## What is Cook?

The recipes you cook come from all over: food blogs, subscription apps, and a shelf of cookbooks. Cook:RE collects them into one library on your iPhone, lets you change them, and helps you cook from them.

COLLECT
Share a recipe in from Safari or another app, or photograph a page from a cookbook or a recipe card. It arrives laid out properly: yield, times, ingredients, and steps. Organize recipes into collections and search your whole library.

CUSTOMIZE
Every recipe you collect is yours to edit. Cut the sugar, swap raisins for dried cherries, mark the topping optional, rewrite the step that never worked. Keep your own notes. Your version is the one you cook from next time.

COOK
Cooking mode shows each step with the amounts it needs, so you're not scrolling back mid-knead to find how much salt. Tap a time in the instructions and it becomes a timer on your lock screen. Run as many timers as the recipe needs.

SCALE
Double it, halve it, or scale to the servings you want. Every amount stays something you can measure out, in cups and spoons or by weight, whatever units the original recipe used.

YOURS
No account and no feed. Your recipes stay on your iPhone and sync through iCloud.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-10-26

• iPad and landscape: your collections stay in a sidebar beside the recipe list, ingredients stay in view while you read the steps, and cook mode keeps the whole ingredient list open beside the step you're on.
• Undo and redo: step back through your edits from the top bar, or with ⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z on a keyboard.
• History: browse earlier versions of a recipe and restore any of them, including the original import.
• Sort your library by recently cooked or recently edited, filter it by name as you type, and use Find in recipes to search ingredients and steps.
• Each recipe in the list shows when you last cooked it.
• Start on HomeView (subscribers): show the recipe you're cooking on HomeView or in any browser. Steps you close, ingredients you check off and running timers match what's on your phone.
• Cook mode shows timers that have finished, and a step closes only from its number, so tapping in the text no longer closes it by accident.
• Better imports: a line like "¼ cup chopped dill pickles, plus 3 tablespoons brine" becomes two ingredients you can scale and edit separately.
• Help in Preferences opens the guide for the version you have installed.
