However, the ball is unpredictable. Even with getting a “perfect” shot, it might bounce and go further than you want, sometimes off the course. Sometimes it feels like the game encourages me to go for “great” shots instead, since the ball seems to stop in place more often. I’d like to have a way to put spin on the ball when I’m not aiming. Have a ball with crosshairs on it for positioning where the game should hit the ball, and then it goes away when you go into aiming. You should still get punished for bad shots, but right now it’s still way too unpredictable even with proper shots. P.S. One time I hit a “good” shot, and it sent it off the edge from the middle of a platform, which felt like way too much of a punishment. I’d just add a directional vector to make it go awry, no speed increase **Developer response:** Thank you for your review! The physics have been reworked in the new 1.8 update. The ball will not bounce at all with “perfect” shots and might only bounce a small amount with “great” shots. All other accuracies are subject to a random bounce, with “yikes” shots bouncing more. In addition, the roll should now be more proportional to the distance hit and club used, with “perfect” and “great” shots rolling less. I hope this gives you a more predictable and enjoyable gameplay experience :) ### 5/5 — Amazing *2025-12-11* SOOOO relaxing and fun. Never play golf in real life but I’m a pro here! The simple color schemes are so fun and almost nostalgic, and the sounds/ambiance are cool and soothing. I could play for hours cuddled up on the couch. The post cards and messages from the daily level are adorable and uplifting. Endless fun and worth the purchase. Quick turnaround on addressing bug reports. Only frustration is that the green acts completely different in nearly the same exact spot, and there’s no way to tell. It’s like there’s a texture mapping for some areas to be fast and some to be slow, but no way for the player to see that. Even hitting a perfect shot on nearly the same spot with same club results in vastly different bounce or roll distance. If that’s by design, that’s fine, but that’s my only critique. Make the camera rotation a bit faster or add a slider setting that the player can set. Also, display previously best score for each course. It would give the game more replayability if one could see previous score and try to beat it. Ball movement/shot strength/camera/endless vibrating are the most prominent. However, I really enjoy playing this! This is the only 3D golf game I can find that isn’t riddled with ads and gambling junk — that alone makes it worth it. They’ve released a ton of updates (and a level pack that’s actually worth it) for Simple Match 3 so I’m confident they’ll keep working on this. **Developer response:** Thanks so much for your review! Really enjoyable and I’m a huge fan of paying for games upfront and not having a bunch of IAPs. Only a couple hiccups. Sometimes touching the ball and pulling back for a shot misbehaves and takes several attempts before I get the shot indicator to move. Also I’ve had a couple occasions where the haptic starts up in different areas and stays going until I force close the app. iPhone 17 pro max with iOS 26.1. **Developer response:** Thank you for your review! Stumbled upon it looking for a new game that was without in app purchases and adds……I honestly think I hit a hole in one! I don’t write reviews, but I sincerely found this to be far more worthy than most. Cozy golf provides a great atmosphere and rewarding progress offering. You can pop in a play a few rounds without stress or sit for a good spell to unwind. This is what gaming is all about. I give the developer high praise for this gem and could not be happier supporting their efforts. Two bucks well spent! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Intentionally bad physics *2026-05-12, version 1.7.1* The atrocious physics in Cozy Golf are clearly intentional. Consistent, predictable ball behavior would make the game trivially easy, so the developers instead built in random, inconsistent nonsense to artificially inflate difficulty. “Perfect” shots regularly miss targets by wide margins, while “Poor” or “Yikes” hits sometimes deliver wildly lucky results. One daily challenge hole surrounded by water required 46 attempts for a hole-in-one despite dozens of Perfect and Great swings aimed straight at the cup. This isn’t golf—it’s a slot machine with clubs. The courses don’t help. Clunky blocky layouts replace actual design skill with cheap obstacles. Fix the broken physics and create smooth, intelligently sloped courses that offer real challenge. As it stands, it’s a shallow, frustrating mess pretending to be cozy. Save your money. ### 1/5 — NOT cozy….FRUSTRATING *2026-04-25, version 1.7.1* All I wanted was a nice idle game with good play and challenge….WHAT I GOT WAS….a game that is rigged….your shots are either too short (the ball just stops) or too long (the ball takes a huge bounce and roll). So you try it again….THERE IS NO SWEET SPOT…even if you get a perfect hit. Fed up with idiotic developers who put these idiotic games in the store. So precisely put….THIS GAME CHEATS. Please make the game respond more consistently….yet another game that is deleted. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2026-01-25, version 1.7.1* Physics are broken. Ball either sits or runs crazy long, no consistency. Unplayable. ### 1/5 — Intentionally bad physics *2026-01-11, version 1.7.1* I finally understand why the physics are so horrible in this game and it has to be intentional. Yes intentional. If the physics behaved consistently the same, like physics should, this game would be very easy. Everyone would be enjoying high scores instead of suffering through inconsistent and unpredictable gameplay. I’d suggest fixing the ball physics and instead create more challenging courses. I’d drop the block like course and go with smooth lines and slopes that present a true challenge. As it is now it’s a basic simple game with a ridiculous work around to keep it interesting. I bought it, but I ain’t buying it. Heck, maybe I’ll develop my own game, so easy these days with Claude Code and Opus 4.5 Just got done playing daily 357. I was using the iron to take my first shot at the single block hole surrounded by water. I was aiming directly into the hole. 22 times I got Perfect and 24 times I got great. It took 46 attempts to finally get a hole in1. This is ridiculous. One would think “perfect “ would mean the ball goes exactly where you aim it. But instead it goes somewhere random. Also, (not related to the above hole) try hitting Poor or Yikes intentionally, seems like about 1/3 the time you end up with a much better shot than you’d expect, except you don’t get the points Perfect gives you, some can be quite wild. ### 1/5 — Didn’t work *2025-11-24, version 1.5* I wanted to support a fun app doesn’t collect data, but it just won’t load. I have a 2nd gen 12.9” iPad running v17.7.10 and can’t load the game and had to request a refund. I would re-buy it if I knew it worked. ### 2/5 — Update 1.8 woes *2026-06-02* Update 1.8 removed the “restart” option on the daily level, which now forces you to play all the way through that level to the end. Even if you exit the game and go back in, you still have to play all the way through. If you make some really bad shots and just want to start over, you can’t anymore. Completely takes the fun out of the game. Please restore the Restart option on the Daily Level. ### 2/5 — 46 times in a row *2025-12-23, version 1.7.1* Just got done playing daily 357. According to the achievements I’ve now hit the ball 8,471 times, so I’ve played quite a bit. Anyone that’s regularly ranked in the top 10 on the leaderboard can attest to the highly unusual physics. The game has more in common with gambling than actual skill. ### 3/5 — Cute game *2026-03-12, version 1.7.1* Love this creator. Like this game. Starts off fine but it gets repetitive the further along you go. I’m sure some like enjoy the gameplay and challenges but I got bored pretty quick. iPhones are not great for precision skill games. ### 3/5 — Great concept, inconsistent physics *2025-11-26* There are points where the ball either hits a barrier(or maybe an edge on the ball?) then bounces a different direction from the original trajectory. I love the game idea ton, the physics need some polishing though. I’m going to wait to complete the game until the physics are more consistent, because right now I find it frustrating and fruitless to play. They’re a breath of fresh are in a sea of ad-riddled, gatcha games. The _only_ thing I could ask for is landscape support on the iPad. Please! Playing on a bigger screen is more comfortable, but they’re all locked to portrait mode. It can be awkward to hold the device this way, as most cases stand up the device in landscape mode. Other than that, great job! We’ve got the longtime heavyweights like RSNRSN, The Stink, Jon Mac, Ellie and always bringing up the rear of the field the infallible JAMES! However more recent upstarts like Charlie and Genevieve have stormed onto the scene and shown a thing or 2 to everyone, providing fresh competition. I hope you can understand. ### 5/5 — This is what a mobile game should be! *2026-05-14, version 1.7.1* What a simple, clean, and refreshing game. This game is just genuinely charming, with simple mechanics, a really fun gameplay loop, and no gimmicks. I’m not into gacha style, or most free to play games, as they all seem to quickly push you towards sinking cash into the game to progress. I just want something I can boot up, play for as long or little as I want, with no gimmicks or ‘daily challenges’ to coerce you into playing a game you might not actually enjoy much but FOMO keeps you coming back. This game has none of that - it’s just a one-time cost for a complete experience. And a great experience at that! The gameplay is fun. Seems super easy at first but becomes much more of a strategy as it goes. Physics are surprisingly good, but a few things might frustrate you. A huge amount of thanks to the developer for not only creating such a relaxing and endearing golf game in my opinion. But, also for offering the game for one fair price. You’re such a great and rare type of developer today in a sea of scummy micro-transactions. Thank you, immensely ❤️. This game really is so much fun, though. The gameplay mechanics setup for playing golf run very smoothly I think. It does definitely take some learned skill to play well but that is well explained by the tutorials in the game I believe. Yet, I’ve never felt any type of stress making strokes and trying to beat courses in Cozy Golf and that is wonderful to me. I like and appreciate how you can unlock new colored balls and flags by completing challenges in the game. I also appreciate just the overall aesthetics and presentation the game offers. Everything is designed to be very cozy and fun-looking in my opinion. Also, I just did experience that bug where the vibration starts after shooting and doesn’t end. So, many, many thanks for already having a patch out for that issue. I can’t wait to jump back into the game now with that fixed :D. I think if you enjoy golf and just having a fun time that Cozy Golf may appeal to you greatly.
