The frustrating issue is that there is no tutorial! I am tech enough to get me into trouble so I need something a little simpler. If you charge for apps, then please help out your customers by guiding them step-by-step! I worked with AI to get me started. I wanted to cut/paste text into the book page, can’t do it! Stupid and frustrating. If you love to write but don’t want the hassle, DO NOT GET THIS APP! ### 2/5 — ebook duplicate und ffehler *2024-02-13* Wenn man ein ebook dupliziert gehen alle footnotes verloren. If I would use it, I would have to do things differently, and I feel I would be stuck using the app: it would be hard to export my book for use with the apps I’m currently using. I have created roughdrafts for books, and after hitting delete to remove them, the app freezes up. I tried reinstalling the app, but the same problem persisted. Other than that, this app works well for book generation with interactive media content which is my goal as a creative arts minister and book writer. ### 4/5 — Fernunterricht per eBook *2021-01-15* Durch Corona entdeckt und als sehr praktisch erwiesen. Um den Studierenden auch mal einen etwas anderen medialen Input zu geben, war ich auf der Suche nach einer App mit der ich eBooks erstellen kann. Dabei bin ich über diese App gestolpert und habe schon erfolgreich einige eBooks mit dieser App erstellt. Gut ist auf jeden Fall, dass man auch interaktive Elemente einbauen kann. **Developer response:** Thank you for your comments ### 2/5 — Hard *2020-04-23* It needs a tutorial, it is sooooo had to get used to but what I see people do is incredible but world take months to make with the layout on one of the book modes it is so hard to find the add page button you half to go so deep to find it there is just a add page button. Man wird NICHT gefragt, oder gar welche man in welcher Reichenfolge diese gerne hätte. Sondern hat ALLE diese in der von dem Softwareentwickler entschiedenen Reihenfolge zusammengefasst. Wohl, der ein Backup hat - oder Zeit hat, diese wieder auseinander zu trennen. **Developer response:** In paragraph, tap action icon, and then select "Split Paragraph", the merged paragraph will be split to many paragraph element again. ### 3/5 — Love the app, but serious problem... please fix *2017-09-20* So, this app is amazing. It’s simplistic, and has a beautiful design. Loads of different things that help when writing. But two problems I have is that 1) when writing a paragraph, as soon as I have typed enough to have to scroll down, whatever I type doesn't show up, until I exit the paragraph screen and go back in. Please fix this soon. 2) I have trouble "selecting" entire pages at a time on my iPhone to have Siri read it to me. Anytime I try to select most of a page for my phone to speak it to me, it highlights the entire page, or the entire book. Please fix these. It repeatedly flashed and deleted all my pages after I spent HOURS importing and laying out artwork and text. That’s too bad, because I liked using it. But time is money, and I lost five hours of my life playing with this app today. It has no auto-correct, extreme lag, and basically impossible to add things. This thing needs a tutorial! It’s not worth your 8 dollars and I’m raging. The previews are still different from the content I created. I've been waiting years for this app to work, I should've continued asking for a refund the moment the problems first occurred (years ago). I still haven't been able to publish any books, because of the problems. There's no 'undo' or 'redo' options, which becomes quite time consuming. Maybe I should've asked to be paid, to try this demo/lite version and the amount of time that was wasted without prior permission (as I charge fees for my time, no matter what it is) - if this app were a proper version, everything would've been fixed over the years - this app should've been free coz of it! I was thinking of downloading the connected apps but didn't - it showed there were no downloads, so I waited for the price to be decreased. Instead, it was taken up and still says no one has downloaded. They must be very desperate for money, they'll provide inferior products at ridiculous prices! =========== [02-02-2017] The app crashes as soon as it opens, so it's unusable. I thought that it might be coz Apple updated the software on devices and this app might need an update to match it, but my device hasn't updated yet. When the app was working, there were still a few problems: • Not all images appeared in the preview • Custom fonts never appeared at all. •The font sizes keep changing and not looking right - they wouldn't stay at the preferred or default sizes. • The preview is always different to what was created • The preview is blurry/fuzzy and so much more... If there was an 'undo' option, it would help quite a lot. ========== [Edited: 19-08-2016] Title: Waited Long Enough Rating: 3 Stars It doesn't look like this app will ever work properly, it just seems to be getting worse... All of the text comes out wrong - the size has been 100 times larger than the usual default (10 - 14). It doesn't fit in the element box, making it hard to tell if the content even fits on the same page - although I check it in the preview, I should be able to see it 'as it looks' (how I put it to begin with). I'm seriously thinking of trying another app - I haven't published from this app yet, as I'm still having to sort out the problems that only the developers can fix. So, I don't even know if this app can publish, as it hasn't worked properly for me to be able to create a book. I should be able to type it out and do what I want with it but that's not how this app is working... I have to make sure it is centered, the font and colour hasn't changed, the margins haven't changed, the elements haven't moved and so many more problems. I wrote my first 2 books with Apple's Pages app and Microsoft Word on PC, I'll have to go back to basics just to be able to create a basic/average book. ============= [10-07-2016] When I first downloaded this app (around the time it was first released), there was only 1 or 2 minor problems that could be worked around. But ever since then, every update has either stopped certain options from working and other options/features were removed. The bold, underline etc was finally fixed and are now usable. But custom fonts don't always work and don't always appear as the actual font (stays as the default font instead). The other problem is with the font colours - constantly having to use the sliders to enter in the same numbers was becoming too much when the app wasn't changing the font to that colour. The other problem with that is: it won't stop on the exact number. Eg. I wanted R: 49, G: 140, B: 205 but could only get it to every other number but what I wanted - R: 48/53, G: 137/153, B: 198/203/207. It's frustrating and annoying. Leistungsumfang, Bedienbarkeit (und Preis) sind hervorragend! Hervorzuheben sind die vielfachen Exportmöglichkeiten (epub, html5, pdf, video...) und die vielfältigen Zusatzfunktionen wie das Einfügen von Fragen, aufklappenden Textmenüs, widgets usw. ... Wenn ich mir etwas wünschen dürfte: lediglich die Formatierung u. Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten der Seiten könnte vereinfacht werden. **Developer response:** Thank you for your comments ### 5/5 — viele interaktive Funktionen *2021-01-18* Mit der App lassen sich sehr gute „echte“ ebooks erstellen, dh. ebooks die Inhalte und Visualisierungen mit interaktiven Elementen, wie z.B. kleinen Tests, Zuordnungsübungen, richtig - oder falsch Abfragen uws. verbinden und dem Leser oder der Leserin eine unmittelbare Interaktion und ein direktes Feedback zum Verständnis der zuvor dargestellten Inhalte vermitteln. Sehr gut finde ich auch die vielfältigen Exportmöglichkeiten, die eine Nutzung der ebooks auf zahlreichen Endgeräten ermöglichen.
