### 5/5 — Finally a proper app for tennis & padel players

*2026-04-26*

This app is exactly what tennis/padel players needed. Super clean design, easy to set up matches, and love the score tracking feature. The match readiness feature is a really cool touch too. It actually makes you think about your performance before playing.

Feels like a proper “all-in-one” app for playing, tracking, and improving. Excited to see how it evolves!

**Developer response:** Thanks

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 5.5.2 — 2026-09-07

Change the server from Apple Watch

You can now switch who is serving during a live match from your wrist. Tap Change on the Watch score screen, confirm, and the yellow serve indicator flips. Automatic rotation continues from the new server, and the change syncs to iPhone.

### 5.5.1 — 2026-09-02

CourtsidePlay
Advanced racket-sport scoring and analytics for Tennis, Padel, Beach Tennis, and Badminton — on iPhone and Apple Watch. No registration. Your data stays on your devices.

### 5.5.0 — 2026-08-18

CourtsidePlay 5.5.0 adds three big features:

• Meals — On-device meal plans for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and match day, from your profile/weather or a kitchen photo
• Warmup — Guided routines sized to you, with voice timers on iPhone and Apple Watch
• Equipment — Log racquets, strings, grips & more, optional photo assist, match assignment, restring history, and a colour usage graph

All processed on your device.

### 5.4.0 — 2026-06-19

Shot Calibration & Court Weather

• Shot Calibration — Teach CourtsidePlay your own strokes. Play each shot a couple of times on your Apple Watch and the app learns your motion signature for more accurate shot detection. Calibrate per sport, it respects your dominant hand, and it's fully optional — uncalibrated sports use the default detector and you can delete any calibration anytime.

• Weather & Court Wind — A local 3-hour forecast (30-minute steps: temperature, wind, cloud, chance of rain, humidity) now sits on your Matches screen, powered by Apple Weather. Tap it for Court & Wind: a court that orients to your compass, shows the sun's position, and demonstrates how wind drifts the ball on serves and groundstrokes — with a switch-ends view.

Your location is used only to fetch the forecast and is never stored or uploaded.

### 5.3.1 — 2026-06-11

A focused update that makes Watch ↔ iPhone sync more dependable and swing analytics more useful on court — especially for tennis and padel.

Fixes
Manual sync brings your full match to iPhone. Heart rate, calories, swing counts, and shot-by-shot history now arrive together when you tap Sync to iPhone — so Match Summary looks complete even if you never opened the phone during play.
Demo matches finish at the right score. Matches — especially quick demo games on Apple Watch — no longer stop one point before the target you set.
Watch and iPhone stay aligned. Final scores match what you actually played, including when you use Auto sync or finish a match from your wrist.
Swing analytics (Tennis & Padel)
Volleys and drop shots are back. Net taps and soft drops at the front of the court are recognised again in your shot breakdown — important for padel, where most rallies happen at the net.
Smarter serve counting in tennis. Only your actual serve at the start of a point is labelled Serve — not every overhead you hit later in the rally while you're still serving the game.
More accurate padel serves. Bouncing the ball before you serve no longer shows up as a serve in your stats.
Better topspin reads. Heavy topspin forehands and backhands are more likely to show as topspin instead of flat drives in your spin breakdown.
Padel overheads. Bandeja and vibora shots are separated more reliably from plain smashes in your analytics.
