### 4/5 — Bug in new version - fixed

*2026-05-26, version 4.15*

Error message corrected. Working fine now.

### 2/5 — Can’t find the “Trip Planner “ feature

*2026-01-26*

I have used this off and on for our annual ski trips into Colorado. I used to be able to put in a route start and end, and see the best route under current conditions and get notifications for alerts issued along the route. The help still mentions the feature, but I can’t find it anywhere. Same on the website.

**Developer response:** Thank you for checking out the COtrip app and for sharing your experience. The trip planner is still available and can be accessed by tapping the magnifying glass in the bottom left corner. In the search bar, you can enter a route such as “road conditions from Denver to Vail Pass” to view current conditions, alerts, and driving directions along your route.

If you have any questions or need help, please feel free to contact us at feedback@castlerockits.com, and we’d be happy to assist.

### 2/5 — Routing

*2026-01-25, version 4.12*

Difficult to use not clear how to map a route

### 2/5 — Confusing App

*2026-01-21, version 4.12*

Not user friendly. Too bad, as this could be a wonderful travel tool for all of us in Colorado.

### 3/5 — Works Half the Time

*2026-01-19, version 4.11*

Just frustrated with the trip planner part of the app. It only allows me to input certain things. Like I was planning a trip and it wouldn’t search…..90 percent of the time it will not go through. Just frustrating

### 2/5 — Cotrip Planner New Version

*2026-01-08, version 4.11*

It’s terrible. The old version from 2-3 years ago was much better. New version is very complicated and difficult to use. Just getting rid of all the alerts is near impossible.

### 2/5 — Trip planner?

*2025-12-04, version 4.11*

What happened to the route planner? I tried through the search tool and nothing came up. Not nearly as useful as it used to be.

### 1/5 — Clunky

*2025-11-20, version 4.11*

Frustrating to use. Can't set a new route. Instructions not helpful. Alerts inconsistent.

### 2/5 — Cameras not working

*2025-11-19, version 4.11*

I use this app a lot and have always loved it but something is wrong as I no longer get the cameras showing me road conditions. I would have rated it 5 stars if the cameras were working. I like to see road conditions in the winter in the mountains especially.

### 2/5 — How to trip plan

*2025-10-11, version 4.9*

The instructions for trip planning on the app or web version does not provide steps on where to start. Still haven’t figured it out after an hour.
Selecting the highway routes is helpful but not what I anticipated.

### 3/5 — COtrip Review

*2025-08-25, version 4.9*

I can’t See other Places

### 1/5 — App is a complete failure

*2025-08-18, version 4.9*

This app is not updated for weeks in end. No one is around to update road closures or openings on the weekends. The app is worthless when you can’t get the current information. For example, app shows highway 50 closed for the black canyon fire, but the highway was reopened after that fire two weeks ago. Unreliable and useless, complete waste of taxpayer money

### 1/5 — Can’t find trip planer entry for info

*2025-08-07, version 4.9*

Can’t find trip planners info entry screen

### 1/5 — Never up to date

*2025-07-24, version 4.9*

Complete waste of time. Can never rely on the information being current.

### 1/5 — Can’t find on my apps!

*2025-07-04, version 4.8*

Where the heck is it? Supposedly it’s one of my apps, but it doesn’t show up on my phone. Major fail!

### 2/5 — No longer receiving alerts

*2025-07-02, version 4.8*

Have used the travel alert part of this app for years. Now all of a sudden I am not receiving text alerts. I have reached out directly to cotrip and they have been no help. The app is not even showing up on my setting even tho it’s Downloaded on my phone Any help would be appreciated

### 1/5 — Needs to be better

*2025-06-29*

I’ve had this app for a while and use it about once a year to go to another part of the state. The trip planner was easy to find at one point and now you have to know to use the drop list on search to find the trip planner. I think that’s incredibly inconvenient since the main purpose is to plan trips and be aware of highway conditions. My route involved going on Highway 6 up Clear Creek Canyon to I 70 both of which had delays. The app didn’t even mention the construction on Highway 6. Much less the 45 minute delay on the I 70 Floyd Hill construction. It would also be really nice if there was a suggested alternative if there’s more than 15 or 20 minute delays. I had to pull over and switch to Google maps which gave me better information and gave me alternative routes, but since I was already in the middle of the construction, it didn’t really help this time.

**Developer response:** Hi! We are sorry you didn't get the information that you needed. The main Search COtrip page has been updated to allow natural language searches, like "Golden to Boulder". And, if you are interested in a particular type of information about your trip, like construction projects, you can type "Construction between Golden and Boulder". To view current travel time delays on your searched trip, swipe up on the "RESULTS ALONG ROUTE" tray and then tap the "Directions" tab.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Keeps throwing an error dialog

*2026-05-20, version 4.14*

App is nearly unusable. This was fixed a for a short period of time and now it’s back. Stop showing dialogs with error messages. That does nothing for users. When the error is thrown, check the env and see if it’s prod, if not, show dialog for devs. If it’s prod log the error and don’t show the dialog.

### 1/5 — Unable to find high profile events

*2026-05-18, version 4.14*

This warning keeps coming up. Please fix it or I'll delete the app forever

### 1/5 — Bug in new version

*2026-05-18, version 4.14*

Error message every time I scroll the map. Important app - needs to be fixed asap

### 1/5 — New update with glitch

*2026-05-15, version 4.14*

Was just forced to update. Now I can’t do anything without a popup saying “ Unable to find high priority events.
The operation couldn't be completed.
(CRNativeData.CRNative-
ProviderError error 1.)”

As soon as I x it out, it pops up again. In a never ending loop. Therefore I can’t use the app at all

### 1/5 — Where’s the new trip planner

*2026-03-06, version 4.13*

It says there is a new trip planner in the tour but that feature cannot be found in the app. This app left me more frustrated than helped. Also, hopefully when this feature does become available you can give the date of your trip so you know ahead of time when you should leave and when there are scheduled road closures.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2026-01-15, version 4.11*

This app is never updated. Whoever runs this app spends more time on the CDOT Facebook. They update facebook but not the app. Pretty sad! I do NOT recommend.

### 1/5 — I can’t get the app to open.

*2025-12-30, version 4.11*

I can’t get past the opening screen. How to you get to the actual map? There is no option to get past the first set of swipe screens?

There is nothing at the top to click on an iPhone….I took a screenshot but I can’t post it. I’ll update my review when I can get into the app.

### 1/5 — No trip planner?

*2025-12-13, version 4.11*

The purpose of this app is to plan trips. But they’ve done away with the trip planner. I can find hazards (from Waze so not even from CODOT) and scenic byways, but I can no longer type in a destination and get a route with info on road conditions, closures, etc. It’s now a pointless waste of space on my Home Screen

### 1/5 — Very slow

*2025-11-29, version 4.11*

Sticky and slow navigation

### 1/5 — Where are the cameras

*2025-11-21, version 4.11*

It’s ridiculous taking down/ removing the cameras right before the snowy season. That used to be the best thing about this site. Thanks a lot. What a joke

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Update

*2026-03-05, version 4.13*

I use COtrip Planner quite often and have always enjoyed using it. But I did the update and now I can’t see any cameras on Floyd Hill. Have they been removed?

*2024-11-06*

### 5/5 — Trucking

*2024-03-14, version 4.5*

The go to app for trucking through Colorado

### 5/5 — Colo Trip Planner

*2024-02-01*

One can view roadways through out Colorado. I am uncertain what people expect but this site is pretty darn cool. I use it to preview road conditions, accidents and other highway issues as I travel or as the site says when I am planning a trip in Colorado. One can actually traffic conditions and if there are stoppages from all sorts of issues. Makes one realize the government can view you just about anywhere in Colorado on public roads.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the 5 star review and positive feedback!

### 5/5 — THE App to Use!

*2024-01-20*

Living in Grand County, COtrip is my go-to app any time I’m planning a drive or checking road conditions. I use it with these layers: Road Conditions, Traffic Conditions, Plow Tracker, Weather Conditions, and Mountain Passes.

For anyone that has rated this app less than 5-stars, there have been SIGNIFICANT improvements that make this app WELL-WORTH using!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the wonderful review!

### 5/5 — Vital for winter

*2024-01-14, version 4.5*

This app has everything you need to know for planning your Skis trip

### 5/5 — Useful

*2023-11-26, version 4.4*

I like selecting the camera layer and then setting directions to see all the cameras along the route. I also like the road conditions overlay.
