### 4/5 — So cool

*2026-07-30, version 4.6.9*

This game is really nice no more words

### 3/5 — Problems

*2026-04-14, version 4.6.9*

Typos in text. No price for pro until you click the upgrade button. No instructions.

### 2/5 — Price gouging at its finest

*2026-03-12, version 4.6.9*

This is a great tool, don't get me wrong! I love it so much and do use it fairly often. But this subscription model is absolutely ridiculous and exploitative.

I've used the app for a long time; "pro" features were a one time purchase back then; not super cheap upfront but worth it over time. A subscription is maybe understandable for an indispensable, widely featured, and always evolving app. But this isn't that. It's a color picker, with comparable free options, and nothing has changed except minor interface tweaks and optimization for over 5 years. One well paid dev can clock in for like 5 hours a year and do more than this company has. The free version is basically useless; there are better places to find existing palettes, which is all it offers. I only use the app at all because they still honor the one time purchase I made, but I would strongly recommend against it unless you're one of the few designers who don't mind paying a ransom for basic tools.

If you're a big corporation's design lead, this is great. But it's a terrible use of money for students, hobbyists, nonprofit designers, rural companies, independent businesses, etc etc etc. (there are no discounts or exceptions currently)

I have books with extensive details on color theory, huge pallette collections, and helpful tailored advice; none of which cost more than 2 months of this app.

### 2/5 — What Happened

*2026-01-25, version 4.6.9*

I used to be able to share color pallets

### 3/5 — Cool idea, but the app has many error and glitches

*2026-01-18, version 4.6.9*

I bought subscriptions, but always have error singing up. Or I crate the palette and when saving it shows error and my work disappears. If the app working so badly, why you charge subscription?

### 5/5 — Coolors is the Coolest!

*2025-12-04, version 4.6.9*

Need a color generator? Look no further. Gorgeous app. User friendly. I could play with this app all day. Can pull palettes from images. You may select specific colors from images, too. You can save your palettes. You may generate palettes at random. I don’t think there’s anything this app can’t do. And i think it’s free, too! Bravo! Excellent color app

### 5/5 — LA MEJOR!!

*2025-11-20, version 4.6.9*

### 5/5 — This app is awesome !!!

*2025-11-19, version 4.6.9*

I love creating color palettes, it helps to physically visualize what I see inside my mind !!!

### 4/5 — Was an awesome app, needs an update

*2025-11-16, version 4.6.9*

App hasn’t been updated in 3 years. It needs to be updated or just pull it from the App Store. I would like it if I could export certain palettes as XML files so that I can import them into MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents easily,

### 5/5 — Not Broken On Mac

*2025-11-14, version 4.6.9*

It wasn’t designed to work as a Mac application. It just happens to run because of Apple Silicon compatibility.

This is a fantastic application and I pay for the pro version.

### 5/5 — 5 Stars—No Ads, Free, Simple

*2025-10-29, version 4.6.9*

Lots of (good) apps have ads or you have to pay for them, Colors is free, as-less, and simple to use; I like it!

### 5/5 — good app

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — It had potential

*2026-05-20, version 4.6.9*

For a few months it worked pretty well. However, during the past two months I have not been able to access my saved palettes. It just shows the loading wheel, but nothing shows up.
I wish it would do what it says it should because as of right now it is not worth the paid subscription.

### 1/5 — Rug pull

*2026-02-24, version 4.6.9*

I paid for this app and then it became subscription based. I do not support that business model and I think it’s laughable it still says “made with love” after doing that. The app itself does not provide enough value to be a subscription.

### 1/5 — Sorun

*2025-11-18, version 4.6.9*

Uygulamanız sorunlu çalışıyor. Ne hesaba girebiliyorum, ne de şifre yenileyemiyorum. Hiçbir şey yapamıyorum….

### 1/5 — What colour?

*2025-11-04, version 4.6.9*

Colours don’t match with the prismacolors pencils

### 1/5 — Now u have to pay a big amount

*2025-10-19*

It used to be good for a free app.. but one day I open it and now u have to pay a big amount per month or year to access every feature that makes this app useful.. I mean for a one time purchase I would have given it a thought but subscription hell no! I would rather just open web and access better free sites there..

### 1/5 — Changed to subscription model, look elsewhere

*2025-10-03, version 4.6.9*

Yall I paid for this app. Why switch it to a subscription? I literally just want to see colors with their hex code. Is that really a service worthy of a recurring monthly payment? I already paid for this, and you broke it on purpose to try to make me pay more. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

### 1/5 — Bug

*2025-08-17, version 4.6.9*

Can’t sign in, neither with google acc nor with apple id. Just endless “signin in”.

Also the website does not work either. None of the buttons respond.

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2025-05-19, version 4.6.9*

I bought the app and now the paid features are no longer available and require a subscription. Total rip off.

### 1/5 — Paid for app - now subscription based

*2025-03-28, version 4.6.9*

I do not appreciate losing access to services I previously paid for. Insane.

### 1/5 — Unethical

*2025-02-05, version 4.6.9*

Coolors has a faulty payment system. It allowed me to purchase a subscription on their site while not being logged in and then was given/assigned a system generated email address as a username. Didn’t think much about it figuring it was for their internal use. Afterwards i discovered that i could not verify my purchase login because i did not have ownership of this random email address to receive the verification email to access the app. I ended up repurchasing the app after discovering the problem with their purchasing flow. I then contacted Coolors and their payment company explaining the situation for a refund on my first purchase and never received a response. Sad company. #fail

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — So good!

*2026-06-16, version 4.6.9*

Have been using Coolers for more than a year and love it. As an artist it is fabulous for developing color palettes for my artwork.

### 5/5 — Love Different Colors

*2026-05-29, version 4.6.9*

I love making something else like that different colors on my own but it’s just a little more complicated that I want to make it look like a real color of mine.

### 5/5 — Great Color sourcing app.

*2026-05-27, version 4.6.9*

This is a great app, very easy to use, choose and have fun with

### 5/5 — Simply the best.

*2026-04-11, version 4.6.9*

I have been looking at so many different tools to try to identify colors that I really like in images. I use it more for that than trying to put combinations together. But it does a beautiful job of that.
I have to say that this app is by far and away the easiest app to use, of any I have tried…. And I tried quite a few! Also, so many apps want to charge you to do the simplest thing and this one allows you to check it out for free 🩵

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2026-04-04, version 4.6.9*

This app is actually SO good!! I just got it and I already love it 💖 It has so many cute color palettes and I can see the hex codes too, which is perfect for wallpapers, drawing, and Picsart edits. It’s super fun to use and really easy to find colors that match my style. Definitely recommend if you love colors and making cute aesthetic stuff!! 🌈✨ (you can click on the color snd scroll down to see the name of it def one of my favorite adds to this app !)

### 5/5 — Love this app and website!

### 5/5 — Ease, fun, and a great visual

*2026-01-04, version 4.6.9*

I really enjoy using this tool! We’re exploring different color combinations, and with just one color in mind, the auto-generate feature helps you lock in your color combo. You lock in your color and let it go to work. It continuously suggest new color combos until you find the perfect mix. It offers a variety of other options too. It’s incredibly useful, simple to use, and visually inspiring.

### 5/5 — as an aspiring design student and art nerd..

*2025-12-27, version 4.6.9*

yeah it's wonderful, no complaints. it's perfect just about.

### 5/5 — Dope.

*2025-12-06, version 4.6.9*

I've used the webpage for yrs. The app is good too.
