It still does a great job of scanning barcodes, but for some inexplicable reason, they removed the ability to copy the scanned text. ### 3/5 — Reads well but UI not thought through *2018-07-09, version 1.8.0* It reads barcodes quickly and easily. However, the data display of what it read is limited. It tells me it read 47 characters, but shows me only half with “...” indicating there’s more. There appears to be NO WAY to see the rest. Incredibly frustrating! ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2016-11-03, version 1.5.0* As an example if the vendor's Cortex scanning this is good. It's basically a limited function demo of their Cortex Decoder. If the Cortex Decoder were available in the app store I'd download it. But it's not, which is idiotic. So zero stars for putting something in the app store that says it's great but you can't get at the functionality. Code Corp, you've screwed this up. Put The full app in the store and I'll buy it. ### 1/5 — 2D barcode prefix only *2016-11-01, version 1.5.0* This is worthless!!! It will scan a 2D barcode but only decodes the first three (3) characters followed by "******". It does tell you the character length but when it only reveals the first 3 characters, what purpose does THAT serve?! ### 1/5 — Does not decode *2016-07-22, version 1.5.0* Only tells information about the barcode. Does not tell what the data is! ### 1/5 — Twitchy, missing advertised functionality *2016-07-15, version 1.5.0* App begins scanning before receiving permissions, is extremely twitchy, and worst of all only gives you the message length, its encoding and a few bytes. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Another company down the drain *2025-05-20, version 4.8.4* I used to praise them but now I scorn them with the latest update. I’m using Honeywell’s Swift Decoder app now which is exactly what this app used to be before the developers broke it. Thank the lord Honeywell started to compete in the algorithm/API space. ### 1/5 — Who thought requiring an account for this app was a good idea? *2025-05-08, version 4.8.4* Requiring an account killed this app ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage *2025-03-04, version 4.8.1* The app changed at some point to require a login. But you cannot go past the login creation screen! It’ll flash to the app interface briefly and then kick back to the registration screen. Uninstalled. ### 1/5 — The best scanner ruined *2024-12-04, version 4.8.0* The best scanning app I have ever used but it requires you to fill out info and log into their account system every time you use the app. It’s ruined it. ### 1/5 — Now require login?! *2024-11-21, version 4.8.0* This application was fantastic and allowed me to quickly. Use my phone as a scanner and be able to conveniently scan barcode QR codes or otherwise hard to read codes. Since the newest update, however I am now required to make a user account for updates that I don’t even subscribe to and every single time. I open the app to quickly scan a barcode. I am faced with the screen that verifies who I am and makes me enter in the information every single time and sign into an account every single time as if it was the first time I open. Extremely inconvenient now and I essentially have to find another application that can do the same function that doesn’t require all this advanced login stuff just to scan a barcode. ### 1/5 — not good anymore *2024-11-20, version 4.8.0* it was perfect but now i have to make an account/set up EVERY SINGLE TIME i use the app. as if its my first time using the app every time. ### 1/5 — Dumb *2024-11-15, version 4.8.0* Was awesome, but now it needs an account now for their “plus” subscription option ### 1/5 — I strongly dislike the new account requirement. *2024-11-14, version 4.8.0* The app works but they’re forcing everyone to make accounts to use the app now. It’s very annoying and says it collects data about you and your business. It was not like that before. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Was outstanding *2025-01-14, version 4.8.1* This app will decode poor quality barcodes that other apps fail to read, but Code Corp have recently changed this from a Free app to one that requires you to accept marketing emails :-( It also looks like they may be discontinuing this app. Their new app is subscription only at $100pa. Not worth it for my occasional use. ### 5/5 — Licence Renew *2020-07-01, version 3.5.3* I love the app and it has worked perfectly before today. Not only decodes, but identifies the type of code as well, which is extremely handy for my work. Really quick and has a large read window as well. Some are more than 5 times the size but did not work as well. This app's small size but works really well. It also has some nice features. Thing I'd like to see in future updates: 1. a history of scanned codes. 2. Option to display the code and save it. 3. It's very impressive.
