FRITZ!Box TV and the guide require a compatible FRITZ!Box with a DVB-C tuner and DVB-C enabled (e.g. 6490, 6591 or 6660 Cable). Your iPhone, iPad or Mac must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Custom internet streams can be used without a FRITZ!Box. Encrypted pay-TV channels cannot be played. Only add sources you are authorised to use.

### 1.6 — 2026-08-19

New in CouchTV 1.6:

• More reliable playback of radio, SD and HD channels with improved audio startup and stable synchronisation.
• On iPad and Apple silicon Macs, the player now opens above the channel list. Search state and scroll position are preserved when it closes.
• RTSP audio on Mac no longer depends on additional installed audio codecs.
• Sources, favourites and settings now remain available even after the app is force-quit.
• Improved compatibility with unusual H.264 streams and numerous stability fixes.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-07

New: You can now try DVB-C playback through your own compatible cable router free for 7 days. After that, a one-time purchase permanently unlocks DVB-C television and radio – with no subscription. Custom streams and M3U playlists remain free. Existing Pro purchases remain permanently valid.

We have also improved playback and picture quality for HD cable channels, especially 1080i content. Picture in Picture and switching between channels are now more reliable.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-01

Custom streams and M3U playlists can now be added directly by URL on iPhone and iPad. On supported devices, you can also scan a URL from a QR code. CouchTV automatically detects whether a URL contains a single stream or a playlist.

Important: CouchTV no longer includes a bundled public channel list. You provide the stream or playlist URLs yourself and should only add sources you are authorized to use.

Optional iCloud sync now transfers sources and favorites more reliably and with fewer conflicts across your Apple devices.

### 1.3 — 2026-07-30

New: Stream sources and favorites can now optionally sync between iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV using your Apple Account. EPG data remains local.
Custom streams can now also be deleted on Mac. Playlist imports, playback and the player menu are more stable and reliable.
