## What is Copy VIN?

Recognizes the VIN in a photo from a gallery or camera and copies it as text to the clipboard. After recognition, it is possible to copy the VIN both completely (all 17 characters) and partially, for example, only the last 7 characters (useful when working with BMW VIN).
It is possible to change the number of characters to be copied when partially copying VIN.
The orientation of the photo does not matter. "Copy VIN" will rotate the photo itself, read the VIN from the optimal angle and circle it with a red rectangle. Double tap in the photo brings the circled VIN closer. The VIN copied to the clipboard can be used (pasted) in applications Safari, Messages, Mail and others. It is also possible to use the copied VIN on Mac, thanks to the "Universal clipboard" function.
The history stores the 300 most recently copied license plates, which you can re-copy or obtain vehicle information from them.
It is possible to recognize photos from other applications through the "Share" menu.
Recognized or transmitted through the clipboard from another VIN application, you can get basic information about the car, such as make, model, year of manufacture, engine specifications, safety, availability of auxiliary systems, weight and more.
Based on the data obtained, you can create a document in PDF format. The document will also include information on the date of its preparation. If necessary, you can send this document by e-mail, save it on the device, transfer it to a printer for printing, send it via instant messenger, etc.
The received data and its volume depend on the availability of such data on the server. For vehicles intended for the North American market or vehicles manufactured in the United States, the data volume is expanded.
When you install Copy VIN, you can make several test requests at no extra charge. Then you need to purchase a package of 100 requests.
The application saves all the VIN information received from the server for which it was requested. The list of VINs for which such information is stored can be seen in the information history. When you select any number from the list, a screen with basic data about this number and a choice of actions, such as copying, re-requesting data from the server, viewing the saved data, is displayed.
The last 100 numbers with information are stored in the history of 30 days, and then deleted as outdated.
Thanks to the function "Prevention of redundant requests from the server", as well as the function of local data storage, rational spending of requests is carried out. If you uninstall and reinstall the application, the remaining requests are saved due to the synchronization of data on the number of available requests in iCloud.
If information is requested for VIN, for which there is an actual record of information on the device, then the stored information is displayed first. In this case, at the bottom of the screen, under the vehicle data table, a notification appears: "Data from the local copy." At the same time, the data update button is displayed in the upper right part of the screen, when you click on it, the data for this VIN is downloaded again from the server and the history information is updated.

The maximum time for recognizing VIN from a photo: 5 seconds (for devices with an Apple A13 Bionic processor, and a photo with a minimum size of the VIN displayed on them, with minimal lighting).
