All the great features that disappeared with the pandemic have never returned. If you try for app support, it takes you to their site but there is no support. I have call and have been told numerous times it is Apple’s app, and they do not support it. Where did all the interactive features go, the ones that you still tout in the app description, and on your website? During COVID, it changed to what is basically a PDF, and that was ok for back then, but it hasn’t changed back. And now, I, and others apparently, haven’t gotten the May-June 24 issue yet, and not a peep anywhere about it. ### 3/5 — Where's my most recent issue? *2024-05-11, version 2.3* I love the magazine, but I have emailed about my most recent issue for May/June 2024 which isn't there, but no response. I know is out because it is on Apple News. I'm a paying subscriber! Why isn't the app updating?? I like to save my magazines to refer back to them. And yes, I have restored my previous purchases to make sure that there wasn't a glitch somewhere. I want my magazine or else I may as well unsubscribe. ### 3/5 — Where is the current issue? *2024-04-17, version 2.3* I have been a subscriber to Cooks Illustrated for decades, most recently this iPad version. The latest edition (May-June 2024) is available to me as an Apple News+ subscriber and has been since early in the month. However, your iPad app is still just offering me the March-April edition, on the 17th of the month. The new issues reliably appeared shortly after the first of the month they were expected. Why is the content available now on Apple News but not in the app? The interactive features disappeared with the pandemic (is working from home really preventing these features from being reinstated, or is it just cost savings?) and the release of the electronic version keeps getting delayed more with each issue. It is feeling like you really want to abandon this version of the magazine, it is an afterthought. ### 2/5 — Bring back the interactive content *2021-10-01, version 2.0* It’s a great magazine but it’s seriously embarrassing that the developers are still claiming that “working from home” is their excuse for just publishing a PDF of the print magazine without all the great interactive features that used to be included with the issues on the iPad app. I work in tech and literally everyone else figured out long ago how to design and code from home offices except the CI staff. I used the old app a lot but quite frankly am tempted to drop my subscription to the website now that there are so many recipes available online. Absolutely perplexed why they would change it. Can’t even bookmark recipes anymore. The app also has a very bad search function and service is non responsive. When they bother to respond, they don’t answer the question that was asked. I spend an hour redownloading a single recipe.. If I keep more than one issue downloaded, I run out of device storage. I would also like the interactive features restored for app users. MG ### 1/5 — All Access doesn’t work *2023-07-25, version 2.0* I bought the all access subscription for CI, ATK and CC. I downloaded the apps and was able to log into ATK. No luck with CI and CC. Called support and they said their apps do not work with Safari. I canceled my subscription as all I have is IOS and MacOS devices. If it doesn’t work with the native browser then why bother creating the app? My advice, don’t waste your time if the technology decisions do not allow it work properly. ### 1/5 — Please restore interactive features *2022-10-25, version 2.0* Folks, it’s been what, 2 years, that we iPad readers have been without the interactive features we purchased the iPad edition for. We’ve been patient and “understanding’ (as your notice says), but I think the clock has run out on that. Your team can’t still be working from home, and even if they are, that is no longer an acceptable excuse. Furthermore, there have been a number of review comments on here similar to this one and no one from CI has bothered to respond to any of them. Again, unacceptable. You really need to step up your customer support game in the digital space or don’t be in it at all. No one who can be reached via the CI customer support number or email ever seems to have any idea at all about the iPad edition and that is completely maddening. Please stop ignoring us.
