We’ve reworked the entire Tasks experience under the hood and added a lot on top. We also made some huge performance improvements. Typing is now dramatically smoother, battery life is better thanks to reduced CPU usage, navigation feels smoother throughout the app, and document opening is up to 2.3× faster. New & improved - All Tasks view has been completely redesigned to be a true list of all tasks across all documents - All the tasks views, Inbox, Today, Upcoming and All now support new sorting and grouping options - Today, Upcoming and All support grouping by document and sorting by in-document order. In this grouping, tasks display a badge with the page they are in - When grouped by none, Today shares a single manual order across the Today task view, the Calendar, the Daily Note and the widgets, perfect for prioritizing your tasks - Tasks have a reworked context menu and support the expanded display mode, to show more content and context - Tasks lists in all the tasks views, the Calendar and the Daily Note now support multi-select (swipe to select on iOS), drag-and-drop reordering and keyboard shortcuts for reordering - Apple Reminders now surface not just in the Inbox, but also in Today, Upcoming, in the Daily Note and in the Calendar - Completed tasks are listed on the day they were completed on in the Calendar and in Daily Notes - Optional badge with remaining tasks for today in the sidebar – enable by right clicking the Tasks item in the sidebar - Completely reworked Date Picker with support for natural language search and keyboard selection - Global Add Task panel, which can be opened via Cmd J, with improved UI - New keyboard shortcuts that work across the Tasks views, Calendar and in Documents: - Cmd J – Add task - Cmd Shift S – Turn block into task and set schedule date - Cmd Opt Shift S – Turn block into task and schedule for today - Cmd Shift D – Turn block into task and set deadline - Cmd Shift R – Set reminder - Cmd Opt Shift R – Set reminder in 1 hour - Task section in the Daily Note now displays a single unified list - Updated design of the Calendar to highlight everything that is important today - New configurable default start-of-day time in settings - Tons of small improvements to make working with tasks more smooth and fun Reminders & notifications - Reminder push notifications now have Complete and Snooze action buttons — handle tasks straight from the notification.
