots of useful features. Notifications are instant and the app also offers critical alerts and a virtual keypad.

### 5/5 — Fast, Simple and Easy

*2023-08-09, version 1.4.0*

Used a number of alarm apps and this is definitely the fastest one by far. No delay or swirling circles whilst logging in, and everything is very responsive.

In particular, I love the ‘Quick Arm’ feature that allows you to set the system straight away without waiting for the delay time to run out.

Really impressed with the Orisec system… it just does what it should do, really quickly.

### 5/5 — Best Intruder Alarm App and Systems

*2023-02-08, version 1.3.0*

ControlPlus2 is in a different league to other intruder alarm apps on the market. It’s been developed alongside feedback from Professional system installers, like ourselves, end users, and in conjunction with market research.

This app replaces the previous ControlPlus app and allows ultra fast control of your Orisec alarm system whilst providing excellent logs and push notifications - it’s everything we were asking for and more. If you don’t have an Orisec system, then this isn’t for you, but if you do, you’re in for a treat :-).

If your system does not respond in a fast and responsive way to this app (and you have a decent internet connection of course), then you may need your alarm company to make configuration changes to your panel and apply new Firmware to ensure that your system is fully up to date.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2023-01-25, version 1.2.1*

We are installers. This app is a vast improvement.
Super fast connections.

### 4/5 — Tips after 18 months of use

*2025-07-07, version 1.12*

Much, much better than the key pad!
Tips after using for 18 mths:
1/ Wait until the top box populates before you proceed to set alarm screen, this avoids the crash out of the app issue happening
2/ Do “mark messages as read” on a regular basis, for us once this hits 50 and above the app won’t let you proceed to set alarms
3/ often we find it sets more quickly, without the spinning wheel of death, when we are a short distance from the property rather than right outside 🤷🏻‍♀️
4/ remember intruder alarm activations give you the (very) loud alarm to all connected devices and overrides silent and volume level on iPhones - not good if you’re in a place that needs silence, (wedding service 😬) best to switch off phone where silence matters if you feel you can.
5/ if you drive Audi and use My Audi and you’re trying to set when you’re in the car, the Audi app overrides the use of the alarm app. Verrrry irritating but is Audi not the alarm that us the problem

### 4/5 — Better

*2024-06-05, version 1.10.0*

Definitely better than mk1 app but come on let’s get this on Apple Watch !! It’s perfect to port over even if only arm/disarm !!
