## What is Cookbo?

Every recipe you cook, in one place.

Cookbo is a no-fuss recipe manager for people who actually cook. Share a recipe from any website and Cookbo keeps the recipe and leaves the rest: ingredients, steps, and notes. No ads, no accounts, no clutter.

Save from any site
Found a recipe you love? Tap Share, choose Cookbo, and you're done. It works with recipe blogs, cooking sites, and even Instagram posts.

Make it your own
Swap ingredients, reorder steps, add personal notes. Your recipes should work for you, not the other way around.

Check 'em off as you shop
Tap ingredients to check them off, or send them to your Reminders grocery list.

Never lose your place
Check off each step as you cook, so you always know where you left off.

Find it fast
Sort recipes into your own categories, or jump to Recently Added and Favorites.

Your recipes, your files
Recipes are saved as plain text files in iCloud and sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. No special format, no lock-in. Your recipes are always yours.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.1 — 2026-10-05

A new tour of how Cookbo works, a shortcut to put Cookbo first in your share sheet, more reliable saving from other apps, a clearer import preview, and cook mode polish throughout.

### 1.5 — 2026-10-03

Introducing Cook Mode.

Turn your phone sideways on any recipe, or tap Start Cooking, and Cookbo becomes a cooking companion:

• See the whole cook first. A quick overview shows every stage, and what can happen at the same time, like the oven heating while you prep.
• Chop it all up front. A prep list gathers everything to chop, dice and grate, in the order you'll need it. Measuring is there too, tucked away until you want it.
• Big, clear steps. Each step shows just the ingredients that go in, highlighted in the text.
• Hands-free friendly. Tap Next or swipe to move on. Each step and its ingredients check themselves off as you go.
• Timers that stay put. Tap any cooking time to start a timer. It shows on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, and tapping it brings you back to that step.
• Mark as cooked when you're done to keep track of what you've made.

Also in this update:
• Category headers stay in view as you scroll your library.
• Amounts read more cleanly, like 1¼ cups and ⅛ tsp.
• Lots of small fixes and polish.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-10-03

• Smart collections for Recently Added and Favorites, plus easier browsing in your recipe list
• A quick welcome for new users, with a sample recipe to try
• Recipe files now use the recipe's title, and folders use the cookbook's name
• Share a recipe's link to text it to a friend
• New About section

### 1.4 — 2026-09-28

- Smart collections for Recently Added and Favorites, plus easier browsing in your recipe list
