## What is CoughTracker?

Cough is one of the most common symptoms that leads people to visit a healthcare provider. CoughTracker helps people to track when they are coughing and when their cough becomes more or less frequent.

By using artificial intelligence, CoughTracker monitors cough frequency and helps you identify cough trends.

Here's how it works: CoughTracker identifies the explosive sounds that might be coughs. Then these sounds are analyzed and, once confirmed as coughs, they are recorded on your own dashboard. You can see how many times you cough and when your cough is occurring. When the app is running, the app records a very short sample – a half second or so -- every time there is a cough-like sound. The sample is too short to contain any contextual information, but long enough to determine if you have coughed.

As a CoughTracker user, you are in control of what information you want to share. And anything you agree to share is anonymized. There is no link between an individual person and their data.

The accuracy of the data collected and presented through CoughTracker has not been evaluated by the FDA and is not intended to be used in any medical decision-making capacity, including presenting CoughTracker-gathered cough information to a healthcare professional for management of a patient's cough-related symptoms or conditions.

### 1/5 — Works great but it’s a bait and switch to a paid platform

This app works wonderfully. It accurately tracks my coughs and does a great job of presenting data to me in a clear and understandable way. But they are shutting this down so that they can have a version that has to be paid for. No bare bones option. No ad supported option. Just screw you and you data. Pay us or lose it all.

This app is amazing. The only issue is the pie chart not showing the correct time of coughs. 

It will be also great if they can add this app to Apple Watch too so it can combine the results

Works well but can pick up other coughs. 
Battery hog. Had to charge 3 times when I can usually go all day.

I downloaded a few days ago but it hasn’t tracked any of my coughing. Seems useless to keep

It doesn’t really determine the cause of the cough.

I’ve been having a cough for well over 10 years at the doctors have tested for Gerd, asthma, and allergies. There has been no conclusion. With this tracker, I can monitor how many cough episodes I have during a day. Then I can take this information to my doctor. Hopefully this will help figure something out. I’m impressed by what this app can do.

I downloaded this app last year and it worked perfectly. I’ve developed another cough and tried to reinstall the app and it’s not picking up any coughing at all. I’ve submitted 2 technical support requests but haven’t gotten a response.

The tracker stops working quite often.  Only downloaded a day and a half ago.  Had to uninstall and reinstall twice so far - this morning it’s not working again.   Great idea.   Since my cough seems to be only around 2-3 am, I wanted to share the pattern with my doctor.  Hopefully, it fixes soon.

I have had a persistent cough since having embolisms in my lungs several years ago. I had a full medical work up and we all agree that my brain was re-wired. It’s real but the cough isn’t needed. But, it’s difficult to re-wire the brain to lose the coughing habit. The app accurately is recording my coughs with excellent ways to review the results. I can add notes and triggers to help me identify patterns or have accurate information for my physicians. 

The only limitation is in phone function. The microphone has to be available to the app. If I’m using other apps that use the microphone then it can’t do both apps at the same time. I need to remember to restart the Cough Tracker app.  Obviously, the phone must be close enough to you to hear the coughing!  

Off topic a bit. I have found holding a sip of water in my mouth and consciously relaxing muscles from my face to my belly helps. Understanding triggers will also help me be proactive. 

I’ve hoped for an app like this for years to help me accurately track the amount of coughing I’m doing and recognize the triggers.
