Reversi, played among the stars. The rules are the ones you already know. Trap a line of your opponent's discs between two of yours and the whole line turns over. Whoever holds the most when no moves remain wins. A game takes only a few minutes. What is different is what happens while you play. EVERY DISC YOU TURN OVER EARNS STARDUST Not wins—captures. A long game that goes the wrong way still pays, because a close match you lost was still a match worth playing. A harder opponent pays more for the same game. Stardust buys the surface the board is cut from, the stone it sits on, the discs themselves, the sky behind it, the way the pieces move, and the music. Forty-eight looks in all: six to begin with, thirty-six to buy, and six that cannot be bought at any price. EIGHT CONSTELLATIONS, HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT Six items make a set, and nothing tells you which six. The descriptions are the clues. Find every piece of a look and it names itself—Blockworld, Moonfall, Deep Nebula, the Trophy Room—and the board starts behaving like the place it came from. The Trophy Room cannot be bought at all. Its six pieces are handed over one at a time by six different achievements, and the last of them arrives only when you own everything else. A BOARD THAT REACTS Turn four discs at once and a comet crosses the sky. Turn five and the fireworks start, growing larger the more you capture. You probably shouldn't touch those. Win, and the whole board slams over from your side and shows you a face. Rendered natively with Metal, with effects scaled to your device—and its Moon is a real photograph from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. HONEST ABOUT MONEY Nothing here is sold individually for real money. The Stardust Shop accepts only the currency you earn by turning over your opponent's discs. There are no Stardust packs, no premium currency, and every cosmetic can be earned by playing. Supporter is the game's only real-money purchase.
