The chef (Raman, Kolkata) arrived late and then said he would step away for 5 minutes, but instead vanished for nearly 1.5 hours without any intimation. Repeated calls went unanswered. Because of this, snacks were not ready on time and in the last 30 minutes he hurriedly made 2–3 pathetic curries. The food quality and service were unacceptable, especially for an important party. I trusted Coox for a special occasion and was left embarrassed in front of my guests. Strongly demand a FULL REFUND. This level of unprofessionalism is not expected from a platform like this. What’s worse there is no accessible customer support. It is extremely difficult to reach anyone for help or resolution. I am still waiting for a response and demand a full refund. Hire a local cook instead of falling into this scam trap. I booked a chef after being clearly told that I could reschedule and modify the menu later. But the moment I needed to reschedule—due to a health issue—they suddenly demanded extra money as a “penalty.” They already charge an absurdly high amount, and with these hidden add-ons, your meal will end up costing as much as ordering from a 4-star hotel. Their support is absolutely pathetic. The same people who kept messaging nonstop before payment completely disappeared the moment I paid. No replies, no help, no accountability. It became obvious I was being scammed, and unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way. I booked one chef with assistant and a waiter. As per my order the food to be served from 5 PM. But the food was not ready till 7 PM. Also the waiter didn’t arrive. When I asked the customer care they simply said the chef will do the waiter work also. They totally spoiled my birthday party. I gave 1 star rating to the chef and COOX customer care. But to my surprise after 2 days the ratings were changed to 5 star. I had booked a chef well in advance for a 4 PM function at my home. However, at the last minute, around 3:50 PM, the chef cancelled the booking. Customer support kept assuring me that another chef would be assigned, but the replacement chef arrived only around 6:30 PM. To make matters worse, I was then informed that several menu items could not be prepared because the required appliance was apparently unavailable. This should have been communicated when the booking was made, not hours before the event. I had already selected all the available appliances listed on the app, yet I was still left dealing with these unexpected issues. The entire experience was chaotic, poorly coordinated, and extremely stressful. My guests arrived late, and dinner was eventually served around midnight. If I could give a negative rating, I absolutely would. I would not recommend this app, its chefs, or its customer support team to anyone. Extremely disappointing experience! ### 1/5 — ⭐ 0/5 Stars (If possible) worst service *2026-06-23* I had an extremely disappointing experience with COOX and would strongly advise others to think twice before booking through this platform. I hired a cook for a pooja function and clearly provided all my requirements well in advance. However, the cook assigned to me appeared to lack basic cooking skills. He burnt the kheer completely, and the other two dishes were only average in taste. The most shocking part was that he did not even know how to make puris properly. He kept burning them while frying, and eventually I had to make all the puris myself despite paying for a professional cook. It feels like COOX takes all the requirements upfront but assigns cooks at the last minute without properly verifying their skills. This caused unnecessary stress and embarrassment during an important family function. The customer service experience was equally frustrating. When I raised a complaint, no complaint number was provided and no formal complaint was logged. Every time I contacted support, I had to explain the entire issue from the beginning. After almost two weeks of follow-up, they claimed they had issued a coupon as compensation, but the coupon was not available anywhere. Even if it had been available, why would I want to use it for another booking after such poor service? Overall, I wasted my money, time, energy, and peace of mind. The service quality was far below expectations, and the complaint handling process was equally disappointing. I would not recommend COOX to anyone. Please save yourself the hassle and avoid booking through this platform. ### 1/5 — Fraud company No refunds highly UNprofessional company *2026-05-19* I booked a chef 3 days in advance still the alloted chef cancelled just 30 minutes before promised arrival time, leaving me in a really bad situation. I called customer care several times but no response. I had to cook all food myself for 10 people. Just imagine. They are very unreliable. Calling them regularly for past 3 days for refund, but there customer care is not providing any resolution. On website it’s just a single number , no email ID, no other way to contact them, you are totally at their mercy once you give the advance. ### 1/5 — Very bad service , fraud people *2026-05-18* I have used the Coox booking service twice, and unfortunately both experiences were extremely disappointing. After facing multiple issues during my first booking, I clearly highlighted my concerns to the team. They assured me that everything would be managed properly the second time and that no issues would be repeated. However, the same problems happened again. My major concerns were: 1. Even for a gathering of 15 guests, the cook arrived without any helper. 2. Service was heavily delayed because one person alone could not manage cooking, serving, and coordination simultaneously. 3. Before taking the advance payment, the team repeatedly assured that assistance would be provided later, but after payment they kept giving false promises and excuses. Despite paying around ₹5,500 for the second booking, the cook again arrived alone. We had to involve our home maid to help him manage basic tasks, yet everything was still significantly delayed. Snacks scheduled for 7 PM were served only around 9:30 PM. Eventually, we had to order breads online ourselves because guests could not wait any longer. The entire dinner party experience was spoiled, and customer care was completely unresponsive throughout the situation. I will admit that the food taste was good, but the overall experience was extremely poor due to terrible management, false commitments, lack of professionalism, and no accountability after receiving payment. I genuinely do not recommend this service to anyone. Please be careful before trusting their promises with your hard-earned money. ### 1/5 — Fraud company *2026-04-22* They double book their staff. They charge extra amount to send a pro chef and actually send horrible people who don’t even know how to talk, forget hygiene or cooking. The staff keeps cribing as the company over works them and the customer is the one who ends up paying the price for it. I felt like some goons entered my house. Please do not book them. Save your house and your party. The cooks dumped half the ingredients in the dustbin or down the drain so that we don’t come to know. I did not get half of the things i had selected. Food was so late that i had a panic attack. The cook was absolutely horrible and was using bad language and cursing the company ### 1/5 — No online service is assured service *2026-04-04* You won’t be able to reach their customer care if something goes wrong - and in online service this is critical. This is just like another app in internet - book at your own risk My experience below : On 4th of April I booked service through the app for a cook . Paid 70% in advance . The cook was supposed to arrive at 4 pm. Exactly 3 pm the cook cancelled citing any reason. Then started the issues - customer care doesn’t connect , if the call rings they cancel the call. I tried calling from another number - it went through fine . After much attempts (wasting 15-20 mins connecting) , we were able to go through and explained our situation. A chef was shown assigned - and when I called him - he was in other side of town - 30/40 kms away. He would have reached not less than 1.5 hours later . We had booked the event as a birthday party and going by coox support - I would have started the party at 9 pm. Summary - don’t be 100% assured if you book on coox . Lack of transparency and ease was to reach their customer care . Not every 5 star rating is authentic. ### 1/5 — Worst service and worst support *2026-03-03* Firstly I want to establish that I have availed their services and so whatever I write would be my first hand experience. I challenge the developers to prove me wring in this. Secondly when I booked a service there was no communication from the team and all of a sudden the waiter appears at my door. Without ID, without uniform just casually. On top of it I had booked for 8am and he shows up at 10:30am. So he was utterly useless to me so I send him back. Worst part is he tells lies to the company that he worked and took my money. When I informed the call centre they are just telling me that our backend will resolve. And it’s already 3 days and they still say 48 hours. Absolutely worst experience and I do not recommend this app atall. ### 1/5 — Beware!! It is a Scam *2026-01-05, version 2.6.7* Their business model: somehow get that First (and may be the Last) order from a new customer, mint money and go away. You get sales call, but no support, no feedback calls, nothing. You placed an order, paid, after that nobody cares. 4+ rating is a scam, looks like fake reviews. This is just wow! Zero Responsibility. ### 1/5 — Absolutely Pathetic & Unprofessional Service *2026-01-03* I booked a Pro Chef Service 20 days in advance for a 31st December party for 20 people. On the day of the event, the chef called me at 2:50 PM—just 10 minutes before his reporting time—and bluntly cancelled, saying “these guys don’t pay us on time, so I’m cancelling today’s service.” This internal issue was shockingly taken out on the customer. Post this, the Coox support team kept assuring me that a replacement chef would come, but no one ever turned up. Zero ownership, zero accountability. To make matters worse, I had also booked a kitchen cleaner for 7 PM the same day. He did arrive, I politely asked him to wait at reception till 10 PM (as dinner would be served then). He eventually ran away without doing any work. Because of Coox’s sheer incompetence: ₹8,000 worth of ingredients/perishables went to waste I was forced to arrange last-minute catering at ₹2,500 per person, costing me another ₹50,000 My New Year’s party plans were completely disrupted Despite all this, I have not received any refund from Coox till date. No compensation, no apology, no resolution. This was not just bad service—it was irresponsible, unprofessional, and extremely stressful, especially on a day like 31st December. Coox completely failed to deliver on every promise. I would strongly advise people NOT to rely on Coox for important occasions or parties. ### 1/5 — Extremely disappointing experience – false promises and poor service *2026-01-01* Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Absolute fraud. COOX charged ₹8,504 for cook services, including ₹999 for a “professional chef” (Jagat) who never showed up. Instead, an unskilled cook arrived 2 hours late and ruined the entire menu. Gullouti kebabs were replaced with mutton pakoda, and dahi ke sholey had no dahi—just maida pakodas. Food quality was so bad we had to throw most of it away. Paid ₹2,477 extra for waiter and cleaning, yet the waiter had to be told to serve food and the kitchen was left filthy with dirty utensils. After 4 years of repeated false promises—“this time it will be better”—the service has only gotten worse. Overpriced, misleading, and completely unreliable. Chef Manisha arrived with her co-chef right on time, and we had chosen a menu with 2 starters, 2 main courses, jeera rice, naan, and dessert and every single dish turned out absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, well-presented, and full of flavor. You could really tell they knew what they were doing. Also, a special mention for their professionalism. They cleaned every utensil they used and even wiped down the kitchen platform before leaving, which we truly appreciated. I’d suggest not going by random online reviews. Our experience was top-notch from start to finish.
