## What is Coptic Church Assignments?

Coordinate every liturgical responsibility in your Coptic Orthodox parish — from your phone.

Coptic Church Assignments replaces the spreadsheets, group chats, and printed schedules priests, leaders, and deacons juggle every week. Daily readings, altar service rotations, event check-ins, and the daily Synaxarium all live in one place — on every servant's phone, in real time.

Daily Readings — Annual, Lent, Holy Week, Pascha, Fifty Days, Apostles' Fast
Open today's Pauline, Catholic, Acts, Psalm, and Gospel in Arabic, English, or Coptic. Every liturgical season aligned to authoritative source text.

Reading Assignments
Admins and leaders assign specific readings to servants for any service. Servants get a push notification, accept or decline in-app, and see the full passage — never just a verse reference.

Smart Altar Service Scheduling
Generate fair, rotation-aware altar schedules in seconds. Configure service days, rank composition (Reader / Subdeacon / Deacon / Archdeacon), named altars per location, and serving-day preferences per servant. The algorithm respects parent-child altar pairing for minors, language coverage per altar, gap-week constraints, and cross-church conflicts. Smart defaults skip dates already covered by earlier schedules.

Edit Anything, Anytime — Even After Publishing
Swap a deacon, add someone new, or rebalance after a last-minute change. Every edit notifies the affected servants automatically. A preview shows where a new deacon will land and whether they're already committed elsewhere in the same period.

Cross-Church Deacon Lookup
Multi-parish admins can search any deacon across every church they manage to see exactly when and where they're scheduled — including past 12 months of history. Swap, unassign, or remove from any schedule in one tap.

PDF Export & Sharing
Export any altar schedule as a clean PDF — per-altar grid or date-grouped list. Share via Email, SMS, WhatsApp, or Files in two taps.

Check-In & Attendance
Mark yourself or your family checked in at any active service. Auto check-in supported per parish for regular attendees. Leaders see live attendance counts.

Daily Synaxarium
Commemorations of the saints in Arabic and English, alongside the day's readings.

Multi-Church Support
Belong to more than one parish? Subscribe to multiple churches, switch between them with a tap, and configure preferences per parish independently.

Built With Priests, Deacons, and Servants
Designed in close collaboration with Coptic Orthodox clergy and lay servants. Respects rank-based serving, parent-child altar pairing, multi-language coverage (Arabic + English + Coptic) per altar, and feast-day flagging for manual review before publishing.

A quiet, organized, faithful service — for everyone in the church.

### 5/5 — Easily the most peak app OAT

*2026-05-30*

This app is way to peak, super easy and very reliable, clean, and very fast and reliable to start off the week and end the day.

### 5/5 — LOVE THIS APP

*2026-04-05*

This app is honestly incredible 🔥

Coptic Church Assignments makes everything SO much easier — no more confusion about readings, schedules, or who’s serving. The interface is super clean and easy to use, and the notifications actually keep you on track without being annoying.

I really like how you can accept assignments and see everything in one place — it just makes church organization feel way more modern and smooth. The calendar feature is also clutch, especially during busy seasons like Pascha.

You can tell this app was made with care for the church community. It’s simple, helpful, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do perfectly.

100% recommend to anyone involved in church services 🙌

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### KeyboardFix — 2026-08-21

Setting up is finally simple. A new guided setup walks you through choosing your church, adding your phone number, and picking your reading languages — one step at a time. The pile of pop-ups that used to greet you at sign-in is gone; one gentle banner now tracks anything left to finish.
Never miss a service. Altar service reminders now arrive automatically on the Monday and Friday before your service — by push notification, text message, or both, following your notification settings.
Confirm by text. Reply ACCEPT or DECLINE to assignment texts and reminders to respond right from your messages — no need to open the app.
Plus: smoother keyboard behavior on search screens and forms, and many fixes throughout.

• New sign-ins (Google & Apple) now move smoothly from sign-up to home — no more getting stuck on profile setup.

• Add and manage multiple dependents (children/young servers) more easily.
• Updating your profile now walks you through your reading languages and notification preferences in one pass.

• Behind the scenes: improvements to admin tools for church leaders (activity log, notification tracking) and overall stability.

• Profile improvements and various bug fixes.
Thank you for serving with us!

### Altar scheduling — 2026-06-18

What's New in v1.6.0
Altar scheduling — reminders & reassignment

Smarter reminders: confirmation reminders now show the correct date/lead-time (no more "in 48 hours" on a service weeks away), and never nag about past services. Leaders can remind an individual deacon — both pending and already-accepted — right from the schedule, event, and deacon-search screens.
Better reassignment: the replacement picker now shows each candidate's rank, age, preferred altar, last-served date, and fairness indicators (assignments this cycle, accepted/rejected, "serving elsewhere that day") so leaders can pick fairly at a glance.
Can't make it after accepting? Deacons can now Reject an assignment they'd already accepted; it returns to the leader for reassignment and notifies them.
Altar scheduling — management

Generator fix: schedules now fill all configured slots per altar (previously could leave one empty even with eligible deacons).
Manual add: leaders can add a deacon to a specific altar/event — filling open slots — from both the schedule and event screens, on draft and published schedules, without regenerating.
Redesigned Schedule Details screen: a single full-height, easy-to-scroll list, a slimmer header, tidier action menu, and past dates grayed out so you focus on what's upcoming.
Terminology: "Altar Servers" is now "Altar Deacons" throughout the app.
Departed names / commemorations

Richer saved names: add first/last name, relationship, and date of departure.
Annual memorials: mark a departed loved one as recurring, and their name is automatically included in the first Sunday Divine Liturgy after the anniversary, every year.
Liturgy reminders: an optional notification inviting you to submit departed names for an upcoming liturgy, plus a heads-up when a name is added — with a new opt-out toggle.
