Their previous app was also bad and apparently they spent a lot of time replacing with one that’s even worse. You have to sign into the app every time you open it. Why doesn’t any other app I have work that way? It also doesn’t seem to be aware of the state of the machine when it sends notifications because it’s always sending me incorrect notifications about the state of the machine. I love Coway air purifiers, but this app will make me think twice before buying another one. ### 1/5 — App makes the air purifier worthless. Every time I actually need to use this app it takes a lifetime to open. First an update inside the app itself, then oops your login is timed out, you need to login again. Oh, and also, time to change your password again. So 2 minutes later I can finally change the speed on my fan up one notch. The app will not allow connecting the device to WiFi. I’ve battled with this thing for three years and I’ve had enough. Once I figured out how to do this, it worked like a charm. You can Google how to add this to your Wi-Fi network. As per their terms of service. DONT do it that app is not worth it it’s wayy too slow and has no benefits to just using the buttons on the purifiers. The app seems like the whole point of their app is to collect data since there is no care in the actual app and literally 3min after I signed up I got spammed a bunch of spam emails. Which those emails are designed to target unaware users and potentially scam a Bunch of people This is not a company you want to give your data too. Takes way too long to log in. Everytime. Surprising how much this matters, until you have to deal with it on a regular basis. Filter starts up for no reason in the middle of the night… Logins, password. Apartment gets smoky because I’m making a steak and the filter doesn’t start in its own… logins and passwords. It’s 4 screens of them - Loading. Login button. Password screen. Loading again. Slow, slow slow. This app is such a chore to use. You have to sign into it EVERY TIME. Even after optimizing my login procedure, it takes over 45 seconds to go from login to controlling my device. And on top of this, it’s now reminding me to cycle my password on login. We have used the app since day one and love it. We do not have sign in issues. It auto logs us in every time. There was only one time I had to re-login but that was no big deal. No problems with the app thus far. I’ll update in the future once I have had it for a while. Update 1 month: No issues with the app, easy to use. Occasionally logs out (about the same as most apps) but if you save the password in your phone it’s easy. No connection issues. Schedules work well. ### 5/5 — Works Great w/Google Home & Alexa *2024-12-06, version 2.3.38* This takes a minute to create an account with Coway, then get the air purifier connected to a Wi-Fi network. Once it's set up, you can use Google Home or Alexa to control all of the features. Put it in your 2.4ghz network and be sure to NOT allow your router to auto switch between 5ghz and 2.4 on that network. It will result in m connection issues described in the low rated reviews here. As with all IOT, our network is partitioned so that our 5ghz can access IOT devices running on the 2.4 network, but the 2.4 cannot reach out to our more important personal devices in the 5ghz network. If your router can’t do this, get a new one. ### 5/5 — App works fine *2024-03-10* I saw all the bad reviews of the app and thought this has to be wrong. Recently received my mega 400s, configured the wireless and added it to the app. The app works perfectly fine, however I can see how people with no experience working with tech may see the app as garbage. Technology takes a little effort sometimes, and those not putting in the effort most likely aren’t smart enough to figure things out. ### 5/5 — Easy & Convenient - Works Good *2023-06-13* Purchased Airmega 300S and installed the app. Setting up was easy and the app was also easy to use. Convenient app as I can control it through the app. (Power, Timer, Mode including smart mode, Fan speed, Light) Notifications for change of air condition were good. The Airmega is relatively small but covers over 1200sqft. I have 4 Dyson air purifiers and this my first Coway air purifier. I’m very satisfied with it and actually by far the best air purifier I’ve ever had even over the Dyson.
