## What is Cover Canvas?

Your playlists sound great. Now make them look great too.

Cover Canvas turns any Apple Music or Spotify playlist into custom cover art in about a minute. No design skills. No complicated tools. Just artwork that looks as good as your taste in music.

WHAT MAKES COVER CANVAS DIFFERENT
Depth Effect — lift the subject out of any photo so your title sits behind them, like a real album sleeve. Processed entirely on your device.
The Shelf — every cover you make lines up as a vinyl spine on your own record shelf. Pin favorites face-out and tap to play.
Collections — new template drops every month, so the gallery never goes stale.
Featured Artists — pull artist photography from your Apple Music library straight into the editor.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Connect your music — sign in with Apple Music to browse your library, or start a design for a Spotify or standalone playlist.
2. Pick a playlist — choose the one you want to restyle.
3. Choose a template — 75 curated designs across Genres, Decades, Visuals, Activities and more, plus every monthly Collection drop.
4. Make it yours — edit text, swap fonts and colors, rotate and layer, add effects (shadow, outline, neon, emboss, glow), drop in a photo background and dial in blur, dim and crop.
5. Save and apply — export at full 3000×3000 resolution and set it as your playlist artwork.

WHAT YOU GET

• 75 curated templates with fresh designs for every genre and mood
• Millions of free photos — search or browse curated categories (Nature, Abstract, 3D Renders, Wallpapers) right from the Gallery tab, powered by Unsplash. Free for everyone.
• Import your own photos with blur, dim and crop controls
• Powerful text editor: 18 typefaces, colors, rotation, text backgrounds, alignment and five text effects
• Your Shelf — a growing record shelf of everything you've made
• High-resolution export (3000×3000), pixel-perfect on any screen
• On iPhone and iPad, in any orientation
• No account, no sign-up. Your designs and photos stay on your device.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.7 — 2026-10-10

More ways to make every playlist your own.

• NEW PRO TEXT EFFECTS
Give your titles a new look with Gradient, Metallic, Retro 3D, Glitch, Echo, and Sticker.

• NEW PRO TEXT LAYOUTS
Stack, Wave, Repeat, and Arc let you curve your titles, repeat your text, and create bold layered designs. Combine layouts with text effects for even more possibilities.

• PREVIEW PRO BEFORE UPGRADING
Try Pro templates, Featured Artist photos, fonts, effects, layouts, and Depth Effect directly on your cover. Exporting artwork that uses Pro features requires a Pro subscription.

• A REDESIGNED GALLERY
Browse larger category cards and clearer template previews to find a style that fits your music.

• EASIER STYLE SELECTION
Updated font and effect pickers separate Free and Pro options, with visual previews to help you choose.

• A FRESH APP ICON
A new look for Cover Canvas on your Home Screen.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-09-26

Jacket is now Cover Canvas.

Same app, same designs, same Shelf — new name. Everything you've made is exactly where you left it.

NOW ON IPAD
Cover Canvas is a native iPad app. Edit in any orientation, with a sidebar for getting around and a dedicated tool inspector beside a much larger canvas. Resize the window and the layout follows.

FEATURED ARTISTS, SIMPLIFIED
Tap an artist and land straight in the editor with their photo already in place — no extra picker in between. The first three artists are free.

A CLEARER UPGRADE SCREEN
Pro now has a single upgrade screen with monthly and yearly plans, and it opens the same way from everywhere in the app.

FIXES
• Your subscription status no longer resets after a dropped connection
• Titles, buttons and grids no longer stretch or clip on larger screens
• Layout fixes across onboarding, the export sheet and the Shelf

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-04

NEW: PREMIUM FONTS

Your cover art now has more ways to express its sound. This update introduces a curated collection of premium fonts, available to Pro members directly in the editor.

Browse new type styles, preview them on your artwork, and find the perfect look for every playlist—from clean and modern to bold and editorial.

Thanks for creating with Jacket.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-06

THE SHELF
Every cover you make now lines up as a vinyl spine on your own record shelf. Pin favorites face-out, tap one to spin it on the in-app turntable, and tuck the rest away in the Storage Crate.

DEPTH EFFECT
Lift the subject out of any photo so your title sits behind them — the layered look of a real album sleeve, in one tap.

COLLECTIONS
A new themed template drop lands in the gallery every month. No app update needed.

FIXED
• Covers made without a playlist no longer save as "My Cover" — they take their name from the artwork
• Fewer stalls loading featured artist images

Jacket now requires iOS 26. Building on the latest system frameworks is what lets features like the Shelf and Depth Effect feel native, and it keeps the app leaner going forward.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-04-15

category, preview with attribution, and drop it straight into your cover.

Also new:
- Rule-of-thirds grid appears when you drag text, so every layout lands
  perfectly aligned
- Under-the-hood improvements to keep your designs safe across future
  updates
- Various bug fixes and polish
