### 5/5 — Great game!!

*2026-02-02*

Great authentic sub simulator game, reminds me very much of old pc game called silent service. Game ai performs well enough to keep gameplay challenging and fun. I added an expansion pack I’m liking the game so well!Panic Ensues makes great games that don’t require you to be online yet are still engaging and fun in my opinion. I highly recommend this game to anyone that has to be in places with no signal, makes a great boredom killer for sure!! I have every game they offer on both my devices. Do the tutorial that has a check list and check off each topic before you play and you will be able to fully understand and play. Learn the time compression and fast travel functions and the game play won’t get boring on you. It’s as authentic a ww2 sub simulator you’re going to find I think!

### 5/5 — Great game!

*2026-01-06, version 1.4.29*

Great game , reminds me of an old pc game I used to love and is the best sub simulator I have found for mobile. Now that you have made this game, you should consider making one just like it from the German perspective where players command German u-boats trying to sink allied shipping. I would buy that game as well. Unless you could do it as an expansion pack to this game or something. Either way I would buy that.

### 5/5 — Nice game

*2025-12-28, version 1.4.29*

Great graphics and intuitive interface and controls.
Well done, best sub warfare game I’ve found

### 5/5 — Great sub game, great developer

*2025-12-13*

I love this game. Everything is just as you would want it, the interface is so well designed, the sound and everything is great. Not only that, I had a question about the sub detection and the developer got back to me the same day. The mod section allow you to turn off the enemy cheats which is used for game balancing.

### 5/5 — The Silent Service

*2025-12-01*

Klare Empfehlung.

### 4/5 — Now it has issues

*2025-11-29, version 1.4.29*

Game now locks up unexpectedly.

When using rudder commands, the game puts submarine into uncontrolled circling, both left and right. This makes it very hard to control

### 4/5 — Changing my rating for the better.

*2025-11-25, version 1.4.29*

This game rocks. Harder than a steel barrel full of rock monkeys.

### 5/5 — A good game

*2025-11-07, version 1.4.28*

As the title says, it’s a good game, easy to play. I’d buy it again.

### 5/5 — Wolves of the Pacific for your phone

*2025-10-27, version 1.4.27*

Gameplay reminds me of Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific. No ads, you just pay up front. Graphics are simple but gameplay is so good I don’t care. I’m enjoying it very much.

### 5/5 — excellent jeu

*2025-10-20*

franchement allez-y dans la même veine que Silent Hunter Wolf of the pacific une très bonne campagne et pour ceux qui aiment ce genre de jeux, vous allez adorer !

### 5/5 — Love this game

*2025-10-16, version 1.4.27*

Fight at night, learn how to navigate and move using way points to save time. Bigger ships = more points. Great fun.

### 5/5 — Really fun game what would be cool to see

*2025-10-16, version 1.4.27*

I would will enjoy if you added a first person or you can enter the submarine and see your crew working and you could go to the cabin’s room and you could walk around the submarine and see all the moving parts and stuff

### 5/5 — Need a U Boat version

*2025-10-02, version 1.4.26*

A German uboat version is badly needed

### 5/5 — Best “I can come back in a month and pick up without a hitch.”

*2025-09-24*

Sometimes you want a game you can walk away from for a little while. Crash Dive 2 lets you do that and not loose the flavor. This is an excellent sub game, and no disrespect intended. It is particularly nice that you can be away for some time and not loose your place. Graphics are much improved from the first Crash Dive, and the ‘expansion packs’ are appreciated. The developer of this program has every right to feel proud.

### 5/5 — Yup!…😎🎶

*2025-09-20, version 1.4.26*

Yup!…😎🎶

### 5/5 — Great Depth for a Mobile Game

*2025-08-04*

I played this on PC before I played it on mobile and both experiences were great fun. It’s one of those games where the complexity is customizable, I can spend hours playing it and micromanaging every little detail or I can hop on for 5 minutes on my lunch break and sink a couple ships without having to worry myself about any tedious mechanics. If you’re in need of a time waster, your primary gaming platform is mobile, or you’re a submarine enthusiast, this game is a must-have.

### 5/5 — One of the best games on iOS

*2025-06-29*

This isn’t just an excellent submarine game, it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played on the iPad.

It strikes the right balance of being a fun WW2 submarine game, with a little bit of simulation features added. There’s a surprising amount of small details that show the developer is passionate about the game and submarines in general. Things like being able to adjust the gyro angle, bottoming the sub, hearing enemy ship propellers when they come close by, rain drops on the binoculars causing light diffraction.

I hope more dlc gets released or another sequel gets released.

### 5/5 — Need a U Boat version

*2025-06-25, version 1.4.18*

A German uboat version is badly needed

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — AA Gun Cannot Be Aimed

*2026-04-02, version 1.4.31*

Apparently a known but unfixed issue, the AA gun cannot be aimed. This aspect of the game is, according, entirely non-working.

I am running an iPad Pro with the latest upgrades to both the OS and the app.

### 1/5 — Nowhere near as good as the first one.

*2025-11-16, version 1.4.28*

Where’s the action? Why do you have to sail around until finally giving up? I haven’t attacked anything in this game except for the dummy ships in training.

### 1/5 — Virtually impossible to play on a phone.

*2025-02-16, version 1.4.13*

Useless on a phone. An ok arcade sub game on a pc, but you can forget about managing a difficult battle on a touch screen. Pass on this one.

### 1/5 — Verbeugt ohne Ende

*2024-12-15*

Teil ein war besser und hatte weniger bugs

### 1/5 — iPhone 14 - Controls are an overlapping mess

*2023-01-15, version 1.2.54*

My grandfather was the Captain of a WWII sub. We used to play the first version together before he passed and this is seriously about the only game I play on a phone, I love it. Unfortunately, recently work upgraded me to an iPhone 14 Pro, and this week I upgraded my personal device to an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and on both the controls are an overlapping mess.

Thinking it was an artifiact of a restoration from a much older device, I deleted and reinstalled but same outcome.

Would really love to play again, but with the controls stacked on top of each other it’s impossible.

### 1/5 — Not realistic at all.

*2021-09-22, version 1.2.11*

I have been sink multiple times by the Japanese Wake homing torpedo. They did not have this in WW2!

### 2/5 — Escort torpedos.

*2024-12-24, version 1.4.11*

This game is great for the most part, it has a good custom mode, the war patrols and campaign work well. The biggest problem is the tendency for escorts to torpedo the players submarine, that is highly historically inaccurate and incredibly frustrating in game.

### 2/5 — Frustrated

*2023-12-13, version 1.3.19*

Why does the game quit near the end of a game sent this review a number of times about the game quitting near the end and so wasting all of that time

### 2/5 — Annoying inaccuracies

*2022-11-14*

I’ve enjoyed just about every WW2 subsim going back to Sid Meier’s Silent Service. All of them are a compromise between playability and historical simulation. This game works well, has a good interface, and makes acceptable compromises to keep the tactical calculations from being overwhelming.

But there are some poor choices with historical accuracy. To my knowledge the IJN destroyers never had an antisub torpedo to fire at allied subs. I faced 29 in the first mission alone. Second, night air attacks should be a rare occurence, but not in my game experience. These feel like adjustments designed to vary the challenge and artificially increase tension. If you are looking for a video game, fine.

But I’m with those who come to a WW2 subsim with a fair bit of historical knowledge. I’m expecting to implement tactics and strategies I have read about. Each step away from historical grounding diminishes my experience rather than enhancing it.

I appreciate that this is not a ‘freemium’ game. I don’t at all regret the $10 spent, but it was not quite the game I was hoping for.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! You're right, the anti-sub torpedoes are a historically inaccurate way to give the enemy AI a way to attack a submerged player at range; it's an attempt to balance the game. If you hate it (which I totally understand) you can disable them using the in-game modding editor (Options->Modding) at Game Vars/Enemy Torpedoes/Enemies Launch Torpedoes.
The night air attacks are actually (embarrassingly) a bug: Enemy planes are never supposed to fly at night, but those IJN pilots have been unstoppable so far.

### 2/5 — Game crash when starting kampaign

*2021-11-14*

Rest is fine

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — WORTH THE MONEY

*2026-07-07*

This game is great! I love how dynamic this game is. You can play it for hours and not get bored with it, the upgrade system is great and I like how you can manage the crew. I think in game random events would be cool like if a crew mate was caught steeling from the mess or maybe two crew mates got into a fight, then you could choose the consequences and your choice could affect the crews mood. Also it would be cool if when your crews been under high levels of stress (depth charges for a long time) that they could begin to rebel or not do their job as well. Also, dev I hope you see this, a PT boat game just like this would be amazing.

### 5/5 — Excellent Game

*2026-06-30, version 1.4.32*

This is the best sub simulator app that I’ve found, and I’ve tried most. When played on the more difficult settings it is HARD and requires a lot of strategy and a little bit of luck to stay alive. It is well worth the price, and has no adds except occasional self promotion when opening the app. Gameplay is never interrupted. I’ve had hundreds of hours of fun and still enjoying it.

### 5/5 — Best game ever

*2026-05-27, version 1.4.32*

I’ve played this game for as long as I can remember. Played the same missions again and again. Love love love it. Pretty nearly a perfect game.

### 5/5 — Best sub game ever

*2026-05-13*

I have been playing sub games for years about 35 and i still love them I have been playing this since it’s come out and im still playing now and I still love this game. I’m buying a mac book neo at Christmas to play this game on can’t wait. It really is a first class game. Well done !!!

### 5/5 — Highly addictive

*2026-04-14, version 1.4.31*

Definitely worth it

### 5/5 — Love This Game!!

*2026-04-05, version 1.4.31*

Bought and after playing a few times I knew this was a keeper. Jumped on the additional DLC to support the dev and already completed the main campaign and started on DLC. Excellent games.

### 5/5 — The best sub sim available on iOS

*2026-03-28*

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying Crash Dive 2 for quite some time; this is much more a simulator than most of the arcade-style games you’ll find. The detail, different levels of difficulty and save options are really good. If I have a criticism, it’s that some of the pick-up missions from a coastline are near impossible, with depths so shallow that you can’t get to the coast without surfacing (and even then, some run you aground) with patrol vessels sat a few hundred yards away. And why, at every downed pilot rescue mission, you’ll reliably find two sub-chasers just sailing up and down. That’s frustrating and very unrealistic but everything else is very good indeed.

### 5/5 — A Submarine Veteran’s Review

*2026-03-09*

As a former submariner, I have to say that Crash Dive 2 is one of the most enjoyable submarine games I’ve played in a long time. It strikes a great balance between accessibility and realism. While it’s not meant to be a full-blown simulator like some of the older PC classics, it still captures the tension and tactical thinking that make submarine warfare so fascinating.

What I appreciate most is how the game makes you think like a submarine commander. Managing depth, battery levels, silent running, and torpedo solutions creates that familiar feeling of hunting while trying to remain undetected. When destroyers start dropping depth charges and you’re slipping deeper into the ocean hoping your hull holds, the tension feels surprisingly authentic.

The controls are intuitive and the interface is clean, which makes it easy to jump into a patrol even if you only have a few minutes to play. At the same time, there’s enough depth in the mechanics to keep things interesting over many patrols. Convoy attacks, night surface engagements, and trying to evade determined escorts keep every mission engaging.

Another highlight is how well the game captures the atmosphere of submarine warfare. The sound design, sonar pings, and the sudden shock of nearby explosions really add to the immersion.

As someone who served aboard submarines, I find myself coming back to this game often. It’s simply fun. If you enjoy naval history, submarine tactics, or just a good strategy game, Crash Dive 2 is well worth your time.

### 5/5 — Recent updates

*2026-02-16, version 1.4.30*

Game has always been fun. With latest updates the game has become even better.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-02-06, version 1.4.30*

This is far more depth, pun intended, then you would expect for a mobile game. Everything from crew management to torpedo aiming and evasion, damage control, etc. with customization based upon how involved you want to be or how casually you want to play. Honestly it’s probably the most fantastic Sub game. I think I’ve played on a mobile device with single engagements or full campaigns and various levels of difficulty and realism. Fantastic
