I Just Finished Playing this.. and it's WAY Addictive! I Love it.. Love the Storyline, Love the Gameplay (which is very unique), and I'm Totally Lovin the Design of the Characters.. Especially the Grim Reaper!! Try it.. You'll See. :D
- Tested and Totally Approved for Fun by "ProjectNeXt.info"

### 5/5 — Fun, and works on all iPods

*2009-08-05, version 0*

This game is great looking, and great fun. It initially had 2nd gen iPod as a requirement, but that has been changed. It works perfectly on my 1 gen touch with 3.0.

The game has the complete package. The character designs are spot on, and funny, and so is the dialogue in between stages. The gameplay uses the resources of the platform to great effect, and you get to be the grim reaper.... I cannot do a better review job than AlbieOne, so if you are on the fence, read his review...

### 5/5 — Another triumph!

*2009-08-01, version 0*

I said in my review of Slash Casual's previous game Candy, that I was looking forward to their next effort. Well thankfuly they didn't make me wait long.

Creepy Town is a solid and fun game that once again takes a familiar idea (in this case Arkanoid) and adds a humorous story and a really great art style. I can't stress enough how great the presentation is here. every thing from the colors to fantastic cutscene animation really make this game stand out.

The gameplay is very simple but don't let that fool you, there's a pretty good challenge behind that simplicity. At first I was just slashing my finger on the screen randomly only to find that I was running out of time. It's all about where you slash and when.

So once again Slash Casual has delivered a great looking game with fun gameplay. And for .99c!?! Why wouldn't you get this?

### 5/5 — Fun, addictive and beautiful! Highly recommended!

Love the graphic and character design in this game, which just adds the final polish to a very addictive and fun little title.
Nice unique twist on an old game style, feels like a totally different game!
Well worth every penny....and some!

### 5/5 — Awesome game. 5 stars.

*2009-07-30, version 0*

I just bought this game earlier today and haven't put my iPhone down yet. The graphics on the game are truely amazing, and the interactive touch screen game play is done really well. 2 thumbs up to the designers of this one. Can't wait to see what's next.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Loved it at first

*2011-05-01, version 1.2*

It is fun don't get me wrong but now it crashes every time I try to play. I'd give it 4 stars if it worked... But I can't even justify one for a game that doesn't.

### 1/5 — Less than 1 star

*2011-01-28, version 1.2*

It crashes every time I open it!!

### 1/5 — Crashes...

*2010-08-02, version 0*

This game is not working on my iPhone 4. It crashes each time I try to play. Please, please, please fix it!!!

### 1/5 — Crashed in tutorial

*2009-12-22, version 0*

This might be great, it seems like it could be, but the app crashes in the tutorial. I've tried all the usual tricks to no avail. Save your money.

### 1/5 — Boring

*2009-07-27, version 0*

Great graphics and concept but the gameplay is so boring! Game looks like it's cool, but it's not. You just bounce around hitting things and you have very limited control.

### 2/5 — Used to love it!

*2010-12-18, version 1.2*

I have had this game for quit a while and it's one of the few apps I actually paid for. It was such fun when I first get it but at level 25 it started crashing. I assumed it was because I only had an older 8 gig iPhone and so I just upgrade to the iPhone 4 and the app crashes every time I start to play it. I reported it but got no response. :-(

### 3/5 — Brick Breaker with Skill

*2009-12-09, version 0*

This is like Breakout/Arkanoid with a lot more freedom. The levels are pretty easy, but fun. The illustrations within the game are lovely, and even some of the jokes are funny within the cut scenes (which can be skipped). It's a great concept, well thought out and well put together. Very good indeed (the game's icon doesn't do it justice).

### 4/5 — Fun

*2009-12-25, version 0*

High quality game, fun, although not very complicated worth

### 4/5 — Awesome graphics, fun casual game

*2009-07-31, version 0*

These guys really put in the time on the graphics for this game. It really adds polish to an entertaining game. It's definitely not an intense game, but it's not boring by any stretch. It's a casual and fun game. If you are looking for that type of game you can't go wrong here. I think kids could definitely play and enjoy this game as well. It's really not scary. The characters are kind of cute.

### 4/5 — Reaps some supernatural goodness

*2009-07-30, version 0*

The Grim Reaper is your salvation. It sounds like I’m spewing lyrics from a heavy metal band, but this is really the theme behind a fun and polished game by the appropriately named CreepyTown. This game is about as entertaining as you can be without actually being frightened about harvesting lost souls and good old b-movie reaping enjoyment. While the game is looks like a twist on brick breakers, CreepyTown is much more than involving a small town, crazy townfolk, and of course supernatural goodness.

Our story begins in the town of Creepsford (cheesy, but it gets better) where the souls of missing townfolk are now reappearing and hanging around town. Ah, you hate to see that with lost souls. Who does the town Mayor Chib turn to? That harvester dude himself, the Reaper. In the role as the Reaper, your job is to find these spirits and return them to the Netherworld, but yeah, you’ll need to deal with some supernatural baddies along the way.

CreepyTown is well presented with a fun, cartoon-like setting. Each of the 50 levels are introduced with cartoon scenes and dialog mostly consisting of banter between the townfolk who really are more trouble than they’re worth and the Reaper. Visually, this game has some high-production values, terrifically animated with a mischievously taunting soundtrack. The devs did a great job with the character illustrations, and I was impressed with the Reaper who reminds me of the crypt keeper from that horror TV series “Tales from the Crypt”. While the game provides a brief tutorial in the beginning, the Help button is incomplete and only brings up a blank screen, which I assume is a bug.

In order to control souls in their movements, Reaper has the ability to draw energy barriers. The controls are straightforward: you draw barriers or lines with your finger and this works extremely well in this game. They appear instantly as green lines on the screen, but these are temporary and these souls are a little bounce happy. In order to open the portal to the Netherworld, these souls must collect all the crosses for each level. Once the portal is open, you must then direct them using the energy barrier towards the portal and viola…you’re a Reaper.

Similar to brick breakers, there are urns which need to be broken in order to acquire items. Depending on its color, urns may need to be hit more than once to crack them open. These include the crosses that open the Netherworld portal, as well as treasure, coins and power ups. Treasure provides scoring bonuses, while collecting 100 coins provides you with an additional life. The power ups include Magic Star for invincibility, Magic Coin which unlocks secret levels for collecting coins, and Speed Boost for faster movement. Many times, these urns are empty, but of course you don’t know that. One thing to keep in mind is that unlike traditional brick breakers, clearing the board is not the objective. Collecting the crosses, opening the portal and directing souls there is your primary objective. If you’re a greedy reaper and who isn’t, feel free to collect additional treasure and coins for bonuses. This adds a nice twist to the game and forces you to weigh your agility versus your greed. Good old Reaper.

The hitch is the timer because you have a limited amount of time to accomplish your reaping duties. Did I mention the Soul Eaters? These are ghoulies that hide in statutes, and when those are cracked, they will eat the soul in play. While this doesn’t end the game or deduct bonuses, it will bring another soul into play but at the beginning of the course. Early on, this won’t matter much with the simpler courses, but later on, it can be.

The gameplay is rather entertaining and not surprising considering the production values. Maneuvering souls around in tombs and resting places can be a difficult task, and throw in Soul Eaters and other obstacles, it becomes a tiring gig. Bonuses are awarded for time, and scoring is based on cash values because that’s what souls are worth. Early on, the game feels rather easy where only 2 crosses are necessary to open the portal, but don’t let that lull you into complacency. By level 19, things start picking up, and you’ll need more crosses to open that darn portal. Other obstacles will appear as well including ice gems, which will freeze souls in place wasting valuable time. More complex paths also await that require a little more dexterity and quick thinking in drawing barriers. Keep in mind that these barriers can be drawn in any shape and anywhere you want, and as I’ve said before, these controls are well implemented.

While additional levels are always welcome, the difficulty could be ratcheted up more quickly. For me, the game became more complex around level 16, and I’m sure this will vary from person to person, or reaper to reaper. To further add to the replay value, an achievement system would seem a natural fit for CreepyTown (e.g. Master Reaper for collecting 500 coins), and I’m sure the devs are already thinking of other creative ideas.

CreepyTown is an entertaining game where movement is only limited by your imagination. A polished presentation, challenging gameplay especially in the later levels, and a reaper to top things off make CreepyTown worth checking out.

### 5/5 — Spooky line drawing brickbreaker

*2009-12-27, version 0*

CreepyTown has that visual feel and that surreal humor that reminds me a lot to some games from the 90's. It really feels like the devs knew what they had to do and they have managed to create a little gem: Better than average graphics, lovely in-game art, mixing two classic game controls to create one unique, plot and background in the story and add-ons and rewards as you progress in the game. It is a very nicely finished game that absolutely recommend to any casual gamer.

### 5/5 — A new twist

*2009-12-15, version 0*

This game puts a new twist on the traditional Breakout clone, and it works! Highly recommended for casual gamer.

### 5/5 — Reaperz

*2009-11-07, version 0*

Souls  + reaper  = great game 
Good idea's and storyline. Buy 

### 5/5 — Wildly innovative.

*2009-11-02, version 0*

Imagine a 360-degree Arkanoid where you draw the paddle, and add pool to the mix. It's fast and challenging, with only your instinctual knowledge of angles and finger speed to do the job. Add beautiful sprite graphics and a haunting string/xylophone theme, and this is a must-have for pretty much anyone.
Design is that of a beautiful, hyper-stylized European childrens' book. Use of color is fantastic. Sadly, conversation scenes are 16:9 on a vertical screen. The great character drawings should fill the screen with a tiny border at the bottom for text. Again, the fact that I view this as a problem is testament to my enjoyment of the art. This game is great in every facet. Buy with confidence.

Happy Halloween folks Well I  this game it's plain wesme. It makes it cool the way it has a story to it and the way the characters talk before almost all the levels. Well I got it for free. Not doubt.  it can't wait to finish all 50 levels I want to see what happens with the Mayor.

EDIT: Well I finished the game and it's kinda sad. The way it ends. But still it's awesome. Well now it's $.99. And if it's your last make sure you buy this game.

Been toying with the idea of buying this for a while. Now that it's free for a limited time, thought I would give it a try. Glad I did as it's rather entertaining. It's the production value that really shines, and the game is rather good to boot.

### 5/5 — Creepy fun

*2009-08-26, version 0*

I picked this up on a whim, I liked the way the visuals looked and the gameplay sounded interesting. This is a line drawing type of game and after conquering it I have to say it is very fun and well worth $1.99. Great atmosphere and sounds.
