After that, it lost it and never reconnected. Note Carrier website also has this issue. Fortunately programming at the thermostat is fairly painless. Just don’t bother with the app. ### 1/5 — Behind the times *2024-11-03, version 2.6.2* We moved into a house with a Cor thermostat. It seems to operate fine. The scheduling feature is intuitive and not so free as to be confusing. The problem is that the thermostat suddenly resets without warning, losing the date and time. So, I attempted to setup the app: a big waste of time. The app is unreliable: i tried a few times and every time it felt like there was nothing i could do to get it to connect. I got stuck in “AP ACTIVE 3 of 8” 3 times and had no idea how i was supposed to obtain the needed PIN. Being a renter, I do not have the instruction manual but reviews online dissuaded me from giving it a more dedicated attempt. I am done with this product. Yet i remain hopeful that some home owner somewhere might read this review and save him-(or her)self from a ton of future grief by steering clear of this outdated tech. ### 1/5 — IOS 18 Compatibility *2024-11-01, version 2.6.2* Every other App on IOS 18 works but this one! An Update, Patch, or fix would be great since I paid to have a Smart Thermostat. ### 1/5 — Make time to work for your thermostat *2024-10-12, version 2.6.2* If you buy or have this product, make sure you have plenty of spare time so that you can work for your thermostat and if you are lucky, perhaps you’ll be able to log on and have it control heat and cool from your phone. most irritating and poor app. Should have bought a nest. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2024-10-11, version 2.6.2* Worst app ever ### 1/5 — Very frustrating to use this app *2024-10-05, version 2.6.2* We noticed that at night the temperature is very high, really we never looked at the thermostat, today I noticed it was marking 81 F, so o tried to adjust it manually without success. Then try to recover password and remembered last time I tried to do it never got an email and support suggested to submit the password I wanted by email so they could configure it (not very secure of course). Attempted to recover password hopping after a year this would not be an issue , but the problem persist, I created a new account and when I tried to add a new device to the app, although I provided full acces to location services, the app stands is not enable and I have to manually tu the address, tried like 10 times adding the address, the first 3-4 it hung after manually introducing the address, then the 5-10 times it gave me a timeout error in seconds. Really really bad app. Thermostat can’t be configured, the screen shows cool to 74 heat to 72, but temperature is 82 and can’t be set lower. ### 1/5 — Non functional *2024-10-02, version 2.6.2* The app hasn’t worked since ios18 came out , who’s the developer-engineer and why aren’t they doing their job ? ### 1/5 — Useless garbage app that stopped working! *2024-08-30, version 2.6.2* I rarely review stuff but this app just pushes my buttons every few weeks! It just stops working. Now, I’m getting a ‘connection timeout’ error. I literally curse my builders for putting this garbage thermostat in my unit. I’m gonna wait until thanksgiving to purchase a few ecobees or nest and get rid of this garbage thermostat once and for all! ### 1/5 — Connection issues. *2024-08-27, version 2.6.2* Seems like I’m not the only one. Had the app since I’ve moved into my brand new home. Only till a week ago the app stops working completely. Keeps both my thermostats at 74 even if I change it thru the app. Have to uninstall and install app multiple times for it to even work. ### 1/5 — This doesn’t work *2024-08-27, version 2.6.2* I have never bee able to check savings through the app. It constantly says 0$. I have constant warnings for every part of my system and when I contact my installer they check it and find nothing wrong and tell me the app is buggy. Lately the app does not show me what the thermostat is doing and I can’t do anything to set the thermostat, fan, humidity, heating, cooling, scheduling, nothing. Ever this has to be done at the thermostat. When I check to see if it got signed out, it shows that it’s online. Why this app still exist? ### 1/5 — HORRIBLY IRRELEVANT WUIRKY *2024-08-22, version 2.6.2* This app has always been a problem. I have to log in every day multiple times. It's freezing so I uninstall and reinstall. Today it simply spins endlessly. Cor support says I need a new on this one is out of date 4 years later. Impossible and support disconnected while I was talking to them 53 minutes and didn't call back. When I called back VM said closed for the day. I finally reached another live person who now says the CÔR application has connectivity issues,And that they are working on it. But they have no idea when it will be fixed. It just gets worse and worse. The rating of 1.2 stars is far too high. If it’s negative number four available, it would be -10!!! ### 1/5 — Subject: Appalling Performance of the Cor Thermostat App *2024-08-21, version 2.6.2* This is by far the worst app I have ever used in my life! Complete trash! Useless! It never works as designed or intended, making it utterly frustrating to use. The developer's negligence is clear—there hasn't been any Operation & Maintenance (O&M) on this app in four years. It's no wonder it has poor performance reviews and low-quality ratings. The lack of updates and care is blatantly obvious, and it’s unacceptable for a product that consumers rely on for their home’s comfort and efficiency. This app is a disgrace, and the developers should be ashamed of releasing such a subpar product. This product shouldn’t be graded in stars. Now if we’re talking dumpsters, there’s not enough of those to award to this product. It takes about 5-10 minutes for my system to respond to whatever this thermostat has been set to do. Don’t even think about using the app to control your thermostat. I heard a mythical tale that a homeowner was actually able to control their thermostat from this app one time before it made them sign in again. I still haven’t been able to use my app to do anything. How lucky that person must feel to have experienced one time what most of us seek from this product. ### 1/5 — Abysmal - profoundly bad *2025-08-09, version 2.6.2* This is the only app review I have ever written. The consumer protection agency should investigate the complete absence of control provided by this product and its manufacturer. If you’re seeking frustration in setting up your home thermostat, connecting it to the app, and connecting both to your local network, then you are in luck because frustration abounds in the set up process here. After approximately 20 tries, I’ve been unsuccessful at completing the product registration into the app. I know my experience is not unique, and that the manufacturer could care less. Thanks to the core and Carrier turds running the ship. This affair is extraordinarily awful. For any homeowners out there, I recommend choosing another product entirely, and possibly abandoning Carrier branded thermostats and equipment. It’s that bad. I really feel ripped off. ### 1/5 — App stopped working *2025-07-30, version 2.6.2* App stopped working. Was always iffy on when it would work before but past two days it keeps saying “timed out” immediately despite nothing changing on my end. Reinstalled app and restarted our internet and it still won’t work. ### 1/5 — Absolutely useless. *2025-05-22, version 2.6.2* So I bought a home that had a COR thermostat. Downloaded this app. Signed up for an account. The app says it was created successfully. So I tried to login using the account I just created. Invalid username password. So I tried to do a password reset. Never got an email to reset the password. I wondered if I entered the wrong email address, so I tried to create another account. It says the email is already taken, so the first attempt must’ve worked. It’s just useless for logging in. The Cor app is beyond useless. ### 1/5 — Terrible !! *2025-04-21, version 2.6.2* I’m trying to link my thermostat account into app . Showing time out . It doesn’t work !! But the app won’t access cameras or allow to add cameras ?? ### 5/5 — Love this app! *2021-02-13, version 2.6.2* Why the low rating? I waited over a year and a half to download this app due to the rating but folks are far off IMO. I’ve been using this for half a year and it’s flawless and simple. Linking to the app might be a challenge for most people but the app works flawlessly and simply once linked. Download, use it and enjoy it! ### 5/5 — Oh where oh where is my Ecobee? *2018-10-30* Had an ecobee and loved it. Awesome reporting features. However, its interface with my Carrier was a little klunky. When I needed a new thermostat, I went with the recommendation of my HVAC vendor. Supposedly the Côr 7 offered even more than the Ecobee. Wrong! The thermostat is fine, but the app is horrific. The instructions for setting up the thermostat and app were very convuleted. The app can’t even do a fraction of what the Ecobee could do. Quite useless. I’m now looking for a new Ecobee and quite possibly a new HVAC vendor. ### 5/5 — Love my new a/c *2017-12-14* I absolutely love the dehumidification that this System has. I installed my two stage carrier with other thermostat that the a/c company sold me. When my neighbor got his system install by a Carrier highly recommend company they installed with this Carrier controller/thermostat, what a difference the right controller makes. Now my air conditioning runs like it should and my electric bill & humidity went all the way down. I’m so upset at the company that sold my system with a 3rd party cheap thermostat. Did the change out and noted in the program that it was complete. I keep getting update alerts to change the filter. I think the problem is that whoever designed and wrote the app probably never used it to manage a Côr thermostat.
