### 3/5 — 4.8.5 bug

*2025-12-20*

Developers - this is a repeat of my comments from previous version. It worked briefly as hoped and now with 4.8.5, I still have this problem on both iPhone and iPad. Please fix! This version has a bug which won’t let me scroll down to the music zones that are scrolling off the bottom of the screen in mange rooms and groups. On my iPad I have to rotate to portrait mode to control volumes for zones towards the bottom. My iPhone won’t even rotate from portrait to landscape (I don’t have screen lock on). Even on the iPad, I can’t see more than 6 zones in portrait, and cannot scroll down to see the others. Please fix. Also, request that you fix the overall master volume to only change the zone volumes in porportion to their current settings. Don’t automatically synch the zones to the master volume slider value. Different zones have different speakers, and different acoustics that require different volumes to balance the sound. The master volume switch should be able to mute all zones, but for changing volume should only add or subtract from the current individual values. Thank you.

### 3/5 — Version 4.7.5

*2025-10-11, version 4.7.5*

New version doesnt connect on MacBook

### 2/5 — Same issues as Fryguyf16.

*2025-10-06*

Cant scroll on app to change music levels in different rooms. Please get it fixed. Stopped about 3-6 months ago.

### 3/5 — 4.6.20 bug

*2025-08-15*

Developers - I’m using the 4.6.20 version on both iPhone and iPad. ### 2/5 — Behind in time

*2024-11-05*

This app does a good job of integrating the entire home, but navigating it feels like a chore. It desperately needs haptic feedback for certain actions, a cleaner, more intuitive interface, and smoother navigation. I’ve been using it for over a year, and I still find myself lost at times. My whole home setup runs through Crestron, every room, camera, sound system, light, even the pool, but the interface makes it more of a hassle than it should be. If the app had a more visually appealing GUI, haptic feedback, and a better flow, it’d be a much better experience overall. Crestron really needs to give this app some attention to keep up with the expectations of today’s users, as it would enhance their product appeal significantly. Honestly, I wouldn’t choose Crestron again purely because of how outdated and clunky this app feels.

### 2/5 — Not convenient

*2024-07-26*

Ux design is questionable, connection always breaks up, hard to get around and save schedules (super annoying!), tablet cannot do as much as the tablet it seems
Had other and much better apps for smart home before

### 2/5 — App misbehaving after update

*2024-07-19*

Some features and specially AC units are misbehaving after updating the app, one AC unit has stopped working, what to do not showing the actual status of the working units

### 2/5 — Text size issue

*2024-03-21*

Size of text in app is comically and unusably large.
The app doesn’t respect or follow the text size you set in your iPhone settings. Makes it difficult and cumbersome to use compared to the old app.

### 3/5 — It works, but it’s in need of some serious tweaking.

*2023-03-06*

The app is badly in need of a ui refresh.
It can be slow to respond and there are places where the ui just dead ands or gets into a loop (try adding lights to a custom scene after you have created it).

### 4/5 — Amazing app for smart home installations

*2023-02-16*

Very fast to deploy. The application has many integrations with streaming services and third party devices.
One thing I missed - a support of Dynamic Type for iOS for making the text size bigger. I hope it could be added with further updates.

### 4/5 — Solid and reliable

*2022-04-27*

Excellent app for reliability and responsive interface.

Sometimes button press seems to take more of a longer press than most other apps on an iPad before it responds.

What we really need for Australia is the Favourites for FTA, Foxtel and Fetch TV. Very clunky having to use traditional up down buttons to navigate channels. Also, any chance we can make default if no favourites to land on the Remote Tab rather than a blank interface when entering a video zone? If that can be done it's a true 5 star app

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Scenes not working

*2026-03-20*

My scenes no longer appear in the app. (but work from the house keypads). Tried to get support and they refused to deal with me - said they would only deal with the installer. Not surprisingly, the installer can't fix the Creston iOS app!

### 1/5 — Bugg-ridden & terrible UX

*2025-12-28*

How about y’all fix the bug where the app doesn’t scroll if you’re looking at a list of more than 4 rooms and trying to adjust volume? And offer in-app help to those of us duped into this abysmal system by whoever built the home we bought? Seriously, Crestron is a liability on a home purchase.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-12-22, version 4.8.5*

Very slow connection , remote function does not work . Very limited functionality for the infrastructure expense. Not recommended. Have it a work also : rubbish!

### 1/5 — Mac App broken on latest update

*2025-10-07, version 4.7.5*

The app can no longer locate any homes on the network, after signing in with a cloud login.

### 1/5 — Shortcuts Broken

*2025-07-24*

The latest iOS update almost three weeks ago has completely left iOS shortcut feature broken and Crestron has no updates regarding the same

Can you please tell us how soon can we expect a fix

### 1/5 — It’s always playing up

*2025-03-08*

My home has this system installed by the developer, but it keeps on playing up, sometimes the air conditioning was turned on, sometimes the blinds were toggled up, it’s has not been reliable since I moved in.

### 1/5 — Thermostat Control Doesn’t Work

*2024-09-06*

The thermostat control worked perfect with the last Crestron app, but after we were forced into this new one it didn’t. Now every time I change the heat or cool, it moves but then it goes back to the previous setting in a couple seconds. Please fix this and send an update.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2024-08-03*

Slow, unresponsive and just not great to look at.

I’d expect more.

The worst is the air conditioning never shows what is actually set or never responds when trying to change the temperature.

Just awful, do better.

### 1/5 — Hardly works

*2024-06-28*

The last redesigned version works really poorly. It wasn’t a great app but it’s really bad now…
Everything around temperature is broken. Whatever you set as desired temperature resets back to the original value a second later. Often it enters a weird state where you can’t even see the desired temperature anymore. Also alerts when it’s dysfunctionning are not visible at all anymore.
The app is also generally slow. I’m not sure why you opted for websockets, but it means big latencies at every app launch which just doesn’t make sense for the most repetitive actions like opening a door, a TV or turning on the lights.
Finally I wish it had been designed by designers that do not use another platform. You can clearly feel that it was not designed by iOS designers. Basic gestures like edge swipe are mishandled.
I work in the mobile space and would be happy to provide more detailed feedback if helpful. My Louvre home is very easy to identify on your systems in the very center of Paris.

### 1/5 — New update is horrible

*2024-03-20*

This new app UI update is terrible. Please make this thing simple to use and change images that does not obscure the UI itself. Horrible. Our second home has Lutron which is so much better. Garbage.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-04-10*

I really love how this app allows you to control so many aspects of your house. The one thing I wish it had is an app that could run on the Vision Pro. It would not need to be a Vision Pro specific version you could just allow the iPad app to run on the Vision Pro.

### 5/5 — Really nice design

*2024-10-23*

Crestron home is a huge step forward in the Crestron world. We're continually seeing improvements to the application, the OS4 has a really great design and everyone in the family is happy. Thank you

### 5/5 — Latest updates causing issues

*2024-06-22*

Hi Credtron,
App is good as. But latest updates have issues with Climates (VRV) and selecting STB (in video). After few mins STb remotes disappear and you have to turn off Video and repower ( select STB) to access Remote . Hope these issues looked after very soon

### 5/5 — Find a good installer

*2024-03-20*

When this system is programmed properly it works very well. I have been using my system for several years now and it is very reliable with the occasional reboot required for my cable box typically.

### 5/5 — Gold standard of automation gets even better.

*2024-03-19*

We have various systems from the usual suspects at our other homes and nothing is as intuitive to use or as stable as Crestron Home.

### 5/5 — Made extremely well.

*2024-02-14*

Automation that is done well is key to a logical and sustainable home. Crestron has learned how to capture the best of all systems of the past and funnel it into a well rounded system that is easy to use and understand while being powerful enough to handle the challenges of what an automation system intends to accomplish.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2022-02-25*

👌🏻

### 5/5 — No comparison

*2021-12-30*

Much better than Control4 or any other control system.

### 5/5 — No more port forwarding!

*2021-12-17*

The most recent update that allows for connectivity without the sacrifice of port forwarding and networking knowledge is fantastic!! NAX/NVX controls and recent additions to Crestron Home lineup have allowed for a fairly complicated system to come online in less than a day. Great Job!

### 5/5 — Automation leader tackles the evolving standard

*2021-11-17*

We’re in an era where everything is controlled by an app, these things change as quickly as people with various qualifications can update them and every update contains bug fixes. That also means that every update and combination of app integrations also contain new bugs. As an integrator, I have to place my faith in an industry leader to wrestle the moving target and present us with the widest variety of configuration options that are tested and supported by a common manufacturer. Cloud based programming and updates allow me to be a little guy who delivers a quality and consistent outcome to my clients. Be patient and they always seem to iron out the little wrinkles and quirks that are inevitable to our modern devices with visual appeal and an intuitive interface
