This should be free, you would get millions of downloads instead of trying to gouge people on a subscription. ### 2/5 — Not worth the money *2025-06-18, version 5.0.0* This was a great app until about a month ago. Then they update with some patch or something and now the easy receipt retriever is gone. You just get an error saying it’s not available. It’s been about three weeks since it has been available so I’m a little disappointed. I am absolutely not going to manually upload my purchases. Why would I win an API was available? I wish I could get my money back. ### 1/5 — Receipt Upload To Difficult *2024-10-10, version 2.1.0* I have spent an hour trying to figure out how to take a scrolling screenshot because their app requires it for receipt upload. But my phone simply doesn’t have the option. I have iPhone 12 pro Max. It isn’t the newest thing out, but it isn’t so old that this should be this difficult to upload receipts. To me that means this app more of a headache than anything! ### 1/5 — Eh *2023-10-26* Randomly starts updating data and then randomly stops. I’ve uploaded a couple of things and they never seem to submit. **Developer response:** We've updated the app so that should no longer be happening! However, if you continue to run into issues, please reach out to support@costcocompanion.app and we'd be happy to help you! ### 1/5 — I can’t even set a warehouse *2023-08-12, version 0.8.100* Choosing a warehouse requires logging in (even though the page says you don’t need to). To do that, I need to create an account using credentials for Facebook, Google, or Apple, which I won’t do with a random app. It’s too bad because this app is a good idea, but the experience is terrible. Just got this app and I’m still trying to figure out the point of having this app. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Raise price to legacy supporters *2026-08-08, version 5.6.0* Used to be a good app. I was the one of the earliest supporters and it just changed the price to $40/yr. I rarely go to Costco and had lifetime of $29.60 saved. $40 per year for subscription fee even for early supporters are you crazy? This is insane and won’t be using it anymore. But then they took away the receipt retriever and it’s basically useless. You can manually enter receipts now, but I’m not going to do that. It has to be easy to be useful. I tried emailing support, but there was not response. They took away the key feature AFTER I paid for the app, and then don’t even bother to respond to support requests. ### 1/5 — Ridiculous *2025-02-09, version 2.3.0* Saving money is always a good thing. No, I’m not going to pay you money to save me money, and I’m definitely NOT going to give you my login information to my Costco account. Are you serious? If you buy something from Costco, and see it cheaper, just write down the item number and have them scan your card at the return counter. I have gained quite a bit of return with things going on sale within the month I purchased them . They have improved the ease of uploading receipts since when I first started using it . Works great, had to show the employees, it had exactly what they needed to find the receipt to get my refund. It found a price adjustment on my first couple receipts! It does seem to have missed another price adjustment, hence the 4 stars.
