The stacks are organized in a simple fashion, and creating them is efficient thanks to the design. However, my main complaint is that there is simply no way to export these stacks into a DAW. It’s great that we can share our creations through this app, but when will we get the ability to export the stacks into DAWs? I was skeptical to give this a try. I pay for a splice sounds membership at 100 credits a month. While I greatly appreciate the service and use it regularly, something about using pre made samples always gave me an internal argument. I was weary of CoSo being another high-tech money-grab that stunts the growth of true creativity. If you want to look at it that way, yes, it may insidious - but delightfully so. The sheer speed at which one can sketch new ideas is like nothing I’ve ever used before. I will always grapple with the idea of AI making my creative decisions for me. It encourages laziness. But at the end of the day we musicians are still in the driver’s seat. I think for the average splice user who uses loops as a source of inspiration or a sort of “jumping off” point, this app will ramp up those sketching workflows exponentially. I foresee increased spending of splice credits in my future, which might not be such a bad thing after all :) ### 4/5 — Needs more variety *2022-04-28, version 1.3.1+1537* I think this is a great idea for creating royalty free original loops, but it needs more variety in the sample libraries. Every time I just want to play a song by pressing the play button, it instead goes to edit mode. You really need to be pinpoint accurate to press the play button. Restarted it. Closed out. Uninstalled. Nothing. ### 1/5 — Very cool idea, but the app doesn’t function *2022-04-28, version 1.3.1+1537* Half the time the add stack button doesn’t work, along with it constantly dropping out saying “no internet” despite me having full bars of wifi connection. This leads to the user losing the stacks that they try to work on randomly unless you save constantly. ### 3/5 — Good but minimal *2022-08-13, version 1.3.3+1592* Great concept, however I wish I could use this app to put together drum kits from splice. It will not allow me to listen to different kicks, or snares, or hi hats for example. FIX THIS!!! ### 4/5 — Almost perfect! *2024-03-08* Honestly, the Stacks feature is amazing and incredibly useful but two bugs might confuse or frustrate some users. - if you lose internet connection an unsaved stack you are currently working on disappears and can’t be recovered - if you save a stack, then hit the shuffle button to randomize a new set of loops, then exit and hit “discard changes”, tapping the “play” button of the newly saved stack will play back the new randomized set of loops that you thought you discarded **Developer response:** Thank you so much for the review and feedback! Please expand to other genres…Rock, Goth, Reggae, Future Pop, Club, Alternative anything, Country, Metal, RnB, Cinematic, Industrial….get more specific. Again-the most unique and in-the-times app, but please don’t stop here-get your R&D team and coders to make this tech the go-to for instant inspiration. I especially love it for when I’m on the bus commuting to work and can quickly sketch out a few song ideas that I can take to Ableton when I get home. I’ll keep it around for awhile to see if some key features are added that are currently not there. Maybe some of them are, and I just haven’t found them yet. 1. I’d like to choose genre, not just instruments. 2. I’d like to choose my key. 3. Ableton link. I’d like to hear how the loops sound with my other apps running.
