The local reporting has been top-notch in every category but really outstanding on local and regional developments impacted by the Covid crisis. I think Gannett’s acquisition has improved the overall quality of the content as well. We now have better coverage of events state-wide and much improved coverage of national and international developments. In an age of information overload, of which so much is unsubstantiated and mis-leading, we know we can rely on the integrity and diligence of the Courier and Press team to give us important news fairly and accurately. ### 5/5 — Convenient format *2021-06-23, version 3.3.07* Love the convenience of always having the C&P newspaper available on my iPhone and iPad. I have Cochlear implants and I look forward to reading/listening to the news articles as my sight is slowly failing.In my opinion this app is well worth the cost which is free when you buy the paper. No real personal stories. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Problematic *2018-12-29, version 2.9.10* This was just okay until a few days ago when it failed to load and tells me I do not have an internet connection. I clearly do. I uninstalled the app and tried all kinds of things but no luck. I called support twice and it is located in the Philippines. I had to spell out everything they asked for and they didn’t recognize Indiana as a state when I gave them Newburgh, Indiana in my address. They clearly didn’t know anything technical and I finally hung up. They changed my password even though I told them that wasn’t the problem, because I could log into my account just fine. I have emailed them and all I get is very poorly worded responses that don’t help, so they apparently are coming from the same location in the Philippines. This is ridiculous! They should be embarrassed. This was on an iPad, and my Android phone won’t load the print edition either, so I’m about ready to give up on them. ### 1/5 — Scam *2017-06-13, version 2.6.62* App has only one page and says it's broken. NOTHIN with this app is interactive! Better off buying the print edition! ### 2/5 — Locks constantly *2017-05-29, version 2.6.62* Pages stick when turning them. Drill down view focus takes forever. My only problem is, I can’t get Yesterdays or the day before paper online. It’s no longer news when you get everything so long after the events actually happened. Your policy of having the paper printed and shipped across the country has taken away a lot of the joy of reading the NEWS! I’m addition. Sometimes the print is so blurry that it can’t be read and when pulling up the laters addition at times it comes up on page 16 as an example and you must scroll back to get to page one which is aggravating! ### 3/5 — Old News *2022-10-02, version 3.6.13* Other than 3 or 4 articles and the ads, this is the Indy Star. I mainly keep subscribing for the obits and the USA Today that accompanies it. The USA Today has up to date sports and news. There is no longer a daily paper available in my home town, so this daily online newspaper fills the void quite nicely. My Mother and both of her sisters were rural carriers for so many years.. both the Courier and Press and I often rode with one of them on Sunday morning-and when the issue was especially large and difficult to handle ....my brother continued to run our Mom’s route when she couldn’t physically do it anymore All I ever knew was starting the day with the Courier....until just a few years ago when I decided to get the App. Now, at the age of 75, can start my day with the C&P app any time of the day‼️. The EC&P serves its community of readers in important ways beyond the headlines. Its stories nourish our sense of belonging, for example, our compassion for people going through difficulty in these pandemic days, or the economic and environmental effects on the local Newburgh Fiddler Fest, the interdependence from stream to dinner plate. The EC&P threads an important connection to community among its readers as only local newspapers can do. Thank you.
