## What is Count my breaths?

Count my breaths is an app created for pet owners who have a pet living with heart disease.

Heart disease in dogs is nearly as common as with humans. Even though diet and exercise do play a role, most cases cannot be avoided. The exception is with heartworm disease which is responsible for about 13% of all dogs with heart disease. It is recommended to take your dogs to your veterinarian for routine checkups at least once a year and every 6 months for older dogs.

Fast breathing when resting or sleeping (more than 30 breaths per minute) is a sign of heart disease or heart failure. Home breathing rate should be evaluated at least once per day in all pets that have heart disease or heart failure and are now taking medications such as furosemide and pimobendan.

This app is still in its very early stages and is being developed because we have a pet with this condition ourselves. We would love to get feedback and feature requests as we grow this app in the future.

We do also have a web app although records do not transfer between the two at this time. If you would like to use the browser version of the app please visit us at https://countmybreaths.com

### 3/5 — CSV doesn’t work

*2023-12-14*

Sadly, when I use the email records option the CSV is empty.

### 1/5 — Exporting Data Does Not Work

*2023-08-22*

While this app does have an “Email records” button, it emails a CSV with only column names — not your pet’s actual data.

I tried to contact the developer, but I’m pretty sure the contact form on the app website is broken.

I would NOT recommend using this app, as it is not being maintained, and other users have also reported bugs in their reviews. Furthermore, it is impossible to get a refund if you do buy pro features.

### 5/5 — Amazing app 🥺

*2023-07-22*

My cat was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure caused by enlargement of the heart, so we really need to monitor her condition and this app is perfect!

A suggestion: would it be possible to add a “notes” feature, where you can type out a note or add a note to documented breathing records? For instance, her heart rate is sometimes high (in the low 40s) after a scare or taking medication, so it would be helpful to add a note explaining the context, as I typically monitor her after a particularly stressful event occurs.

Thank you so much for making this app, it’s been so wonderful. 🥺🥺✨✨💜💜

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2022-08-07*

Our Cavalier a heart murmur that has now reached stage 3. Our vet asked us to track her sleeping respiratory rate, and I was so pleased to find this app. It’s easy to use, and I am particularly excited about the ability email the stats as a .csv.

Thanks to the designer for creating this - you’ve made an emotional task very simple for us, which will make it easier to perform it regularly!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2022-03-11*

My vet had asked me to count my kitties breathing a couple of times and I always forgot to do it AND forgot how she told me to do it. This app makes it so easy to do and I don’t have to write it down or keep track of it in a document or anything. It is all write at my fingertips. When I showed the app to the vet and how it kep track of stats too, she was very impressed and wrote the name down so she could give the info to other pet owners.

We did have a bit of confusion because I couldn’t tell her how long it was counting for (we figured that out after starting the counter and seeing that it was counting for 30 seconds). But then I couldn’t tell her what the app was multiplying the breaths by. Then I remembered that I had counted 10 breaths but it listed 20 on the row of data. It would be really helpful if this info was listed somewhere for new users.

Other than this lack of info which was needed by the vet, this app is really great and I will continue to use it.

### 3/5 — Lost all my records

*2022-01-29*

I had this app after my dog was admitted to ICU for CHF, heart murmur, pulm. oedema. I have been logging in his breath rate counts since May of 2021. Then mid January,2022 I lost all my logs and data and it won’t even record any entry now. I tried to reach out but the website was not responding and I am not able to send any corresponded to the developer to let them know of the issue. BTW I tried everything including a hard boot.
Also, why is the unlock features freezing the page? What’s with that?

### 1/5 — Graphing Function Doesn’t Work

*2022-01-15*

I have used this tool for months, but something broke in the latest update so now you can only graph one week of data at a time. I’ve tried to contact the developer and never received a response. I also tried uninstalling / reinstalling which didn’t fix the issue and I lost all my data in the process.

I hope this feature is fixed soon!

### 5/5 — A really nice app

*2021-02-13*

The app is really nice.

Things to improve would be the possibility to add counts manualy to the History and a Notifikation Reminder to count daily/weekly at a costume time. Also the possibility to add a second pet would be really nice.

**Developer response:** Hello! And thank you for your feedback. A few of the features you mentioned were recently added for our upgraded users. We will continue working on the notifications feature and more. Please don’t hesitate to give us any more feedback you have and share with anyone you know who could need this app.

### 5/5 — Extremely helpful tool for kitty with HCM

*2020-12-18*

We’ve always done the old school: timer, counting, writing the rates down. This app is a beyond helpful find. We have enough going on keeping track of meds. I don’t have to go through a million steps anymore: just tap the screen and it vibrates to tell me I’m done. Then the graphs and emailable records will be wonderful for communicating with my vet and watching for changes. Thank you so much to the creator!! I’m so appreciative of this app!

**Developer response:** Thank you! I’m very happy to hear this app has helped!

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2020-07-07*

This app is exactly what I needed to make it easier to track my dog’s breaths. It used to be a tedious process, and now it’s super easy. Thank you so much for creating this app!
