Option to pin it to the menu bar, or to pin it somewhere on the screen in a very small format, etc. **Developer response:** Hi Gregg, glad we could resolve your earlier problem. Unfortunately this is a limitation of the technology Apple provides to me called Catalyst that menu bar and pinning isn’t available, you can however use the built in widget. ### 5/5 — Widget *2020-10-07* Nach Aussagen des Entwicklers entscheidet Apple wie das Widget angezeigt wird zum Ende des Countdowns kommen dann auch Minuten und Sekunden darum jetzt volle Punktzahl An sich eine gut gedachte App habe sie gekauft um ein Event Countdown mit einem der neuen iOS Widget auf dem Home Bildschirm zu haben. Support contact was very quick. I asked about the missing feature, and got an immediate response. So what’s missing? In my view, this should alert you / you when the countdown is complete. You can set alerts for full days ahead, but not for a specific time prior to completion. Seems silly to say but it was definitely worth the $1. The free apps are nice until they don’t look right or are filled with ads. At first, it would do what I promised making a countdown widget that you can display but with limited action and customization. Purchased but found out selecting a year rather than this year is rather daunting as you will have to scroll all the way down from days and months to reach your desired year!!! I was already using other two beautifully designed free app for my short-term planning, only because either their widgets can’t be customised to display two different events that aren’t in time order, or when two widgets from the same app are being used there is only one same event shown on both widgets, rather than two whichever events you want. The widget is very poorly designed as it is only not ugly when you have at least 3 events lined up to display on it!!! If you only wanted a big event to take on the whole widget interface as a reminder, you would only end up having one event lined to the left taking only 1/3 of the whole widget, leaving the rest of 2/3 interface to be of simply ugly grey colour. And despite you could choose your own pictures for the events coming, the app’s very limited selection of the pictures and the fact you can’t event have a look in full screen size first are simply ridiculous!!! ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2018-09-24, version 4.3* It never works. Highly recommend this app to anyone. Old Review: I tend to be horrible with time. That is why I've been using this app for a few years. To keep track on the important things like my child's getting closer to adulthood and my parents each day closer to not having time with them again. All my goals revolve around the time I spend with the people I love so I start with birthdays and then my goals. I would absolutely recommend this app to anyone looking to add a countdown to their devices. ### 5/5 — Great app, fast service *2024-03-11, version 9.0.2* I bought the pro version to keep track of an upcoming hike on the Pacific Crest Trail, and to keep me focused as I watch the days count down. It is really easy to use, and the range of stock photos that come with it to illustrate the widget are perfect for me. One potential hiccup I ran into in case anyone else encounters the same. (it turned out not to be with Countdown at all, but with Sonoma.) It has to do with the widget colors "washing out" when the widget is not front-and-center in focus. I wrote Rob the designer about it as a potential app bug, and he wrote back within 10 minutes to guide me through resetting the widgets in Settings from Automatic to Full Color. Instant fix, no wait--terrific service and a happy customer. Nicely done. ### 5/5 — The Only app with customizable background image *2023-10-06, version 9.0.2* I love the simple and clean design of this app with customizable background image. This is the ONLY Mac widget that I can set a custom image for a day counter widget. Thanks a ton for creating this! It makes my desktop so much cool! One thing I really want is to use past countdowns on a widget to see how many days have passed since the day. I'd like to keep track of some events on a desktop widget, such as how old my little kitten is or how many days have passed since my important life events.
