It recognizes items in my pantry and fridge even when labels aren’t visible (like my mustard bottle), then builds grocery lists based on what I already have. Super helpful. Walking in I can tell how comprehensive Cookwise is. It tracks meals, recipes, recipe planning, calories and macros. If you’re missing a kitchen item, you can shop in app. A lot to ship product and feature wise, but what a cool all encompassing opportunity. I believe I will recommend it to everyone! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Scam *2026-03-22, version 1.4.3* Unethical founder posting fake jobs to force job applicants to download and review app. Also, after looking through the app the recipes are low quality. ### 1/5 — Scam *2026-03-20, version 1.4.3* Scammers posting ghost job listings to LinkedIn that require you to download their app so they can harvest your data. ### 1/5 — Unethical behavior from founder asking for reviews *2026-03-20* This app is asking for job seekers to rate the application as a way to inflate their ratings as part of the application process. “We ask all applicants to review our app”, which goes against LinkedIn and App Store terms. The founder has 10+ positions listed on LinkedIn that have never filled and are constantly renewed every few days. This behavior has been reported to LinkedIn and are now reviewing this unethical behavior as a way to inflate engagement. I also enjoyed the fact that it integrates AI and allows you to take pictures of what is in your refrigerator. The last thing I wanna do after a busy day of making decisions at work is having to decide what to cook and this app helps alleviate that extra decision of the day. There are a couple of user experience issues that I ran into one of them being every time I tried to leave a review the app kept closing out. The app has some orphaned characters in the design, which just makes it look slightly unfinished for an otherwise thoughtful design. It doesn’t affect functionality though. The other issue I ran into is that when I leave the app it immediately signs me out of the SSO. ### 5/5 — Best Quick Meal Ideas *2026-04-17, version 1.4.7* CookWise has been pretty helpful when I’m unsure what to cook. The recipes are easy to follow and the app is simple to navigate, which I like.
