## What is Cozy Maze Game?

It's a cozy maze game! Navigate procedurally generated islands in space and avoid enemies (or blow them to smithereens) as you collect stars. Use your stars to purchase whimsical upgrades to enhance your play experience.

This game was created by my son (age 10) and me (his mom) as a part of the Global Game Jam 2021. My son did all the art and design, while I did the coding and sound. We hope you enjoy this relaxing gaming experience.

### 5/5 — Changed my life

*2026-01-12*

I purchased this maze game expecting a clever diversion—something to test reflexes and pattern recognition. What I encountered instead was an experience that dismantled my assumptions about challenge, patience, and purpose.

At first, the game was infuriating. The corridors felt intentionally cruel, the dead ends personal. The mechanics were precise to the point of unforgiving. I did what many players do when confronted with something that refuses to bend: I rage quit. Hard. I told myself it was just a poorly balanced game masquerading as “difficulty.”

I was wrong.

In the weeks after quitting, I kept thinking about the maze. Not the visuals or the levels, but the feeling—the sense that the maze wasn’t trying to block me, but to teach me something I refused to learn. That lingering discomfort eventually turned into a question: why did I need to conquer it so badly?

That question changed everything.

What followed sounds absurd, even to me. I left my routine, then my job, and eventually my country. I traveled to China searching for clarity I couldn’t articulate. Five years passed. I lived simply. I studied with Buddhists, learned discipline through stillness, and discovered that progress does not come from force, but from awareness. The maze was no longer an obstacle—it became a metaphor. Paths only reveal themselves when you stop fighting them.

When I returned and relaunched the game, something remarkable happened. The maze hadn’t changed—but I had. Where I once panicked, I paused. Where I once rushed, I observed. I stopped trying to beat the maze and started moving with it. Every turn felt intentional. Every failure felt instructional. When I finally reached the end, it didn’t feel like victory. It felt like completion.

This is not just a maze game. It is a mirror. If you are looking for something easy, look elsewhere. If you are willing to be frustrated, humbled, and ultimately transformed, this game may offer more than entertainment. It may offer a journey.

Five stars—for the courage to demand growth, and for a maze that taught me how to find my way by getting completely lost.
