It keeps on messing me up. And I just started! But now it’s slow and boring. I think it’s time to uninstall this. I had a group of friends that played too and after this update they already uninstalled it. I hope it goes back to normal or I’m just going to have to find another game that does the same satisfaction for me. New levels ruined a good thing *2018-11-28, version 1.5.2* For the past week or two, I’ve been addicted to the simple fun of this game. Core in the center. Blast it. Today, it got some refresh. And now my level 5xx has gone from mindless twitch fun to some impossible thing with 3 cores, one that’s bouncing with the shield pieces coming from so many angles it’s impossible to play. :( I loved this game and the mechanics of it, but the new update means I’ve leveled past the point of playability. :( The simplicity of one core meant you could weave in and out of the pieces and use your skill. Now, it’s an impossible, frustrating mess past level 500. (Edit.... ok, I ground it to level 1250 something over Thanksgiving... I figured out what the issue is with the new levels... and my joy vs the need for the difficulty... it’s that bouncing core. It’s basically a random kill machine. I.e. the strategy for the shielded cores is simple in that great KISS way of all games where you weave in and out and try to limit the locations you destroy cores from. But in the middle of that flow, the bounce will sometimes just trap you. Boom. Done. No skill can save you. Also, I’m not sure if it’s a feature or a bug, but randomly (? Or when you flip to an interval of 250 on levels?). You get one shot at a super level where everything is doubled up. Twice the power ups and twice the cores. Also also, it would be nice to see the scores or levels with the ranks. I’m at the top ten on three ranks and it would be nice to know how far I can go. Finally, an idea for levels of the kind I like would be a progressive mode. Where each destroyed core regenerates a new one and resets your shield and takes you to a higher level of all settings. Also, putting it to 5 stars. It’s really simple and repetitive but that’s what we love in games and it is extremely addictive. I find myself constantly wanting to play it. It’s starts kinda slow and boring but once you level up a bit it’s so chaotic and entertaining. However I would like to see more customization coming to the game or like challenges, Or different objects to destroy.
