### 5/5 — Great books

Love this app now that I have better WIFI signal. Great for binge listening. Heather makes the books come to life in our modern world.

### 5/5 — Seriously enjoyable!

*2016-08-03*

I'm absolutely loving the opportunity to listen to the classics while I knit. Heather's research into the authors and background information brings the story to life in a way that I would not be able to achieve on my own. Thank you, Heather, for doing what you do. I've always loved to read, but Craft Lit has sparked a whole new passion for literature for me.

### 5/5 — Great podcast and app

*2015-06-30, version 2.0.18*

Over nine years worth of free books with explanations. This app has a page showing what episodes contain which books.

### 5/5 — Best podcast ever!

*2015-05-17*

This is a wonderful podcast: beautifully and intelligently presented by Heather Ordover. I love the "crafty" part of the podcast, but even if you are not into that at all, give it a listen because the books are wonderful. I am somewhat in awe of how much time, effort, and and thought Heather puts into each episode. Thank you, Heather, if you read this!! Everyone else, sign up!

### 5/5 — A weekly anticipated treat

*2015-05-01*

Heather Ordover offers up a weekly generous helping of intelligent conversation about crafting, life, and most importantly, a great book which will be read to you by an excellent reader. Heather makes the great literature more accessible to all of us. Great for those of us who were English majors and for those who thought we were crazy. I wait for it to come out each Friday and find great comfort Heather's voice and her graceful sharing of what is going on in her life.

### 5/5 — Lindababgobubu

Favourite of all time! Love love love!

### 5/5 — Literature and craft chat, who could want more?

*2014-12-02, version 2.0.5*

Heather has a very soothing voice, cares about the quality of the readers and makes me think more about these books than my high school teachers ever did.... Love it!

### 5/5 — Hours of listening pleasure!

*2014-11-23*

I have been listening to CraftLit for many years now and the new version of the CraftLit app just makes it that much easier to listen on my phone. This is a wonderful program, a great resource for a deeper understanding and enjoyment of literature and Heather is a terrific host and teacher.

### 5/5 — Love Craftlit

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Crashing

*2015-12-14, version 2.0.30*

I love the podcast but the latest version of the app crashes. It will not open. I pay for premium content I cannot access. Please fix!

### 1/5 — Crash

*2014-11-09, version 2.0.5*

Since the most recent app update, it won't even open in my iPhone 4s, just goes to the title screen then crashes within seconds.

### 1/5 — Dumb app

*2014-06-12, version 1.19.8*

You should be able to download and read your own books not just episodes. Dumb app!!!

### 2/5 — Crashing

*2015-12-13, version 2.0.30*

Current version crashes upon opening. Please fix!!

### 2/5 — Current version crashing

*2015-12-05, version 2.0.30*

Love the app in general, but the current version is crashing on all of my iOS devices. Please fix this!

### 2/5 — Good Foundation - Not Customer Centric

*2010-03-11*

I had such high hopes for this app, and downloaded it yesterday (love the CraftLit podcast). Tried it our last night, and it was a dissappointment. Listening to one of the episodes, had to pause it to go and do something that needed my full attention, came back and discovered that you have to start from the beginning of the episode!! It does not "keep your place" as the podcast episodes do through my iTunes podcast feature. Not saving my place is one feature that drops the value of the app WAY down.
Love the concept of having the episodes pushed to my iPod Touch. The sound quality when listening through the app is much better (I don't have to put the volume way up to hear the readers, as I do when listening through iTunes downloaded episodes), and the interface is very good. All of that provides a solid foundation, but the one major glitch makes me re-think this app a lot. I think the app was created with the podcast in mind first, not how customers would use it. It is very rare that I can devote a good hour to something, without having to pause. Just not realistic to have to listen to the epsiode all at once, every time.

### 3/5 — Love the podcast

*2010-11-07, version 0*

The podcast is one of my all time favorites, but this app is not really necessary to enjoy the podcast. I can only hope that the money is at least supporting Heather's great work.

### 4/5 — Great lit and informative

*2015-10-21, version 2.0.28*

Love the content. App sometimes just shuts down and resets. Kind of wonky but worthwhile

### 4/5 — Love the books

*2015-09-16, version 2.0.26*

I love this podcast. Heather is great at preparing you for what to watch for.

### 4/5 — Love craftlit, but app a little clunky

*2014-02-11, version 1.19.8*

Finding episodes without consulting the website takes time. It would be smoother if they were arranged by book. Otherwise very functional.

### 5/5 — CraftLit.

*2024-03-29*

Love the show.

### 5/5 — Love, Love, Love CraftLit!!

*2023-06-29*

I started listening years ago, when I was listening to a lot of knitting podcasts. Bur I really don’t listen to those anymore, and besides, this has evolved to be WAY more about the lit and only tangentially about the craft. Heather does her homework, presents classic literature, and best of all, teaches to the jokes. She makes certain you understand out of date references and words that are no longer in normal use. And you get to hear some of the greatest stories of all time! The app is the easiest way to go through the past library.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2020-06-08*

I am both an avid reader and crafter. I’m unable to work, and have been trying to keep myself busy with crafts. Lo and behold, I found this podcast/app and am in love! It’s so worth checking out if you’re on the fence. Believe me, you’ll be hooked in no time like I am!

### 5/5 — Craftlit is wonderful.

*2019-08-28*

Enjoying some of the Classics again. Heather is irreplaceable. Thanks so much.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2019-04-16*

Heather is amazing. She is warm, insightful, and a fantastic teacher.

### 5/5 — Make a friend, hear a book!

*2019-02-23*

Heather is so personable and open, after listening to her discuss one book you will feel like she is that neighbor you always wish you have.
Her literary insights are spot on, and make the books much more enjoyable. Historical context, definitions of strange words, information about authors - all combine to make the stories she presents come to life.

### 5/5 — What took me so long?!?

*2018-07-24*

I’ve been listening to the podcast for years and just now added the app to my phone. Love love love!!!! Makes life so much easier, especially on my long commute. Thanks Heather!!!

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2017-07-13, version 2.1.19*

Fabulous podcast! For crafters and readers looking for classic literature audio with great commentary!

### 5/5 — Non crafter

*2017-05-28, version 2.1.19*

I am a equipment operator, my wife introduced me to this podcast and I'm hooked. I enjoy the commentary before and after the story. Plus I learn more about knitting and it's terms so I kinda know what she's talking about now.

### 5/5 — Great listening

*2017-05-14, version 2.1.19*

Just brilliant in every way. The app itself works well, and the content is exceptionally good. Well read audiobooks with really helpful explanations from Heather so we can better appreciate this literature from a time before our own.
Just really good fun. So many great books!
