I can now only access the magazines from previous subscriptions (same membership number). I have tried to resolve through the help desk but nothing seems to have happened. It’s a real shame because being able to read on mobile was great. I’ve spent way more time deleting, downloading, logging back in, emailing and phoning, than seems reasonable for a fun magazine subscription. ### 3/5 — What happened to zoom? *2023-10-04* Can not zoom in anymore and turning pages back brings you to a black and white list that you have to try and figure out where you were. What is going on? ### 3/5 — Return the app to how it was! *2023-04-03* I was so glad to find this app in 2020 when I was completely unable to get my hands on an actual copy of my favorite magazine. Once I started being able to find paper copies, I wasn’t able to get them consistently, so I would download those issues. I was able to see which ones I had purchased previously, and able to zoom in on images to be able to see what would normally be in a much larger version. I can no longer do either. Please put it back the way it was! Est ce normal ! ### 2/5 — Layout a little strange *2020-09-17* The app does not have a standard magazine layout (ie you can see a whole page at one time) which makes it difficult to read on an iPad as you have to have the screen in portrait view and scroll down. The designers have also changed the online page layouts so they are different to the printed magazine, please change this, it is very annoying. ### 5/5 — Glitch fixed! *2019-09-14* Country Living UK is wonderful. I’m glad the through-the-cracks glitch was miraculously resolved. Hearst Publishing said it was Apple’s problem; Apple assured me it was Hearst’s. Regardless, a few days later, my digital issues appeared. I am HAPPY!!!! A bit confused, but utterly happy. Update: I’ve been patiently waiting for my September issue to appear. It should have appeared by early August at the latest, and it has not. I renewed my subscription, thinking maybe that was the problem, but still no September. Based on the cover, it looks like a great issue! When I tried to get help, I couldn’t “send” my complaint! My only available option was “cancel,” which is what I’ll do if this isn’t resolved soon! No matter how great the digital version of this magazine is, it’s no good, if you can’t access it after you’ve paid for it! ### 5/5 — App is not updating *2019-09-12, version 6.5* The September and October issues finally arrived a month late but now the app will not restore the previous issues bought through a subscription that I’ve had for years. Let’s fix this app once and for all and make it work like it should. In order to now see them I must always have to pay to access them! This is garbage and I will no longer buy into any iTunes or Apple app! Thieves! One extremely unhappy previous customer. 😡 ### 1/5 — Very awkward interface with the app *2023-11-05* Just had to shift from the kindle version of the digital magazine to the app made by the magazine itself. Baffling that it is this awkward to use when kindle already made a digital interface that is perfect for iPads. Why change it? Downward swipe to go through articles and then right left swipe to turn pages, doesn’t seem to save the page you were on, doesn’t show pictures or blurbs for the articles in the table of contents so it’s hard to navigate. Really unfortunate. All the hearst apps are terrible in this way. Content remains amazing but the app is shockingly bad for the price of the year subscription. Shame on you. There is a list and on selection of an article, one can then flips back through pages to start at the cover. This error in the app detracts from the pleasure of reading cover to cover. Additionally all historical issues are no longer downloaded and available offline. What a tiresome time it has been to download years of issues. Please resolve these items. I reinstalled app and it didn’t help. I have this app on my iPad and have never had an issue downloading. Much prefer to have on my iPad rather than paper version as I have it with me all the time can zoom in and out of pictures to really see specific items can screenshot items and save to my scrapbook for inspiration on projects. Share articles with friends. Love the addition of free downloads on certain extra magazines as part of my subscription. One criticism is that it doesn’t stay downloaded on my iPad any more so i have to download each time I open the App and if I’m out and about or travelling I can’t access without Wi-fi. Where is my beautiful, colorful magazine that I like to read cover to cover? The next complaint I have is that I hate reading from top to bottom! Have the magazine read like a real magazine where you flip the pages from right to left. It’s so annoying to read this way. I’ve canceled my subscription until and if they make these changes so that the magazine is enjoyable to read. ### 5/5 — Best magazine! *2021-12-09* Country Living British Edition has been my favorite magazine for years! I started reading it years ago while temporarily living in London. Then I used to be able to find it in several bookstores and airports in France. But since the Brexit it was no longer available anywhere. What a joy to have access to it via a digital subscription! Why didn’t I think about it earlier!? Although I do miss having it on my bedside table as an invitation to relax. (The paper subscription is really way too expensive from France.) This magazine has it all. News, decoration, fashion, practical articles on many subjects, gardening, cooking….. On top of it all, it is well written and well documented. I feel rested just looking at its cover. I pace myself through it to make the pleasure last: I allow myself only a few pages a day. It’s my reward along with a cup of coffee or tea. I retreat in its pages and unwind in its beauty. I enjoy the poetic quotations, the amazing pictures, the delightful stories, the excellent recipes, the selections of well crafted objects that turn everyday life into something meant to bring joy and make beauty available to all. Finally, I learn so much on so many subjects, arts, crafts and cultures. Thank you so much!!!!
