### 3/5 — Good, needs some work

*2026-05-26, version 2.1.7*

I would give it 5 stars if it would allow to import Lo poly to rework

### 2/5 — Good tool but lacking (updated)

*2026-02-13, version 2.1.7*

It’s great for retopology, however, you need to pay if you want access to basic features like exporting or saving your work. The price just isn’t worth it.

After using this app for a while and paying for the lite version (much to my dismay), I’ve come across so many issues in this app. With more complex models, the mesh will cover your topology. The camera will occasionally freak out when zooming into the finer details. Areas with slightly denser topology won’t even show up.
Lastly, the touch controls don’t even work half the time, neither do the undo and redo buttons. Sometimes they need at least 4 presses or more in order to actually work.
Overall, it’s a buggy mess.

If you’re going to use this for simple models and willing to pay, go for it. For complex models? Learn blender.

### 2/5 — Almost great

*2025-11-03, version 2.1.7*

The core functionality of CozyBlanket works really well - allowing users to do retopology on the iPad. It’s just lacking in a few areas. I feel like the UI is mostly okay, but saving files is clunky and unclear. I also like to have reference open in another window but CozyBlanket doesn’t work well with iPad multitasking windows, which was quite buggy and very frustrating (the undo button is also right under the minimise window button, arggh!) For the price it would be nice to see things tightened up a bit, but overall I do like it recommended it, despite the flaws.

### 3/5 — Almost really good but not there yet

*2025-09-14, version 2.1.7*

Bought the full version and I regret it. Like i said, its almost there, but there’s too many small issues. I’m writing this because if they improve it it’ll be a great app and i hope my feedback will be useful. It’s having a hard time to be precise with the pen, it doesn’t always click where i intend to. The tools are incomplete, id like to be able to scale my area when i drag for example. I’d like to be able to work with the faces and edges not only the vertices and not an entire loop. It’s sold as an app dedicated to IPad, but they dont fully utilize the apple pen capabilities, pen pressure, tilt and double tap are no where to be seen or used. Another life quality improvement would be like in nomad, a palm detection and ignore it when i rest my hand on the screen would be great. Truly hope they keep improving it, it could make it actually pretty zen and enjoyable, but not yet.

### 2/5 — Great but didn’t restore my purchase.

*2025-04-22, version 2.1.4*

I love this app and has good features but when opening the app after long use it didn’t restore my purchase for the standard features which cost 80 DOLLARS. Which is nuts because it’s a one time charge. I did the same with FlipaClip and it still remembers my purchase to premium years ago. I just want to say that I want my purchase back because I don’t want to pay another 80 dollars just to pay again, to then charge me again when it’s not working. THATS DUMB. I don’t trust the app. I give it a 2/10 just for how expensive the app is.

### 3/5 — Good App, but is this still in development?

*2025-03-09*

This app is quite basic, but since there’s no competition, there aren’t many other options available. However, it does have some bugs that cause the app to crash, especially when using UV mapping. Despite its limitations, it’s a fun app to use, but my main concern is the developer’s commitment to it. Try it out and see if you find it useful.

### 3/5 — Great app, kinda pricey

*2025-02-22, version 2.1.4*

Not a bad app, but a few features are missing considering the price, and furthermore the gestures can be kinda iffy in some situations. - My biggest feature request, above anything else, is the ability to view and hide pieces of target mesh geometry individually, currently you can either use the lasso or isolate one piece. I want to be able to toggle each piece in a “scene viewer” style tab. It’s unbelievably annoying to try to isolate and work on two or three pieces rather than just one and it shouldn’t be this hard!!! -Gestures work less and less the further off you get from your target mesh which can occasionally be necessary for really low poly stuff. -Settings don’t save well, my toolset keeps removing the erase tool every time

I would like to add that I find it’s UV creation features to be really intuitive and quick to learn and use it’s just lacking some quality-of-life features, such as the aforementioned scene organizer. It also doesn’t have a mode specifically designed for creating UVs for a pre-existing low-poly model sans high poly which I would definitely want if I were to do more UVing in cozyblanket.

### 3/5 — Decent for retopo. Only obj or Stl format

*2024-09-24, version 2.1.2*

There’s no option to import/ export .fbx files. Not sure why, seems like a huge oversight. Only other issue is the horrible file management on iOS. Really clunky to get files on and off the iPad imo. I need to put it on my PC. Good app for retopo tho

### 2/5 — So, where are the app updates?

*2024-01-05, version 2.0.4*

Bought this app a while ago, based on its promise and wanted to support further development. Now, 10 months later and no more updates. Not worth the price if there are no updates.
-later, 12 months, nothing. Dropping to 2 stars.

### 2/5 — It’s time to fix all everything broken

*2023-10-09, version 2.0.4*

It’s a great idea for an app but there som many things broken. You have to draw lines over and over for them to work. That goes for retopology and uv mapping. It’s a pain to save and you never know what is saved or auto saved. Uv maps are export mirrored. Tools do too many things instead of one thing well so you are constantly fighting with them. Texture preview doesn’t work at all. Every time you uv unwrap you have to pack islands again for no reason.

### 4/5 — Great app, kinda pricey

*2023-09-29*

It’s a wonderful tool and the only one of its kind that I know of on iOS, but the standard version is $90!!! That’s crazy, considering I could do all this is blender for free! If the full version were the price of the lite version I’d be happy… but there are free apps out there that will do the same thing with only slightly fewer tools/tricks/etc.

### 4/5 — Works well, would really appreciate another feature

*2023-08-08, version 2.0.4*

A big feature I feel is missing in the pro version is the ability to hide sub-models. As in- if I export an fbx with multiple separate meshes within the sculpt, it would be nice to have some sort of object manager to hide or make these sub models visible. I currently work around this by exporting my sculpt in multiple different pieces and I retopo each individually but I feel this is not an optimal solution.
Thank you.

### 1/5 — Could of been 5 stars… greed

*2023-07-29, version 2.0.4*

If this was on pc i would understand the price in comparison to the apps in the market. But the marketplace in which it is set, the mobile apps market, its unlikely that most people will spend over 10 pounds on an app. If you really wanted to make some money, whoever made this. Make the price 10 pounds and then you might actually get some decent sales, and reviews to. But this is not balanced with the App Store, its just shock to anyone who ends up seeing it after learning to use this. This is a great example of how business owners ruin themselves from greed, when giving get you more in the long run.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Over priced

*2026-02-26, version 2.1.7*

I mine as well just export my object to blender cuz it has the same features for free so I don’t see the point for paying 90$ bucks the 20$ bucks version is useless because the tools you need are STILL locked behind a paywall. Just use blender I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a web app for uv unwrapping why do y’all think exporting and saving is 20$ bucks kinda want my money back. I’ve been in this game for years now some apps took my feature requests and made them features if you guys don’t add more to the 20$ version you will be over shadowed blender iOS that’s in development that will have these features for OR any app that does the same and offers more. Sad to say your time is ticking.

### 1/5 — Good tool but lacking

*2026-01-30, version 2.1.7*

It’s great for retopology, however, you need to pay if you want access to basic features like exporting or saving your work. The price just isn’t worth it.

### 1/5 — Deleted my project without warning?

*2026-01-16, version 2.1.7*

I swear I purchased this program, and after placing over 1000 quads. I went to sleep expecting to keep working on my project it deleted it without warning or anything. There is no way to save or export. Like I said I thought I purchased the lite version of this it’s only 20 bucks, either way it locks out a lot of basic functionality that free programs on windows have. I would just use blender and if you’re going to spend 80 I would just buy retopoflow. It is much quicker to generate quads with finely tuned settings and controls.

Dont waste your time on what ever the free mode is just make sure you buy the base lite and make sure it’s applied. I have no idea where in app purchases go, I’m assuming it’s applied automatically and something went wrong on my end. Either way there’s no real warning to save before when you hop over to YouTube. And lose your progress lol.

### 1/5 — UNABLE TO EXPORT IN FREE VERSION!!!

*2025-11-09, version 2.1.7*

Don’t waste your time on this app unless you’re ready to pay $20 to export your retopologized model. Just use blender, it’s free and much better optimized. I’d understand if the lite version were $5-$10, but $20? Not worth it when there are better and truly *free* alternatives out there. Spend your money elsewhere.

### 1/5 — HAS BUGS THATS REALLY NEEDS FIXING

*2025-10-31, version 2.1.7*

Also please please make the 15 dollars the standard or much lower I really don’t think it should be that much

I literally can’t retopo my model because its mixing the frog model with my actual model, please please 😭😭 I love this app to do this in my iPad but there’s some APP BREAKING bugs

I REPEAT APP BREAKING BUGS

PLEASE FIX

OTHERWISE ITS A GOOD APP IT ACTUALLY MAKES RETOPO FUN.

ONCE FIXED ILL PUT IT BACK TO 5 STARS

### 1/5 — Crashes.

*2024-10-27, version 2.1.2*

Crashes with every single import. I even tried small file sizes. (Using a new iPad Pro so it should t be due to the hardware).

Too bad….looks like a great app.

-I will check out future updates.

### 1/5 — Crashes when importing

*2024-09-22, version 2.1.2*

Crashes when importing a 20MB obj from nomad, unusable.

### 1/5 — 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

*2024-05-11, version 2.1.0*

Ridiculously too expensive for such a weak app 👎🏼👎🏼

### 1/5 — Cheated?

*2024-03-09, version 2.1.0*

I purchased a plan that had certain features then a new more expensive plan was created and all of the features were moved to that plan? I do t like those types of practices.

I wonder if this can be reported..

### 1/5 — Scam

*2023-09-05, version 2.0.4*

I paid 20 for this, tried the app and it 90% didn’t work. Then try and give it a second chance months later and yeah it is still trash. Now its asking for another 20$ for me to give it a third chance. I use to really admire the dev that worked on this but wow is this disappointing. I thought he would have some level of pride in his work but this just a broken cash grab. Nothing cozy about it, more like being blanketed in flaming dog crap.

### 5/5 — Finalized My 3D Modeling iPad Workflow

*2026-01-22, version 2.1.7*

I'm trying to get my full workflow and animation done through the portability of my iPad. This app has been so key on getting that done. I even plan on using the seams to help me make mockups for real plushies I want to make for my nephew. 10/10, glad I bought the full version. Please never become subscription-based.

### 5/5 — Essential to my workflow

*2025-03-09, version 2.1.4*

I love CozyBlanket, it can occasionally have small issues, but I’ve not run into any issues that have required a workaround. It isn’t necessarily the speediest workflow, but I find it the easiest to control the flow of the topology. The intuitive retopology tools aside, the UV unwrapping is fantastic! It’s turned a process many find tedious and bothersome into a task I genuinely look forward to.

### 5/5 — Fantastic tool

*2024-12-28, version 2.1.3*

So, I have been struggling to retopo a reasonably complicated model. My first impression of CozyBlanket was it was okay. So kept hearing about other more “advanced” retopo tools like Topogun and Topoflow for Blender. Topoflow crashed blender repeatedly on my Mac Studio. Retopogun, was much more stable. I proceeded to retopo a head and it took me 6 hours. I am certainly not claiming to be a pro at retopolizing geometry. But I went back into Cozy Blanket and in ONE HOUR, I redid the head. The workflow of Cozyblanket is FANTASTIC. It’s been stable. Between the easy of flying around the model, placing faces, and building large mesh patches, CozyBlanket made this 10x faster. My only suggestion to the developer is PLEASE fix the file saving to be more traditional. It feels like in the effort of keeping it simple, I feel too disconnected with where my work is saved.

### 5/5 — Updated: It is worth now.

*2024-03-21, version 2.1.0*

Update:
It’s quite a while on down the road now since my original review and can happily say this is worth picking up if you need this type of tool.

The gripes I had with weird input registration and not performing correct actions are still relevant but don’t seem to be as frequent.

I haven’t yet used the baking functionality but will update this review again if there’s anything bad about it.

Good job bringing CozyBlanket to a much more polished feature rich state!

Old review:
Tried to retopo several different objects, even primitives and found numerous problems with basic user input. Drawing straight over an existing single edge with Apple Pencil makes a loop, except for when it doesn’t. Sometimes it works if you follow the flow you’d like with the line, except for when it doesn’t. Maybe this time I need to cross multiple edges? Maybe this is one of the times where I need to repeat all of the above repeatedly at different points of an edge while wearing red socks, doing a merry moonlight jig and singing the forbidden incantation to the spirits of beyond? Want to slide a loop? Cool tap it twice then move and oh dear, it moved for the first few pixels, but now it’s out of sync with the pencils movement and instead snaps arbitrarily to the boundary of other existing edges. Move the pencil side to side, top to bottom, draw a Spirograph, anything you can imagine, your edge isn’t going to be where you want for the most part, so go nuts with it and enjoy yourself! The intro videos are great and straightforward. In practice however literally 8/10 times the tools did not work as intended. I defy you to retopo something simple like a cylinder without removing your eyelids and swallowing them in frustration. It’s a great tool, in theory. This ain’t it though folks, at least not at this time, at this level of development and extraordinarily disgusting price of £80! If it worked perfectly? Sure, I could reach at maybe 30 for the convenience of working on iPad on an app which in any other environment would be a trivial plugin or script. I’d like to support it and see more tools on ipad, I really would. Call this an early release mr developer face, and charge accordingly.

### 5/5 — Great concept and love the continued development

*2023-05-09, version 2.0.4*

Love the new features that have been developed in the last year and absolutely love the blender plug-in, so slick. I feel like with this continued development the price is justified. Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2023-04-23, version 2.0.4*

This app is one of those incredible tools for Pro iPad use cases. Judging by the reviews, it has come a long way. BUT right now it feels like an expertly tuned app made with love. Apple Pencil inputs feel fantastic, this is a powerful tool that feels like it was made for iPad, rather than a desktop app ported to iPad.

Not to mention the one time payment to unlock additional features instead of a subscription.

This app deserves a much better rating than it has.

### 5/5 — Great App. Worth the price.

*2023-01-11, version 2.0.4*

This is a great application. It’s fun to use and works like a charm.
The fact the I can retopo, uv and bake maps on my IPad Pro is insane. I hope they add more features.

I think the bad reviews regarding price are unfair. The people who make these apps have to eat and pay rent, or are they supposed to just give it away for free?

### 5/5 — the app is great

*2022-11-10, version 2.0.2*

Edit: most of my wishlist about the appawhere added fast, i love this app, it still has some misfires, or not recognizing some gestures, specially when you are in small spaces of your sculpt, but still beats everything else because of ergonomics. gret aop, totally worth it.

Original Review: its not frustratingly buggy but you encounter them from time to time, one in particular is the handling of scale, small objects like a shoe get clipped out by the camera view, so you need to upscale it in blender to 10x or more, the camera sometimes snaps a goes wacky all over the scene, it has a handy double tap to re center to the model, but in my experience you have to restart or it keeps happening, I still plan to use it a lot bc of portability and ergonomics, yes there are many addons and other apps that do a better job, but all of those are tied to a PC, the price is steep but this is a veeery niche app. wishlist: -import texture for reference -“apply” mirror so you can continue retopo on assymetrical but similar objects -subdivision, at least 1 level

### 5/5 — A joy to use

*2022-05-12, version 1.3.2*

People in the reviews here are complaining about the price, then comparing it to Maya (expensive) and Blender (has a ton of capital from every major industry player). The price is fine - you’d rather have a subscription model? This is a niche product, it’s a joy to use, and I’m happy I paid for it. I have arthritis and doing retopo on the PC is painful, but using Cozy Blanket is very comfortable. This very nicely completes my workflow with Nomad Sculpt and Procreate. Kudos to the dev team for all of the behind-the-scenes programming magic that makes this feel so fluid and intuitive. And thank you for saving my hands. I’m doing all of my games art on iPad now, thanks to this. This app is worth the cost to me. Edit: I had an app crashing issue, sent an email to support, within a few hours they had an update out that fixed it. A++ support, very satisfied with my purchase.

### 4/5 — Excellent tool for remeshing 3D models

*2026-01-12, version 2.1.7*

I just use the basic manual version so can't speak for the full price version. However, as an amateur 3D sculptor, I find it excellent and very useful for creating low poly models from detailed sculpts, and I've learnt lots about remeshing from using it. The UI is a little clunky, but nothing I couldn't learn to work with quite quickly. However, I do wish they would make the modifier buttons (e.g. tweak, erase, etc) sticky as they never seem to stay pressed long enough. And it's hard to remember the touch/pencil gestures for things like UV mapping, so that could be improved too. But overall I find it very useful and convenient for remeshing my models on my ipad.
