## What is Cordada?

Cordada tells you when the rock grips.

This isn't another climbing guidebook. It's an instrument: it cross-references which way each wall actually faces — worked out from the terrain — with the sun and shade on it at that hour, the last few days of rain against how porous its rock type is, humidity, wind and the dew point. The result is the Friction Score, hour by hour, sector by sector. You'll know whether the early start is worth it, whether the wall will be dry on Saturday, and what time the sun comes off it.

THE CATALOG
· Hundreds of thousands of routes, across tens of thousands of sectors in 80 countries.
· Community topos, with the lines drawn over the real photo.
· Each sector's grades drawn as a mountain range, with the routes you've done.
· Search by route, crag, town or grade, or browse the guidebook by region.
· Grades in French, YDS, UIAA, UK and Font.
· Route missing? Add it and it goes straight in.

THE CONDITIONS
· Friction Score, and it tells you why: "Wall in the shade · cool rock, grips", "Rained 6h ago · rock still 40% wet, poor grip".
· Where to go?: the best crags near you for the conditions.
· Season calendar for every crag, and its closures if it has any.
· Geological map of Spain (IGME).

YOUR CREW
· Meetup board: post a plan or join someone else's, with the Friction Score for its spot at its hour.
· Cordada Match: find a belay partner in your area, by swiping.
· My crew: share your live location only with the people you choose.
· Belay endorsements: what your partners say about how you belay.

YOUR GYM
· Nearly 4,000 climbing gyms on the map, with directions to the door.
· Join yours: once three of you are in, your room opens. Missing? Suggest it.

YOUR LOGBOOK
· Log every attempt and every send, with a photo and the conditions of the moment.
· Grade pyramid, consolidated grade and a send card to share.

AWAY FROM THE ROCK
· Log finger, pulling, endurance, power or cardio sessions, with your effort.
· Hangboard and interval timer, with voice.
· Finger, pull-up and core tests, to see how you change.
· Gym mode: every attempt at the gym goes to your Logbook with one tap.

ON YOUR WRIST
· Log attempts from your Apple Watch, at the gym and on rock, with the route from the list.
· The timer on your watch, and record your approach from the moment you leave the car.

AT THE WALL
· Augmented reality for the approach and the sun's path.
· Approach trails: GPS breadcrumbs left by the community.
· Download a whole crag to use it with no signal.

FREE, PREMIUM AND PRO
Free forever: the map, the catalog, the Friction Score right now, augmented reality, your logbook, the whole social side in your own area, sessions, timers, tests and the Apple Watch for logging. We don't paywall the community.

Premium (€4.99/month or €39.99/year, one week free) adds the hour-by-hour and next-days Friction Score, Where to go?, whole crags offline, your stats and what you log as charts, travel mode for Match and the board, and the crag on your Apple Watch: map, topos, approach and Friction Score on your watch face.

Pro (€9.99/month or €99.99/year) adds Suggestions for every week: ideas for what to work on for the grade you're after, around your days and your time, based on what you log and your tests. Plus what holds you back for your grade, how you recover from your watch's heart rate, and today's session on your Apple Watch. They are general suggestions, not medical advice.

Prices vary by country. On Fridays the full Friction Score belongs to everyone.

MADE BY A CLIMBER
Cordada is made by one person, in Spain, with no investors. If something breaks, write to us from the app: it gets fixed.

Climbing carries a risk of serious injury and death. Cordada gives you guidance; the decision and the judgment on the mountain are yours. Always check knot, rope end and belay device.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2 — 2026-10-22

NEW IN 2.2

CORDADA IN YOUR LANGUAGE
· The whole app, the watch app and the widgets now also come in French, German, Catalan, Italian and Polish.
· If your iPhone is set to a language the app doesn't have yet, you'll see it in English.
· The timer's voice speaks the app's language.

AND ALSO
· Invite your friends with a shorter link.
· Fixes to translations and plurals.

### 2.1 — 2026-10-20

NEW IN 2.1

PARKING SPOTS WITH THEIR OWN CARD
· Tap the "P" and choose how to drive there: Apple Maps or Google Maps, all the way to the parking lot, not just to the town.
· Sleeping in a van: allowed, not allowed or not sure, with how many people confirm it and when.
· Restrictions at a glance: paid, limited spaces, rough access road, closed seasonally or no parking at night.
· Comments with your name, to tell the next climber what's useful. Climbers share them and Cordada doesn't check them: always respect local signs and rules.
· The Parking layer is now on by default on the map. Press and hold near a crag to add one right there.
· Each crag's sheet on the map has its own parking section, with the 3D view.

CLOSURES AND ACCESS
· Seen a closure sign or a blocked access? On the sector, "Report a closure or restriction": seasonal closure, climbing not allowed or restricted access, with where you saw it. We review it before it goes live.
· A sector closed today shows on the map as a no-entry sign.

YOUR LOGBOOK, WITH WHAT HAPPENED
· On every attempt, "How it went": the Friction Score and the weather at that moment, plus your heart rate.
· If you climbed with your Apple Watch, the exact time and your time on the wall. On routes, with Pro, "From the watch": meters climbed, height and falls with their g-force. It's in testing: the detector is still being calibrated, so treat it as an estimate.
· Sent routes with your watch? When you open your iPhone, it offers to create the cards for those sends, all at once.

AND ALSO
· An approach recorded on the way down now points the right way on its own, and whoever recorded it can reverse it.
· If you start a free trial, the app shows when it ends and, with notifications on, reminds you a day before you're charged.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-10-16

NEW IN 2.0.1
· On the Friends map, "N more here" now expands: tap it to see every attempt at that spot.

AND IF YOU'RE COMING FROM 1.4, THIS IS 2.0:

Cordada 2.0: what you do away from the rock, and Cordada on your Apple Watch.

A NEW TAB, FREE
· Log your sessions: fingers, pulling, endurance, power, mobility, cardio or another sport, with how hard it felt from 1 to 10. Every exercise explains what it is.
· Hangboard and interval timer: twelve presets (repeaters 7:3, max hangs, Tabata, boulder 4×4, ARC, campus…), with voice and a line on what each one is for.
· Finger, pull-up and core tests, to see how you change.
· Gym mode: pick your gym, and every attempt and send goes to your Logbook with one tap.
· Your week or month at a glance: what you've logged, your rock and gym days, and the workouts your watch left in Apple Health.

WITH PREMIUM
· "How you're doing": what you log, as charts. Your tests over time, your best send each month, what you do each week and how hard it feels.
· Your heart rate by grade, on rock and at the gym, from your watch.

WITH PRO: SUGGESTIONS FOR EVERY WEEK
· Ideas for what to work on each week, for the grade you're after, around your rock days and the time you have, based on what you log and your tests. Exercises rotate, you can see what's coming, and we show you where the suggestions come from.
· What holds you back for your grade: your fingers and pulling against the reference for that grade. No rankings.
· Before a hard day, a heads-up based on your heart rate variability, resting heart rate and sleep from Apple Health. It only suggests: you decide.
· Today's session on your Apple Watch, exercise by exercise, with an explanation of each one.
· "Do it today": plans changed? Bring any session of the week to today and the rest rearranges itself; if your fingers need rest, it tells you.
· With your watch's heart rate, how you recover between attempts and between sets.

These are general suggestions, not medical advice. If something hurts, stop.

CORDADA ON YOUR APPLE WATCH
· Free: log attempts from your wrist, at the gym and on rock, with the crag, sector and route from the list; they land in your Logbook on their own. The timer, with different taps for hang and rest. Record your approach from the moment you leave the car. Anything you couldn't wrap up at the wall waits on your iPhone, in "To complete".
· With Premium, the crag on your wrist: the map of crags and sectors, numbered topos, following the approach and the whole crag with no signal. Plus the Friction Score on the sector screen and on your watch face.

GETTING THERE, FREE
· Parking: where to leave the car at each crag, with driving directions. It comes from recorded approaches, and you can add or move spots, with a note.
· The approach in 3D, from the parking spot to the sector, on satellite imagery with relief.
· The first time you record an approach, you choose whether to share your trails. They're shown in full and without your name.

AND ALSO
· Easier topos: draw them by tapping the start, the bolts and the anchor, with a magnifier. Without drawing, they're saved as a photo of the wall.
· In Match, a profile photo and the crags where each person climbs.
· Search remembers your filters.
· Share a send's card from your Logbook whenever you like: from its entry, or with a long press in the list.
· Notifications arrive in your app's language.
· Where to go? shows the best window and the day's score, warns you if it rained and won't suggest anywhere that's closed. Seasonal closures show on the sector, the crag and the map.
· Whoever creates a meetup can now edit it, and if the time changes, everyone who's in gets a heads-up.
· Several sectors on the same spot on the map? Suggest where each one goes.
· The Friction Score for outdoor artificial walls now counts night, rain, sun and wind.
