### 1/5 — It doesn’t work for me.

*2025-08-25, version 3.7.11*

Had my car 10 weeks, has charged via app scheduling successfully twice. Every other time I’ve had to manually intervene. Back and forth to Cord engineers ( very helpful ) but problem not solved. I conclude it’s the app that’s faulty.

### 1/5 — Use Monta instead

*2025-07-10, version 3.6.07*

What a disaster of an app! I was expecting a slick and easy to use app, but with limited functionality, no obvious quick charge option and confusing scheduling, the app really is abysmal. I’m switching back to Monta, which does all of the above.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is hopeless

*2026-05-13, version 4.6.0*

Have to set up a new schedule every time I use it. App always defaults to next charge Tuesday regardless of when set.

### 1/5 — Limited functionality

*2026-05-01, version 4.5.1*

It would be really helpful if I could just plug it in to charge and set it to charge for a certain amount of time. I don’t want to schedule it to charge at the same time every day, just when I plug it in why can’t I say ok charge for 4 hours? Instead I have to set an alarm on my phone to remind me to open the app and stop the charging. This feels really basic, why can’t the app do this?

### 1/5 — Is it broken

*2026-04-04, version 4.2.2*

Once again the app seems to not be working. Leading to car not charging. It should not be this hard.

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2026-03-20, version 4.2.2*

Not user friendly at all. Awful instruction manual

### 1/5 — Not charging

*2026-02-18, version 4.1.23*

Doesn’t charge effectively

### 1/5 — Charger is ok but the app is useless

*2025-12-28, version 4.0.6*

The app asks me to sign in every time I need to use it. Never stays signed in for convenience. No! I have to log in every time I need it. Then, what’s the point???
And the password manager can’t find their username/passwords because the app name doesn’t match how they store your details.
The charger itself is ok, it works 99% of the time but the app is horrible and pretty useless. I just use the rfid card it came with it and seriously thinking about deleting the app because it never works or helps me when I need it.

### 1/5 — Cord EV

*2025-12-24, version 4.0.6*

Home charger
Why is this thing soo complicated. 4 different modes of charging. Has to rely on Wi-Fi , a smart phone and App that is frequently updated and keeps requiring you to log in to charge. A preset charging time that you can’t alter because it clashes with another time beyond any reasonable person to fathom out how that works. Why can’t you just plug in and charge without all the Smartphone apps, Wi-Fi. Don’t even try and connect two phones with different people because this confuses the smart charger by telling it one of you wants to charge and the other doesn’t. If someone could produce a charger without all the faffy gizmos that only a teenager can work out I’d take this thing off the wall tomorrow. It’s so inconvenient I might go back to petrol.

### 1/5 — Avoid if possible

*2025-10-09, version 3.8.4*

Cord kept pushing me to move from Monta Charge to their own app. Don’t bother. The Cord app CONSTANTLY doesn’t work and has significantly less options than Monta. It’s an absolute mess of an app. I switched back to Monta and have no issues.

### 1/5 — Gaurav

*2025-10-02, version 3.8.4*

One of the worst app I have used or trying to use!! It won’t even let me log in. When I go on there website on safari I’m able to log in but the same details don’t work on the app.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-09-03, version 3.8.1*

Had this charger since June and still can’t get it to work

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-04-23, version 4.4.0*

I have been using Cord for the past two years without any issues. I had a problem once with the device, but customer service arranged for a technician to inspect it, and it was resolved.

Regarding scheduled charging, it works properly as long as no schedule is set in the car itself. Simply set the charging schedule in the Cord app, and it works as expected.

### 5/5 — Cord ev 5 star

*2026-04-17, version 4.3.3*

Very happy with the purchase

### 5/5 — Great App - Easy to Use

*2025-10-23, version 3.8.6*

Works great for my new Skoda Enyaq!! Very intuitive and easy to use which is what I need being a self declared technophobe!!

### 4/5 — Better than Monta

*2025-10-05, version 3.8.4*

Great app which works effortlessly to allow charging plans to be made. Simple boost feature. Not had any major issues since switching to the Cord app from Monta. Only slight gripe is that I am on the Tomato energy tariff - this has three different rates and I cannot programme all of the times into the app. It’s no big issue and the tariff is a bit niche. It still works for what I need as I’d only be charging overnight anyway and I can program that in without issue.

### 3/5 — Still missing functionality compared to Monta

*2025-10-22, version 3.8.6*

I love the intelligent scheduling and the fact it works with the Octopus variable tariffs automatically for the best charging times, but the biggest problem is that, once charging is complete, it stops functioning unless you unplug and plug the car back in.

My Ford Kuga never prepares the cabin anymore before departure as it’s not able to charge during the prep time. Please add the ability to keep the charger ready to charge until unplugged when using intelligent charging and the car is fully charged.

### 2/5 — So glitchy

*2025-12-23, version 4.0.6*

The first review I've ever bothered to write, in the hope it prompts some action from Cord or the app developer. Frequently the car fails to start charging at the alloted time, or stops charging shortly after starting...I've had to go out and unplug and plug back in a few times after midnight now, which is obviously a real faff. My friends who have other chargers/apps have a seamless experience, so it's not impossible to achieve. Please look into this.

### 2/5 — Works great, until it doesn’t

*2025-12-16, version 4.0.2*

Has worked reliably and consistently for 3 months since my install, until very recently when the following issues occurred: Plugged in car, shows as unplugged. Unplug, plug back in, then the next issue: Charging started instantly rather than scheduled as I’ve always used it. Stopped the charge. Had to then unplug and plug back in to be ready for the scheduled charge. Charged that night as per regular schedule. Has charged again since as expected per the schedule. Next issue: Since the unplugged status and unscheduled instant charge, the “last session” data is actually from the previous session before that - always one session behind. Also, as a general UX point, plugged-in time is completely useless as a metric. Charging time is actually useful. I honestly can’t understand why anyone would need to measure plugged in time ever, especially over actual charging time. So, why only two stars? When it comes to charging an EV, my only car, a reliable and dependable solution is a basic requirement. A requirement, not a perk. It doesn’t take much to destroy confidence when the combination of app and charger begin misbehaving.

### 2/5 — Connection with charger isn’t great.

*2025-10-22, version 3.8.6*

App connection to charger isn’t great, have to plug/unplug charger and authorise on app multiple times before it works. Sometimes it start charging immediately instead of based on schedule.

### 2/5 — Disaster of an App

*2025-08-07, version 3.6.08*

This is a really poor app, limited feedback on whether car is connected. No functionality to see if it’s even ready to charge.. what a freaking disaster.

Update: It has nothing to do with the car, it’s everything to do with the firmware update from Cord that’s rendered the App & charger NOT working together. My car charges perfectly well on a colleagues 7.4kw charger and his Pod charger App…

If Cord rectifies my problem, I’ll update my review.
