I totally loved this game! I got it the other day and just finished one run through, im going to try getting to know the other characters, but I really like grant. the stories really interesting and I love that their in space. the fact that they go into detail about important feelings like death and sadness really resonate with me. although I wish the story had more detail and length, the answer choices also werent my favorite, my choices were ignored by most characters in the book and even though I havent tried other options I feel they would have the same affect. also, the part where my character would play a video game seemed a bit pointless, I get it tied them too the guests arriving on the ship but I wish it focused more on the actual character not a game inside the story.
All in all I really loved this totally recommended for the day dreamers and romantics like myself :-)

I remember playing this game as a teenager and loving it. I played the James route. It had a great impact on how I thought about games and storytelling.

Now, many years later, I’m a software developer who has built my own video games — nothing very impressive yet but I’m getting there. I decided to revisit this game, and chose Grant this time. Just as satisfying as the first time, and just what I needed to hear as I worked towards creating compelling narratives in my own games.

So, yes, literally a life-changing game. Beware to any young players. You might end up like me, getting so involved in the philosophy that you become a game developer yourself.

At first I could never make any real progress but once I got to all the characters I was in love. My brain has the liberty to give real life to the beautiful writing. 

Amazing definitely gonna replay and see if the beautiful author has any other games <3

I first got this when I was in high school, on my old iphone 4 many years ago (around 2014). I still think about this story every now and then, and how it greatly moved me. i love coming back to it every now and then. its been almost nine years and is still one of the most touching things I’ve read in my life.

This game is very simple and meaningful at the same time, not needed to use much visuals to create a sweet and calm story. I’m assuming there are more endings so I can’t say that you will get the same sweet ending but the journey is always worth it. It’s not like a typical romantic game, it felt real life story like it was possible. So Thank you to the people who created it. 💖💜💙

This is a very unique, creative game. I’ve already played this game through twice and might even end up playing it again. For anyone looking for diverse character design, this game is the best I’ve seen (age, gender, ethnicity, +). It is a very meta storyline where the player plays a game within a game and has philosophical discussions about game design with fictional game creators (I swear I made that sound way more boring than it actually is!). The philosophical discussions are the best part in my opinion. 

The only thing I disliked was toward the end there is one choice that asks the player to put in any adjective. I had such a hard time finding adjectives that worked! It would instead say it didn’t know that adjective yet. I tried about two dozen adjectives before I got one to work, which was very frustrating. Then, I decided to see how many I could get to work at all. I only found 4 words that worked, though I’d guess there are a few more. Maybe a multiple choice would work better here? Hack for anyone who is stuck, all of these words can work, but get different results: Honest, Profound, Satisfying, Perfect.

I love this game. I’ve been looking for a good story game where your choices really matter and is long enough to actually enjoy. Ive tried out and deleted multiple games that just didn’t scratch my brain the way this game does! I love all the characters, and the detail their different personalities makes it feel like you’re bonding with actual people. Definitely recommending this to my friends :)

it was a wonderful game, and i loved every aspect of it! the open, inclusive customization, the opportunity to create your own end, and even the wait time in between chapters! i feel like that really gave you time to digest and think about how the story is unfolding :] the story was beautiful, and i’d definitely recommend this to my friends <3 thank you for this game!

This is one of those games that holds a very special place in my heart. I can’t ever get sick of it, I always come back every once and a while. I adore every character, they were so beautifully written, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with every single one of them (and the first time I played I thought I was going to leave with a clear favorite, but god was I wrong)
Games like this are very rare for me and I really love it for that.

Between the Choose your own adventure series and the Infocom games,I've played a lot of interactive fiction.
Within about 3 pages and not even knowing any characters names I found myself playing a video game on the moon base and I was terribly bored.

If you’re a fan of well-written, well-crafted stories then this is not the game for you. I wanted to like this; I really did. I even paid for the ad-free version. Perhaps I somehow got a different version of the game than the other reviewers: an early draft, maybe. In any case, I’m not sure I’ve ever been so bored and yet so frustrated simultaneously as I was playing this.

The writing is poor in terms of style and grammar, as well as tedious. The individual characters have no personalities, apart from “you,” whose sole character traits seem to be a serious lack of self esteem and the ability to take every event personally and complain about it. A lot.

The first tenet of good writing is “show; don’t tell.” Unfortunately, that’s something at which this game singularly fails. The plot, such as it is, makes very little sense. There are no explanations for any of the underlying tensions or motivations, and no reason to care about anything that happens. It’s not even clear why “you” is working at this job they obviously hate and at which they are woefully incompetent.

Also, I’m appalled that there’s no warning at all about the repeted mentions of vomit and vomiting. This game would be extremely triggering for people who suffer from emetophobia.

I read until the third waiting period- I’m not actively trying to come at this in a negative way but, I found this story annoying. And this is just preference I suppose but there was a lack of description and detail, lack of connection to the tourists. Although perhaps that’s exactly how it was intended. I do not understand the hype

Absolutely loved it I cannot type any words to say how much i loved this Just literal tears as the game finished Wow When a game is good It makes me emotional And for a game to make me emotional Considering i have strict ratings for games ( on my own level ) Its over the top great I swear This game is going to keep me thinking for ages

Update 2024 

As embarrassing as that rating is from high school me, for some reason this game/story still holds a place in my phone/ipad. Not sure why I connect to it so much. I don’t like reading as much now that I’ve grown but this games one of the few thing I can do a whole sithrough for. Thanks for the memories devs!

I downloaded this app years ago. I loved it! I since then have read so many more stories from this developer! None of them a disappointment, but this one is by far my favorite. I’ve read it several times. Each time I write down how it ended and compare to previous times. You will not find a better story or app on this App Store. 10/10
