### 4/5 — So what’s happening with Corkz?

*2024-06-01*

I noticed that the Corkz app has been broken for a few weeks, unable to connect to the CellarTracker database. Are you guys working on this to fix it? I sure hope so. I love your app and your presentation of the wines.

### 2/5 — A great app -- until the scanner stopped working

*2023-11-02*

This used to be a great app for looking up wine at the store or in a restaurant to get community impressions.
However, you can no longer scan a bottle's barcode, and have the app pull up the wine, because the app returns the error 11:t "the scandit SDK validation failed. Make sure your app key is valid and check your account for available activations."
Multiple people have identified this problem without response from the developers.
If you don't mind typing in the wine information, which can be very difficult to get right, then the app is reasonable.

### 3/5 — Frustrations

*2021-12-10, version 5.14.30*

While I like the scan function of adding to my cellar there needs to be the ability to add a wine name, year, etc. I am in several wine clubs and receive wines that are not released for retail. There is no way for me to add them to my cellar.

### 2/5 — App is not working

*2021-11-25, version 5.14.30*

The app is not working

### 2/5 — Subpar at best

*2021-02-06, version 5.14.25*

This app has the potential for greatness, yet they fail at the most basic rudimentary functions. Get it together!

### 2/5 — Poor cellar tracking

*2021-01-31, version 5.14.25*

This is my go to app when purchasing wines. The reviews of other users are usually helpful. However, the very cumbersome cellar tracking feature is not very useful. If you are primarily looking for a way to track your wines across multiple locations then you should keep searching.

### 1/5 — No longer supported... go to CellarTracker

*2020-05-26, version 5.14.25*

Sadly, this app is no longer supported and there are some issues with it. I have reached out at least twice over the past 12-18 months with specific concerns, questions, & issues. Not a single response. Not sure what happened because it used to be great! Don’t waste your time here. Just go straight to. CellarTracker (the database back-end to this app.) There were features here that I liked better than CellarTracker, but I’ll just learn how to use CT from here on out.

### 1/5 — Broken!

*2020-04-25, version 5.14.25*

Paid for this app now it’s whining about some app key when scanning. Fix this!

### 2/5 — Light app, works ok

*2020-03-06, version 5.14.25*

Nothing special but not much competition out there either.

### 1/5 — Inpossible to use in dark mode

*2019-12-23, version 5.14.25*

Loved for years, but wouldn’t download it now. With the new design, all the input fields are illegible if your phone is in dark mode

### 1/5 — New Layout makes it hard to see text fields

*2019-11-17, version 5.14.25*

Light grey boxes that are used to highlite a selected wine masks the text underneath with data such as ratings, drinking window, etc...

In general the new layout provides less contrasts between fields and text making it overall harder to read on my iPad. Not sure what you were thinking with this new layout but would prefer that you go back to the older layout or allow the user to choose.

### 1/5 — App ruined

*2019-10-29, version 5.14.24*

Was great and could get prices. Very very buggy now and barely works. Horrible now.

### 2/5 — New Version Not as Good

*2019-05-23, version 5.14.16*

The older version was working well - it was pretty quick and the barcode scanner worked incredibly fast. This new version changed all that. It now takes much longer to load, sometimes making you think it hung. And the barcode scanning is a joke. It can’t even detect that there’s a barcode in the frame, let alone read it. Wish I could go back to the older version. It might be time to switch to Cellar Tracker app (which is the database Corkz uses).

### 2/5 — Improvement

*2019-01-15, version 5.14.14*

To whom it may concern,
There needs to be a MOVE feature. Whether you do it in the edit portion or wherever, the user needs to be able to move more than one bottle at a time. This could be done in the edit feature just create a FROM and TO edit feature with a QUANTITY. The QUANTITY being the most important. When you add a wine you can specify a quantity, but you cannot in edit or the MOVE feature that is nonexistent.
If you want to rename your BINS, where do you do this?? And if you are able to rename a BIN it shouldn’t change the contents of the bin when you do so.
This App works as it’s intended, but it needs improvement. It is flexible enough to be used in a single location or if the user has multiple locations. The later being my scenario where my employer has multiple bins in multiple locations. So when we MOVE cases of wine from one to the other this is why there needs to be a move feature with a quantity. As well as quantity feature in the DRINK section too.
Think bigger!
Respectfully

### 3/5 — Used to work

*2018-10-05, version 5.14.13*

Used it for many years. Nothing special, but functional. But completely broken since iOS 12 update.
Update - now it works. Maybe a web or database glitch.

### 1/5 — search is broken

*2018-08-19, version 5.14.13*

this is a good app, but search is broken right now

### 1/5 — Doesn't track cellar holdings accurately

*2018-08-16, version 5.14.13*

Great idea but my inventory is all screwed up. This has been a problem for a while.

In addition is doesn't retain order notes when you add a bottle. You have to copy the order notes, save the bottle and then edit and paste your order notes back in and save it again. It's a work around but really?

Anybody have a suggestion for a better app? This one stinks.

### 1/5 — Gone?

*2018-06-29, version 5.14.13*

Used this for a few years but I get only black screen when I try to open it now. Even the website won’t accept emails. Must be defunct. Will use a different app, I guess. Bummer

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2018-02-06, version 5.14.12*

I have used the app successfully for several years. But in no longer works.

You can still scan the barcode. It brings up a list including the bottle of wine you are researching. But when you select the bottle from the list, the app crashes. This is now happening with every bottle of wine I scan. Please fix. The app is useless at this time.

### 1/5 — Black screen without network

*2017-12-15, version 5.14.12*

I like the way I can keep track of bottles I own, as well as what I have liked in the past. They information is useful when I'm in the store deciding what wine to buy. Well, that did not work at all! Inside the wine store my phone has no network connection, and Corkz says it can't work without network. So all I get is a black screen. Why is my wine cellar not stored on my device? I need it to work regardless of network. There are still many places on this Earth without network availability, and my apps need to work there.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2024-06-07*

When I open the app, it crashes. It says, “A server with the specified name could not be found.” If this app no longer works, then it should be removed from the App Store.

### 1/5 — App is dead

*2024-04-25*

Have used it for years and it’s now dead. Fortunately, the database that it used was Cellartracker and you can still use that (they ask for a suggested donation).

### 1/5 — App and website are dead! ☹️

*2024-04-23*

I get a blank page and server missing message on both App an website. Is this still in business?

### 1/5 — No longer working

*2024-04-19*

It has been almost 3 years since the last update. Now when I try to open it, it says "host not found." No one responds to email. I think this company is gone. Do not buy.

### 1/5 — Zombie app

*2022-12-13, version 5.14.30*

Seems there is no longer any development of this app. Scan feature no longer works.

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2022-08-20, version 5.14.30*

0 of the 15 bottles I scanned at the store would show up. What is this app even about?

### 1/5 — Bar scanner does not work

*2022-08-13, version 5.14.30*

Bar scanner on iPhone does not work and support does not respond with help. Used to be a good app but not so anymore!

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2021-11-28, version 5.14.30*

When I open the app, it crashes. Useless.

### 1/5 — Recent release broken

*2021-11-26, version 5.14.30*

See now loading then just get black screen since last update. Same issue on phone and ipad

### 1/5 — Looking for a dial up speed app?

*2021-01-09, version 5.14.25*

If you’re tired of your blazing fast iPhone you spent bank on to get 5g and a chip that could launch a rocket. If you long for the good old days of inserting a cd you got in the mail from compuserve promising 55 hours of free internet. If life just moved too dang fast, this app is for you! It don’t care that it’s 2021. It don’t care that you’ve curated years of wine bottles into it. Or you e gifted it to you family. The developer is over you, and well, they’re also on dialup so they can’t hear you complain because they are online and can’t pick up the phone. Please send a self addressed stamped envelope to “Bad Wine App, PO Box 999, Pueblo, Colorado”.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2017-01-09, version 5.14.8*

Amazing app that is an easy data entry "app" that is backed by a full featured web site called Cellar Tracker. So you enter your personal cellar data via the Corkz app and some of the editing is done via the Cellar Tracker website. The beautiful part of this app is it syncs with all your mobile devices almost instantly. So my Iphone and two Ipad 2's have my cellar information synced all the time. Awesome! and it works perfectly. It took me a bit to figure out that some editing had to be done on the Cellar Tracker website so if you enter data via the app and want to change it, some fields can be changed within the app but not all fields. Your app purchase gives you access to the members only Cellar Tracker website as well, just use the same user ID and password you used to set up your Corkz membership. All seamless and flawless. I find the depth of the Cellar Tracker website to be amazing. Great partnership and wonderful interface. I couldn't ask for more. Thanks for making a FULL BLOWN cellar tracker for me to use on the fly! Love it.

### 5/5 — Keep Cellartracker up to date more easily

*2015-03-23, version 5.07*

I’m glad to have stumbled across this app. I’ve used cellartracker for a few years. Its a great tool for maintaining my cellar inventory because of its enormous inventory and customizable values, and it allows export to save my cellar data locally. But it has a disappointing interface, and making inventory changes is clunky and sometimes frustrating. This app solves that. It’s user interface is slick, cellartracker integration solid, and barcode scanner a great time saver.

Two suggestions for future releases: 1) When editing an existing inventory item, present current values from inventory instead of blank/default values that requiring the user to retype all properties, even when changing only a single inventory value is desired. 2) A label reader would be valuable when bottles have no barcode.

### 5/5 — Take Cellar Tracker with You

*2013-11-15, version 4.5*

I organize my cellar with Cellar Tracker. So, it is great to be able to pick a wine and then "drink" it and review it with my I-phone on the living room couch, not head to my desk top. It is also great to be able to sort within sorts (eg. List all Pinots and then sort by drinking dates.) Also pretty useful picking wines in a store. (I refuse to pull it out in a restaurant.) I do not use it for inputting wines because it does not have all of the features of CT, but when inputting wines on my desktop or laptop it is handy to use the phone ap as a second screen. Two minor issues. The slide for the wine rating number is hard to get on the precise number; I would prefer a tumbler like it has for cellar location and date. Also, if you have a minor typo when typing wine names, it does not recognize the wine. (Newer version does this sometimes. ???). Also have to get used to newer version prompting for next. Have several times "drank" before finished with input, and there is no way go ho back and edit/add. Overall a great ap.

Note to other reviewers: if you are not familiar with the quirks of the Cellar Tracker wine reviews, you may be surprised at some of the reviews. Often necessary to figure out who has reviewed what, and ratings and drinking dates are often not consistent with text, but very many, very knowledgable people are reviewing, and scoring very hard. Don't go by the rating number alone.

### 5/5 — Blown away!

*2013-02-01, version 4.1.6*

Just got my iPhone and dreamed of an iOS app that would connect to CellarTracker. This is it! It's amazing! And I haven't even tried the scan or the compare features yet. Highly recommended.
Update: have been using for awhile now and still love it! If you track your wine with CellarTracker this is a must have. The scan and compare features work great, BTW.
Update 28 September 2012: still love it! No complaints, this is a great app if you are a CellarTracker user; it's probably equally wonderful even if you are not.
Update 31 Jan 2013: had a problem viewing some of my wines by location (a bug). Contacted support and they had it fixed in couple of days. Very happy with the app. Kudos to Llew!

### 5/5 — I like it just fine

*2012-09-20, version 4.1.4*

I think some reviewers miss the point of this app. It is a huge database; therefore you have to be connected to access tasting notes. It would simply be too big to store on your iPad or iPhone. Also the database is live since it is made up of reviews from users like you and me. The fact that you can look up a 20 year old napa cab and find a recent consumer thoughts on how it is drinking can be much more reliable than a 17 year old critics review.
I am glad this app doesn't tie up storage space on my device and allows me a portal to monitor my budding wine collection. It has offered me the opportunity to find amazing buys online and supply some fantastic drinkers at dinner parties due to information from fellow enthusiasts.
Cheers!

### 5/5 — Extremely helpful in a wine store

*2012-06-25, version 4.1.3*

I use this app exclusively to help me pick wines at retail. Extremely helpful due to their huge inventory of wines in database, including at the lower price points where I and many other wine lovers with Champaign taste buds on beer budgets must shop. Helping me find high 80's rated wines around $10 among the gazillions of gallons of swill keeps me from pouring so many bottles down the drain, or to be generous, allows me to pick way more winners than merely OK wines. The Wine Spectator App just gives you an idea of the vintage and region, but this App gives you name, date, rating, and average prices at retail. An excellent and helpful App. I don't know what I'd do without it now. Kudos to the developers, and thank you.

### 5/5 — Hands down BEST wine app

*2012-05-04, version 4.1.3*

I LOVE this app. I have been using it for over a year now and can't imagine going back to trying to track my wine collection with Excel. I use the app with tracking my current collection, looking up new wines before I purchase (to get ratings, reviews, pricing), doing research on new wineries that I want to visit, and for showing off to my friends. I am sure you will love it as well if you spend some time using it. There are a hand full of enhancements that I would like to see, but those will be great when they come out, but the lack of them does not take away from the true value of all of the current features it has. Give it a try, you will not be diss appointed.

### 5/5 — Very Nice Wine Cellar Solution

*2012-02-09, version 4.1.0*

I would highly recommend using this app. I have tracked my 550 bottle cellar a couple of different ways, but never as effectively as this. Easy to implement - a couple of 2-1/2 hour sessions - and once the data is entered, it's easy to maintain. I especially use the Drink By sorting feature. I either rely on the Community Drink By dates or enter my own. Once they are in, I can sort by the Drink By dates and quickly grab a wine for dinner at home, opening at a restaurant, or sharing with friends. With this feature I don't have to worry about forgetting about bottles in my cellar to the point they are past there prime. The app makes it easy to maintain your cellar as you consume and purchase from your laptop, iPhone or iPad. App works with data entered into cellar tracker. An improvement I would like to see when quick entering bottles in your iPhone or iPad is being able to note in the entry a user defined location in the cellar. This would make it easier to find an individual bottle within the cellar. I also use this app when ordering wine in a restaurant - I can quickly find the community rating and price for a wine on the menu to determine if the majority have found it to be worth drinking, along with how much markup I am paying for the bottle.

### 5/5 — Everything I expected

*2010-05-16, version 0*

This app is outstanding for the budding connoisseur. The barcode scanner is invaluable, not only when shopping a local distributor, but when browsing wine festivals and expos (the reps are much more informative when they perceive you as a serious consumer). And when I do find that special bottle at the expo, I can remember to search for it at the local shop.

Tracking my own inventory linked back to Cellar Tracker helps managing my burgeoning stock, keeping notes and sharing with my family and friends easier and more enjoyable.

One of my absolute favorite apps.

### 5/5 — One of my favorite apps

*2010-03-24, version 0*

This is the only and best App that totaly complements the incredible Cellar Tracker. This keeps my cellar even more organized then ever before.
All of the wines I have in my collection have the date of purchase, locations, ratings, cost, value, tasting notes and more available on this app. Well worth the small price.
It has general information about wines as well. I could go on and on.
The only item is that I cannot get the scanner to work on the iPhone. No big thing. I take the iPhone when going to the cellar, locate the wine, then mark it "drank".
I can't even think how I would improve this app.
