People respond. I get to try out music I might never think to listen to. I see art I would never see otherwise. I read amazing writing. I get recommendations to check out articles and see photographs that move my soul. This place is the best, hands down. What I love about CoSo is the manners that have been cultivated and encouraged. I have actually seen both parties apologise for posts when they were worried they may have appeared too defensive in their position. You just don't find that anywhere else. People value the relationships here and it makes all the difference. It's all about the quality of conversation and sharing of interests, not the number of followers we all had on other social media accounts. It's not even set up like that. In fact, it actually doesn't matter. The weight of all that drops off your shoulders. Something else I notice about CoSo is that it bounces back faster from the waves of bad news that sweep all the social media sites. There is kind of a natural buoyancy of spirit here. (Also lots of highly intelligent people who verify before posting.) I love it when new Nauts arrive and begin to notice the difference. It's like the fun feeling when you watch a great movie with somebody who has never seen it before. People matter here. It’s a safe place with no trolls or ads and you can curate your own feed with blocking and muting tools. Filled with great people from all over the world who treat each with respect and kindness. The site can be daunting when you start, but everyone is very friendly and will offer up tips and suggestions and it won’t be long till you get the hang of it! Bad Guys don’t last very long, and the tools available for filtering are just right for allowing each person to curate their feed to be exactly what they want. Everyone’s different, so letting everyone choose their level of filtration is perfect! Did I mention that the Bad Guys don’t last…? Yeah…. It’s almost a sport to see how long it takes (seconds? minutes?) before they’re perma-banned and their digital troll tears are collected. No bots. No trolls. The platform is well-built, innovative, and features a versatile interface. I love the tools provided to tailor my experience, such as multiple tab options and filters to block out unwanted content. Did I mention that CoSo has VR rooms and movie nights? So much fun! I feel safe on Counter Social, knowing that the platform and its creator take a zero-tolerance stance against hostile nations, bots, trolls, and disinformation. I’ve witnessed firsthand how quick and efficient the creator is at dealing with these issues. Not only do I enjoy the technical aspects of this social media site and feel safe, but I also feel connected. Counter Social fosters a strong sense of community that feels like family to me. I feel like I’ve finally found a place I can call “home.” Thanks for creating a Neverland for us lost boys, J.! There is finally a social media site that people can go to, meet great exciting people from all around the world, and never get bombarded with bots, trolls or unwanted ads. It’s funded by the people and for the people. We have everything every social media website has but without all the conspiracies the other websites allow. You want a great place to meet new people from all over who most likely has the same interests as yourself, then do yourself a favor a try this place out. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Trolling behaviour is not welcome. This makes for an excellent place to talk, learn, get to know people, etc. and I’ve been on it since the very first day. Highly recommended over TW and FB for their misinfo and anger. ### 5/5 — An Awesome, Safe Space *2023-09-22* A wonderful, clean app that lets you connect to a fantastic social networking site on the backend. There aren’t any bots or trolls, and known attack vectors are preemptively blocked. I love the fact that there isn’t any of that “trending” garbage, no ads, no sponsors, no algorithm hiding content or steering you toward other content. Just real people talking about real stuff in a considerate way. My favorite part, aside from hashtags and an incredible selection of curation tools, is the linear timeline. Everything shows up in the order it was posted. Loads of features, with extra stuff available through the web-site. Jester regularly boots people he disagrees with (that’s any openly pro-Palestine people, for example), meaning people are scared to say what they really think for fear of copping one of his rants. He also regularly flirts openly with the more attractive female users. It’s basically a tightly ruled walled garden that is exactly what you wouldn’t want to do if you were building a community of good people. It happened when my mom could not log into her account and we tried to address this issue and the owner was being rude about it and all we asked is how to get back on the account. The app is just a mobile way to access it, but it works better when you can spread out the columns on a computer, and some features are only available that way. Because there is no algorithm pushing some posts and hiding others, every user can see all your posts unless THEY filter/mute/block or you add privacy settings. There’s no need to have followers to get heard — just post original info/opinions, and don’t be a jerk. (Trolls and bots get the banhammer so fast that people actually post that they are disappointed they missed it.) The only info collected is your email address. Even paid subscribers pay through a separate service to preserve anonymity. And yet despite most people using pseudonyms, committed moderation prevents abusers from spoiling the experience.
