Credentials Mobile is the enrolment companion to Credentials Studio, the desktop software that designs and prints ID cards. Use it at the desk where people actually are. Photograph the cardholder, capture their signature, enter their details, and send the card to print on the workstation. No walking someone to a computer, and no typing a form twice. REQUIRES CREDENTIALS STUDIO This app is a companion, not a standalone product. It pairs to one computer running Credentials Studio on the same network by scanning a code shown on that computer's screen. Without a workstation there is nothing to pair to, so tap "Explore with sample data" on the welcome screen to see the whole app running on an invented college's register. WORKS WHEN THE NETWORK DOES NOT Enrolments, edits, photographs and signatures are saved on the phone and delivered when it is back with the workstation. Every record tells you whether it is synced or still waiting, so nothing is ever lost in the gap between the two. The phone draws each cardholder's card itself, so you can see what will print even with no connection at all. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS There is no account and no sign-in. The phone talks to your computer and to nothing else: no server of ours sits between them, and nothing it captures is ever sent to us. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers and no third-party code of any kind. The connection to your workstation is encrypted and checked against that computer's own certificate, so a phone cannot be tricked into sending cardholder details to another machine on the network. You can also require Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode each time the app is opened. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Browse your card designs and see both faces of a card • Look up any cardholder and see their card as it will print • Enrol somebody new, with a portrait taken on the phone • Capture a signature on the screen • Correct details and retake a photograph • Send a card to print on the workstation Credentials Studio is free to try for 90 days at credentials.org.za. ## Version history (last 5 releases) ### 1.4 — 2026-09-17 Take a cardholder's photo when the workstation asks for one. In Credentials Studio, open a person's photo and choose Phone. This app opens the photo capture for that person, and the photo goes straight onto their record, the same way a signature already could. The phone needs to be on the same network as the workstation. ### 1.3 — 2026-08-28 Fixes for problems that could lose work. Editing a cardholder can no longer clear their details. If a card design's field list had not yet reached this phone, the record screen showed no fields, and saving from that screen erased the person's name, number and every other value, here and on the workstation. Records now show their details, and people are listed under the right name. Previously only the design you had open had its field list fetched, so a design you had not opened showed records with no details, an edit screen with no boxes, and could list someone under the wrong field. Card artwork updates after a workstation is upgraded, instead of keeping the older picture. Portrait designs in particular could stay cropped long after the workstation itself was fixed. Printing is safer. A print that is retried can no longer produce a second card, and a print that is still running is no longer reported as finished, so a jam or a ribbon running out is reported instead of silently losing the card. One design this app cannot read no longer stops everything. Previously a single unreadable design left the app with no designs, no records and no enrolment at all. Enrolment drives are lighter on the network: one device's change no longer makes every paired phone re-download everything. ### 1.2 — 2026-08-27 Scan a card to find its holder. Point the camera at the barcode or QR code on a printed card and the app opens that cardholder's record. If two designs share the same number, it asks which one you scanned rather than guessing. The scan button sits beside the add button on the card and cardholder screens, on both iPhone and iPad. ### 1.1 — 2026-08-24 iPad support. The app now runs on iPad, with designs and records side by side, in any orientation. Photos from the library. Take a photo or choose one you already have; both go through the same crop. Honest conflicts. If a record changed at the workstation while the phone was away, the phone now asks which version should win instead of guessing. A clearer queue. See what is waiting to sync and what needs attention, retry or discard individual items, and read exactly when the app is offline. Sturdier sync. The phone syncs by itself when the network returns, keeps a half-finished enrolment through interruptions, never prints the same queued card twice, and survives a workstation restored from backup.
