## What is CoreFast?

CoreFast is a calm intermittent fasting tracker that keeps your data on your phone. Pick a plan, tap Start, and see where your fast is at a glance.
No account. No ads. No surprise charges.
Ending a fast early is recorded neutrally, never as a failure.

Today and plans
• A live timer that stays accurate if you close the app or go offline
• Daily plans from 12:12 to 23:1, plus 5:2, alternate-day, Sunrise to sunset and a custom plan
• Each plan explains what a day on it looks like before you switch
• Water tracking with your own daily goal
• Optional local reminders, with quiet hours
• Optional streaks with a weekly rest day, and challenges you choose to join
• Longer fasts come with a short sheet on what to expect and when to stop

Food log (optional)
• Log what you eat during your eating window
• Scan packaged foods by barcode (you can turn this off in Settings)
• See calories that other apps log to Apple Health

Health readings (optional)
Connect Apple Health to see last night's sleep, steps, active calories, resting heart rate, HRV and glucose next to your fast. CoreFast only reads; it never writes to Apple Health. Vitals shows your readings over 7 days, 30 days or all time, compared only with your own usual range, and a summary you can share if you choose. Readings are shown as recorded, not as an assessment.

Insights and Learn
Trends, history and a month calendar show how your fasts have gone. Week on week compares you only with yourself. Learn has 18 short reads in plain language, each with a link to its source. New to fasting? For your first four weeks, Today shows one short tip a day.

Circles (optional)
Fast alongside a few friends. Share your status, send a cheer, or run a group challenge, like Sugar free or a water goal, with a shared leaderboard. Updates are encrypted and pass through a relay that keeps them for up to 24 hours. Your fasting history and health readings are never sent.

Widgets, Watch and Siri
• Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy widgets; fast details stay hidden while your iPhone is locked
• A Live Activity and Dynamic Island countdown
• An Apple Watch app with one-tap End and Undo
• Siri, Shortcuts, and Controls for Control Center, the Lock Screen and the Action button

Private by design
Your fasts, food log, water and health readings stay on your device, stored encrypted. They are never sent to us or to any server. If you turn on barcode scanning, only the barcode number is looked up, at Open Food Facts. No account, no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking. Your location is used only if you choose the Sunrise to sunset plan, and is kept on your phone. Export a backup or spreadsheet whenever you like, or delete everything from Settings.

A note on safety
CoreFast is a tracking tool for general wellness. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. Fasting isn't right for everyone: talk to your clinician before you start, especially if you are pregnant, take medicines for diabetes, or have a history of disordered eating. Stop and eat if you feel unwell. A few private questions at the start can switch CoreFast to simple time logging, a quieter app with no streaks or longer plans.

### 5/5 — Simple, effective, and motivating for building healthier habits!

*2026-10-23*

I’ve been using CoreFast, and it’s been really helpful in tracking my fasting routine and staying consistent with my fitness goals. The app supports different fasting schedules, including 16:8 and 12:12, making it easier to choose a routine that works best for you.

The water intake tracking feature is another great addition that helps me stay hydrated throughout the day. I also appreciate the insights into circadian vitality and the various challenges, such as sugar-free days and walking after meals. Being able to invite friends to participate in these challenges makes the experience even more engaging and motivating.

Overall, CoreFast is a useful app for anyone looking to build healthier habits and stay consistent with their wellness goals.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.4 — 2026-10-22

The sky on Today follows the real sun, and Food shows protein, carbs and fat.

- **Sunrise and sunset.** The sun comes up and the moon comes out at your real sunrise and sunset, not on the hour, with a warm sky at dawn and dusk. A small sun sits at the top on clear days, a little lower in the morning and evening.
- **Rain, as hard as it falls.** Today shows light rain, rain, heavy rain, drizzle or a thunderstorm, from the rain actually measured.
- **Fresher weather.** It's checked up to twice a day now, only while the app is open, so an evening shower isn't missed. Nothing else about the weather changes: your approximate area only, and no tracking.
- **Protein, carbs and fat in Food.** Each meal shows them beside the calories, and the eating window adds them up. Typing a meal from a label? Add its protein, carbs and fat and the calories are worked out for you. A short note explains why protein matters while fasting. As always, a description, never a target.
- **Easier to read.** The Rest for a while button in Circles stands out on the background, and the date line on Today wraps cleanly at large text sizes.
- **Fixes,** including auto-start skipping a sunrise-to-sunset fast that starts at dawn on some summer days, the challenge card jumping back to a challenge, leaving a circle while it was still syncing, a rest dated in the future after a clock change, the backup reminder after a small clock correction, a weather check finishing after weather was turned off, and screen reader improvements in Food and the challenge bar.

Your fasting and health data stay on your phone. Weather requests carry no fasting or health data.

### 2.2.3 — 2026-10-20

Today now shows the weather where you are, and a tap on a challenge takes you straight to it.

- **Weather on Today.** The sky behind Today follows the weather where you are: clear, cloudy, fog, rain or night, with the temperature on the date line, together with the season. It's checked once a day, only while the app is open: from your network's general region, or your approximate location (about 10 km) if you allow it. No account, no identifier, and every request asks not to be tracked. Turn it off anytime in Settings › Appearance › Seasons & weather.
- **Rain comes from the real weather.** The separate rainy season is gone; the seasons stay.
- **Challenges, one tap away.** Tap a challenge in the bar at the bottom to go straight to it: yours on Today's Challenges card, a circle's to its group challenge.
- **A quiet backup reminder.** Now and then, a card on Today suggests saving a backup. Not now puts it away for a while.
- **Gentler on Android.** Milder vibration, and taps land where cards are while a page changes.
- **Many fixes,** including safer starts when a fast is moved earlier, rest periods in Circles across clock changes, the Insights tab highlight, Android back closing a picker first, the Quick Settings tile, Health Connect keeping your last readings, and putting the feeling check-in away once answered.

Your fasting and health data stay on your phone. Weather requests carry no fasting or health data.

### 2.2.2 — 2026-10-19

A Today that's yours to arrange, a streak with rest days, and XP that rewards showing up.

- **Your streak on Today.** A card shows your last two weeks at a glance, with rest days built in from the start. Tap it for the details, or turn it off in Settings.
- **Small moments.** A ripple when you start a fast, confetti when you reach your goal, and a gentler fall of petals when you end early. With Reduce Motion, a soft glow instead.
- **Edit Today.** Choose, hide and reorder Today's cards. Hold any card on Today to open it. Add Next fast, Your year, When hunger shows up or How you felt, and Learn now sits on Today too.
- **Seasonal touches.** A gentle tint behind Today for the season, and a short greeting on festival days where your phone's Region is set (Diwali, Lunar New Year, Ramadan and Eid, and 25 December). It uses only the date and your phone's Region setting, never your location, and nothing leaves your phone. Tap Hide on the greeting, or turn it off in Settings › Appearance.
- **A quiet close.** Today, Trends, Vitals, History and Food end with the CoreFast mark and a line saying your data stays on this phone.
- **Every day you fast counts.** Each day with a fast earns a 50 XP day bonus, whatever your plan. Time XP stops at 12 hours, so a longer fast never earns more.
- **Stopping early still counts.** A fast you end early still earns its day, because it's always okay to stop.
- **Fairer check-ins.** Hunger help and a fast-breaker note each earn XP once per fast.
- **Nothing lost.** Your XP and rank carry over from before the update.
- **Many fixes,** including widgets, the watch, notifications around clock changes, water history, backups on a phone with simple time logging, Undo after deleting a fast, Trends keeping your last reading, and screen-reader labels.

With simple time logging, the streak card, XP and celebrations stay off, as before.

Your fasting and health data stay on your phone.

### 2.2.1 — 2026-10-16

A calmer, clearer CoreFast, with more ways to look after yourself.

- **A fresh look.** Soft color glows and frosted cards on Today, Insights, Circles, Plan, and Food. Your timer, ring, and health strip stay the same. Reduce Transparency turns the glow off.
- **Everything CoreFast can do.** A searchable list in Settings and in a card on Today, next to Share this week. Tap a row to go straight to it.
- **Feeling unwell?** Hunger help now says plainly that it's okay to stop, with one tap to end your fast quietly.
- **A glucose note.** With glucose from Apple Health, a calm note appears if a reading during your fast is very low or very high. It's never an alert; your meter or CGM alarms come first.
- **Dawn (Fajr) start. **** Sunrise to sunset can begin at dawn, by the calculation method you choose.
- **How are you feeling?** A one-tap check-in on Today. After a few weeks, Trends describes how you felt alongside your fasts.
- **New in Trends.** Your year at a glance, when hunger shows up, and a picture of your week to share, right from Today too.
- **Tags and guided reads.** Tag a fast and filter History by tag. Learn has short reading paths.
- **Weeks start on Sunday** in History, Trends, and the weekly look back.
- **Ending a fast is just one tap. **** Celebrations wait on Today until you choose to open them.
- **Foldables and tablets.** The background and the cheer sheet now fill the screen after you unfold.
- **Many fixes,** including Undo after a restore, backups, auto-start, clock changes, Vitals text at large sizes and contrast.

Your fasting and health data stay on your phone.
