Put a few days up, everybody answers, and the day the most people can make stands at the top. PUT THE DAYS UP • Every date is chosen in your phone's own picker, so everybody reads it in their own language and their own week • A whole day or an hour, in the same question • Anybody who may write can add another day to it THREE ANSWERS, NOT TWO • Yes, no, and the one that settles most dates: at a pinch • The whole question is one grid, a column per day and a row per person, and only your own row takes a tap • A tap moves that day on by one and is recorded at once, with no save button anywhere • Nothing is hidden from anybody, because whether you can make Saturday is a fact about your Saturday • A bar over each column says which day is winning • Somebody who has not answered is shown as still being waited on, never as a no END IT ON A DAY • Settle the question on one of its days, and everybody is told • Open it again later and every answer is still there EVERYWHERE IN GROUPS • A new group now starts from the plus button, and Count asks what it is for • The code for joining sits top right, on the tab and in every tool • Shopping together: what you make is now called a group, the same as everywhere else • Smaller improvements and fixes across all five group tools Finding a date is part of Pro. Enjoy Count! ### 2.6.0 — 2026-09-08 Count's fourth group tool is here, and it is the first one you use with the camera. Shopping together: scan what you have, and Count tells you what is missing. SCAN, DON'T TYPE • A barcode is a product's identity, so pointing the phone at a packet says which of forty rows you mean • Set the mode once, putting away or taking out, and every packet after that books by one • A whole shop goes away in one pass, with the name and the new level shown over the camera as you go • A code the group does not keep yet opens a form with the name, the brand and the picture already filled in, from an open product catalogue WHAT YOU NEED, AT THE TOP • Every item has a minimum. Below it, it moves to the top of the group's screen, on the shopping list • The rest sits under it, with a plus and a minus on every row for the times the camera is not to hand • Count the shelf whenever the number has drifted, and Count carries on from what you found • Every booking says who made it, so the item's own history answers who took the last one THE GROUP, AS YOU KNOW IT • The same wizard, the same code held up as a QR, the same knock you answer while the person is standing there • Anybody already with you on a device of their own is offered a place instead of a code • Three rungs of rights: follow the list, book what you take out and put back, or decide what the house keeps at all • Everything you record travels to everybody, and their pictures and faces come back Shopping together is part of Pro. When you split expenses, what matters is not what the group has spent altogether, it is whether you get money back or still owe some. So that is what you are shown now. YOUR STANDING, NOT THE GROUP'S TOTAL • The group's head card, the list on the Groups tab and "recently used" on the home screen all say whether you get money back or still owe some • It is one figure, because everything you are owed and everything you owe is netted into it • When everything is square, it says so in words • A group you hold no seat in still shows the total, because having no seat is a different thing from being square Enjoy Count! ### 2.5.1 — 2026-09-03 This version is about the people you already have, and about the app getting out of your way. And the appearance is yours to set: light or dark, whatever the phone says. ALREADY WITH YOU, SO NO CODE • When you make a game, an expense group, a task group or a poll group, you simply tick the people who are already with you on a device of their own • You can do it when you make it and at any time afterwards, behind the group's gear • They get an invitation on their device and decide for themselves: take it, leave it, or later • Nobody starts with any rights, and you hand those out afterwards as usual LIGHT OR DARK • Under Settings you choose the appearance: as on the device, always light, or always dark • Your choice holds even when your device switches later. One tap puts it back on the automatic A COUNTER'S PERIOD • A period can now be a from and a to that you set yourself • Each end is either a fixed date or moves along, for example always up to today. The last 14 days is what it opens on TASKS ON THE HOME SCREEN • A task that is on you today stands under "Due today", with the button that records it • New below it: "Due soon", with every task coming round to you next, the soonest first • A task can only be ticked off once it is actually due INSIDE A GROUP • A task opens with a tap on its row, to read it and to change it • At the top stand the group's picture and the task coming round to you • In a task group you joined, the app knows again which seat is yours • A group's picture now reaches everybody, when splitting expenses, sharing tasks and deciding together. Whoever runs the group picks it, and everybody else sees it the next time they open it WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO IS OUT OF YOUR WAY • Somebody who does not run a group is only offered what they may do • The name, the picture, the people and the code are gone rather than standing there as a button that does nothing ON TO A NEW DEVICE • When you transfer via our server, you now also see when the transfer was made, not only how long it stays available Enjoy Count! ### 2.5.0 — 2026-09-01 The fourth tab is now called "Groups", and it gains two tools at once: sharing tasks and deciding together. Both work the way a group for splitting expenses does, so there is nothing second to learn. SHARING TASKS • Put in what has to be done and how often, and Count says whose turn it is next • Not only the cleaning. The shopping, the tidying, the bins, who deals with an appointment: anything that goes round fits in it • The order is not fixed in advance. It follows from who went last, so when somebody stands in for somebody else, everything moves along by itself • Whoever was away comes up a few times in a row afterwards. That works itself out too • For each task you set who takes part, and whether the order follows from the turns taken or is fixed • The group opens with what is on you, with a wide button to record it. What is on everybody else is below it, by name and face DECIDING TOGETHER • Ask the group a question, give it the options, and Count counts the votes • You set whether everybody picks exactly one option, as many as they like, or at most a certain number • While a poll runs, you see the count only once you have voted yourself. That way nobody else's vote pulls you in a direction • A poll can be secret. The group then sees who has voted, but not what for • A poll ends when somebody ends it, never on its own. After that everybody sees the result • Every option has its own colour. The question, the options and the colours can all be put right later • When you write a poll you decide whether a vote already cast may still be changed. If it may, you tap another option, or the one you hold to take your vote back • A poll that has been ended can be opened again, and no vote is lost EVERY GROUP WORKS THE SAME WAY • You are on the list from the start, under your own name • You type the others in, or you hold up your code and they arrive with phones of their own. Either order, in any mixture • Whoever knocks appears straight away, with their photo, and you say yes or no while they are still standing next to you • Behind the gear at the top right is everything else: the name, the people, the code, and for each person separately what they may do • When somebody else records something, your device tells you, and a tap opens that group • A group something has happened in is on the home screen under “Recently used” IMPORTING WITHOUT A NEW FOLDER • An import can go into a folder you already have. Counters with the same name carry on, and only the new values are added • When the names do not line up, you pair them yourself. A table shows which imported counter meets which counter here THE LAST FEW READINGS INSTEAD OF A WEEK OR A MONTH • A counter's figures can now be read over its last few readings.
