## What is Coral Identifier?

Coral Identifier: Reef Corals helps you identify marine and reef corals from photos using AI-based image analysis. Simply take or upload a photo and receive a suggested coral identification designed specifically for saltwater tanks and reef aquariums.

This app is built for reef aquarium hobbyists who want a practical tool for photo-based coral identification while understanding that coral identification from images can be uncertain.

Coral Identifier analyzes visual features to suggest possible coral species commonly found in marine aquariums, including SPS, LPS, and soft corals. Identification results are presented with confidence levels and should be treated as guidance rather than guaranteed results.

For each identification, the app provides structured coral information such as coral type, general lighting and flow preferences, reef tank suitability, and basic care considerations to support reef aquarium decision-making.

Photo ID works best with clear, well-lit coral photos taken in reef aquariums. When confidence is low, the app avoids guessing and may return limited or no identification to ensure transparency and trust.

Coral Identifier is designed to support learning and decision-making for marine aquarium enthusiasts, not to replace expert knowledge or professional coral assessment.

### 1/5 — i really wished this worked

*2026-03-09*

I went to a Coral show and bought a bunch of corals. I bought this app to get the names of what I bought. Every one was incorrect. pointed at a three head lobophiylia It said it was a hammer Coral. wrong not even close. Pointed at a Duncan Coral. It said it was a torch. and on it went. now I’m stuck for a year and paid for a year and nothing is correct. . cannot unsubscribe and get my money back. i wanted to contact the author, but you can’t do that either so this is the only way to tell him this …. doesn’t work at all.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your feedback - and I’m really sorry this happened, especially after purchasing a yearly plan.
