But the app interface makes no sense. I don’t believe the reason why they said they need to use a custom keyboard rather than the native iOS one. Don’t waste your time because you will not use this app. when you uninstall it, make sure to revoke keyboard privileges on your phone. **Developer response:** Hello, you don't have to use custom keyboard to Chat with AI. Custom keyboard is needed if you want to run AI commands on other apps' text fields. But this keyboard increased my productivity I remember to use chatgpt when I am doing something and it's great to get help from it right in that app. Instead of slacking I am taking the action it solves all my hesitations. In response to your concerns: Concern 1:Excessive and suspicious level of permissions Answer: Launching as a 3rd party keyboard contains problems within. 3rd Party keyboards can't access to OpenAI APIs without full access. Therefore it's not on excessive level but mandatory to use OpenAI APIs. Our IDFA consent text only states that a device ID is used and the events the app captures are limited to keyboard activation, keyboard full access, and if the keyboard is selected from the keyboards list. You can see it's lesser permissions than official OpenAI app when compared. Concern 2: Buggy app Answer: We have 0 crash rate since our launch. None of our users experienced a crash or bug in our app. Due to the nature of the App's keyboard it uses OpenAI APIs and Google APIs therefore you may realize service outages caused by them. Some usages on peak times may cause outages this is due to unresponsiveness of OpenAI or Google APIs. Keymate doesn't have any backend server that may cause an outage. Concern 3: Low-quality design Answer: We totally agree.
