## What is Court Time?

You spent your Friday night perfecting a basketball rotation spreadsheet. You balanced the minutes, you set the matchups, you had a plan.

Then Saturday morning hits.

Mason arrives ten minutes late. Your center picks up three fouls in the first quarter. Suddenly, your perfect plan is trashed, and you are back to scribbling a new lineup on a messy clipboard while the game runs away from you.

You signed up to develop kids, not to manage a stopwatch.

Every minute you spend staring at a spreadsheet is a minute you aren't watching the game, high-fiving a great defensive play, or teaching a kid who just made a mistake.

Introducing Court Time.

Court Time is the professional sideline assistant for youth basketball coaches. It gives you your eyes back. It handles the logistics, the calculations, and the chaos, so you can just be a coach.

IT ADAPTS TO THE GAME, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND:

SMART SETUP
Prefer to run a custom game plan? Pick your rotation times and the app will instantly warn you if your setup creates dead zones or leaves players sitting too long. It is your strategic safety net before you even step onto the court.

FOUL TROUBLE? NO PROBLEM
Real games are messy. If a player gets in foul trouble early, you sit them. The Shadow Brain AI instantly recalculates the minutes for the rest of the team. You don't have to scramble to fix the rotation. The app does it for you.

RIDE THE MOMENTUM
Sometimes, you just need to let them play. If your team is on a run, ignore the sub alert. Court Time tracks the extra minutes and intelligently balances the equal playing time equation later in the game. It supports your instincts. It doesn't replace them.

DYNAMIC FAIRNESS
Late arrival? Minor injury? The app watches the clock in real-time. It knows exactly who needs minutes and suggests the smartest subs to keep legs fresh and parents happy.

THE RECEIPTS AND AI DEBRIEF
Game over? Hit one button to generate a beautiful, shareable summary proving exactly who played how much to end the fair play debates before the car ride home. Plus, review your AI Post-Game Debrief to see exactly how efficient your rotation strategy was.

PREMIUM TOOLS, ONE PRICE.
We don't believe in renting your equipment. You don't pay a monthly subscription for your whistle. You shouldn't pay one for your coaching software.

Court Time Standard: The complete digital clipboard with live AI sub suggestions.

Court Time Pro (One-time Upgrade): Unlimited teams, Game History database, and advanced analytics.

Stop staring at the stopwatch. Start coaching the kids.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed

*2026-03-17, version 1.12*

Finally, an app that understands kids basketball. Simple, effective, and handles injuries perfectly. If you manage a basketball team and want to keep things fair and organised, just get it. Takes the stress out of Saturday

### 3/5 — Functionality

*2026-02-21, version 1.07*

Upon receiving contact from my first review, I’ve updated my review. Ok app and can be used functionally but they need to consider layout for all phone types. Will provide seperate feedback.

### 5/5 — GAME CHANGER

*2026-02-10, version 1.07*

I coach 3 teams, from U8’s through to U14’s domestically. One of the best important parts of domestic ball is even playing time across players. I used to spend (sometimes hours) through the week preparing my rotations across my teams, always trying to fine tune balance of skill on court with everyone getting the same playing time, but things happen.. players call in sick late, early foul trouble, or the rotations just aren’t working for the opposition. Scrambling last minute to fix what I’d worked out and still maintaining even playing time was a huge stress for me as a coach. I have Court Time a go an instantly obsessed. I let go of pre planning and let the app work for me in the moment, it clearly calculates playing time for each player, and reminds me when things like player fatigue or foul trouble are coming into play. It’s given me back the opportunity to stand, watch, observe and coach in real time and make decisions when they need to be made, knowing I can balance everything out as I go - Court Times ability to help me quickly track where everyone is at is a massive game changer that every coach needs to get their hands on.

### 5/5 — A total game changer for junior basketball

*2026-01-21, version 1.04*

I’ve tried a few of these and most are way too complicated. This one is actually intuitive. Great for when you have a kid show up late or someone gets injured and you have to change the rotation. It’s going to become a bit of a staple in my coaching kit now. Well worth the few bucks.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.12 — 2026-03-04

We have been looking closely at the game data , and we are incredibly excited to roll out one of the biggest under the hood updates to the Court Time engine yet.

There are no flashy new menus to learn today. Instead, we have completely overhauled the brain of your AI Assistant to make it smarter, sharper, and more aware of actual game flow.

Here is what is new in this update:

* **The Post-Game AI Debrief:** Your AI Assistant is no longer just a stopwatch. It is now a full-time bench analyst. After the final buzzer, the app runs a rapid diagnostic on your game data and provides a contextual, written debrief. It factors in game flow, injury disruptions, and foul trouble to give you a professional-grade assessment of how well your rotation spread was managed.

* **Next-Gen Load Management:** We spent a lot of time stress-testing chaotic 12 and 13-player rosters. We have deployed a new predictive algorithm that anticipates bench logjams before they happen. Whether you are using Auto-Assist or running a strict manual timer, the engine is now highly optimized to handle oversized squads with absolute grace.

* **The "Two Masons" Rule:** Having multiple players with the same first name is a classic junior basketball headache. The app now automatically detects duplicate names on your roster and smartly adds their last initial to the player tiles. You will never accidentally sub out the wrong kid in a chaotic fourth quarter again.

* **Pro Box Scores:** We redesigned the post-game summary screen and export sheet. Roster data is now sorted cleanly and alphabetically rather than by total minutes played. It reads exactly like a premium box score and is perfect for dropping straight into the parents' group chat the second the game ends.

* **Under the Hood:** We stripped out a massive amount of internal testing code. The app is now leaner, meaner, and completely optimized for game day.

If Court Time is saving you from a sideline headache this season, leaving a quick rating on the App Store is the absolute best way to support our continuous development. Good luck out there this weekend!

V 1.11 Minor changes to tile sizes again for smaller phones

The Full Court Press Update!

We were originally going to call this update 1.0.9, but we went full court press on the feature list this week and decided to skip ahead straight to version 1.1.

First off, we have been absolutely loving the feedback from the Saturday morning coaches. Hearing how the app is keeping your court time perfectly balanced, and keeping those awkward post-game parent conversations out of your life, is exactly why we built Court Time. We are here to put our arms around you, handle the chaos, and make you look like a pro on the sideline.

While we love running the stopwatch for you, we know every coach has their own style. This massive update is all about giving you flexibility in how the AI assists you:

Smart Setup (Your Strategic Safety Net)
Want to call your own custom rotation timings instead of using Full AI Auto? Go for it! But now, your assistant has your back. The AI will analyze your custom plan before tip off and warn you if your setup creates "dead zones" or leaves players sitting on the bench for too long.

The AI Post-Game Debrief
Ever wonder how your custom game plan actually performed? Hit "End Game" and view the brand new Assistant's Post-Game Report. The AI will analyze your actual court time variance, give you a quick performance debrief, and politely tell you how tight the spread would have been if it managed the clock. (We promise the AI won't gloat... much).

Dynamic AI Panel for Smaller Screens
Making a massive 5-player hockey sub on a smaller iPhone used to be a bit squishy. No more! The AI Assist panel now dynamically expands to show all your pending subs in one clean, beautiful stack. Instantly see exactly who is going on and off, and clear them all with a single tap.

More Time Options
You asked, we answered. We didn't think we could squeeze another game duration option into the settings, but here we are. Keep the feature requests coming and we will keep delivering!

As always, if Court Time is making your weekends easier, a quick App Store review means the world to a solo developer.

Good luck on the court this weekend, Coach!

### 1.07 — 2026-02-05

What's New in Version 1.07

The "Candy" Edition

This update is dedicated to Candy (and every other coach who slid into our DMs with very specific timing requests). You asked, we listened.

17-Minute Quarters? You Got It. We’ve been adding timing options faster than a Steph Curry release. We recently added 6, 18, 24, and 25-minute durations. Now, by popular demand, the 17-minute setting is live. To the coaches running 14.9382 minute quarters out there: come at us. We’re ready for you.

A Smarter "Quiet Mode" We tweaked the brain inside the app. Previously, the AI was a little eager to suggest rotations early in the quarter. We’ve taught it to "read the room."

	•	The Upgrade: The AI now understands the flow of your specific game length.

	•	The Result: If you are playing long quarters, the AI knows to let the players settle in before suggesting moves. It’s the same mathematical fairness you trust, but with a better sense of timing. It adapts to you, not the other way around.

Tactile Feedback We polished the "Drag & Drop" experience. When you grab a player tile to make a manual substitution, you’ll now see a distinct Electric Blue active border. It feels stickier, snappier, and lets you know exactly who you’ve got a hold of.

Housekeeping
	•	History View: Tightened up the gate logic for viewing past game stats.
	•	Performance: Smoother scrolling in the roster view for large teams.

Keep the feedback coming. We’re building this for you.

### 1.06 — 2026-02-01

It’s the summer of Court Time. As we head into our third week on the App Store, we are absolutely floored to see Court Time hit #1 in Paid Sports Apps. We knew this tool would be useful, but your support has blown our expectations out of the water.

To everyone who reached out with ideas, encouragement, five-star ratings, and detailed feedback from the sidelines... thank you. We heard you, and we got to work.

Under the Hood: The Engine Gets Smarter We’ve doubled down on the logic that makes Court Time special. This isn’t just a stopwatch; it’s a smart assistant that thinks like a coach.

Precision Timing Engine: We have completely rebuilt the internal game clock to rely on real-world timestamps rather than screen refresh rates. This ensures 100% accuracy on every device, specifically resolving a timing drift issue affecting newer models with ProMotion displays (iPhone 13 Pro, 14 Pro, 15 Pro, etc.).

Settings Safeguards: Fixed a rare edge case where the "Period Duration" setting could revert to a 6-minute default if the clock hit exactly 0:00. Your custom game length is now locked in until you decide to change it.

Fluid Adaptability: Fouls? Injuries? Late arrivals? The engine recalculates instantly without breaking a sweat, so you can focus on the game, not the math.

Thank you for making us #1.
